It's been like forever since we've gotten to see you on the regular. What's up? Last we saw you you were just graduating HS. I'm assuming college is going down now? yes!! i'll be a junior in college next year :o how time flies! it's been like 7 years or something since i first posted on LP thats crazy!
What are you studying? major in biology and a math minor, although i still might switch the two. still can't decide!!
Are you doing anything to pay the bills? this summer i'm staying at school working at a research lab, doing stuff on the computer with the modeling of infectious diseases!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? hmmmmmm, hopefully i'll either be in grad school or have some sort of job that combines math and biology :) maybe i'll be married or something but i doubt it lol, and hopefully i'll have $1,000,000 after winning the title of sole survivor
What is your favorite mafia memory? oh wow that's hard. i wish HV/piano were still around just still i could peruse those old threads and remember some stuff - some games i'm sure i don't even remember participating in. but i would say some standouts were winning candyland mafia after being killed day 1 or something as plumpy and being resurrected. or just in general whenever i would have BTSC with any of the people i used to chat to on IRC!
Do you prefer to be civ, bad, or indy? Why? bad for SURE because i ALWAYS! get lynched as a civvie for some stupid reason and when i'm bad i have BTSC and i can actually understand what's going on. if i'm a civ i will usually just glide for a while being totally clueless. in some cases it works, like in recruitment mafia ii (or iii)?? can't remember but i actually got a role like night 11 or something
You've been gone from mafia a long time, have you thought about playing again soon? yes i have decided that after 3 or 4 years, i will play in a game that has a theme that interests me, like survivor mafia! however, if i get cochran or boston rob i'm quitting. ;)
What do you like to do in your spare time? right now, i am working on a somewhat exhausting survivor rewatch of all 32 seasons, which can be seen in the survivor thread! currently on season 7. i also just like to eat, watch reality tv, play tennis, and that's all i can think of right now lol
Favorite tv shows? Movies? books? tv shows: Survivor!!! (seriously watch it if you haven't!), lost (well used to, i have never done a rewatch since the show ended. i just can't bring myself to for some reason) in terms of comedies, i used to love the nbc shows (30 rock, parks and rec, community, etc), i enjoy unbreakable kimmy schmidt, and am EXTREMELY excited for gilmore girls to come back! but right now, besides survivor and some E! network, i really don't have time for TV anymore :( although there is this new show on netflix starring winona ryder that looks promising - has anyone seen it? edit: oh and twin peaks!!!!

movies: some that come to mind are mulholland drive, pan's labyrinth, the royal tenenbaums, but again i don't watch nearly as many movies as i used to :(

books: i used to like the GoT series but it took so long that i forgot anything and i would have to reread the books but that would be wayyyyyyy to much time so sorry GRRM :/ i love anna karenina (not the boring farm levin stuff tho, just the st petersburg drama)

What would suprise most people to learn about you? i go to the gym now!!! i say it's surprising because i literally never went to the gym before a couple of months ago and i'm known for being super lazy lol. but now i try to go!
What do you hope someone will ask you, but you know no one will? What is the answer to that question? "tin man you seem so cool, i just have to follow you on instagram! what is it?" just private message me and i'll gladly tell you ;)
What do you want to be when you grow up? oh wow i still don't really know the answer to this question and i'm almost grown up!! just some job that has to do with math or biology i guess. but who knows! maybe i can win survivor, be really popular, come back a second time and win again, and then just retire or something
thanks so much for the questions :)

Bea, thanks for hosting me!!! And thanks to everyone for the good questions!

And now for our tin man...

If you won the lottery (let's say one of these ginormous mega millions jackpots that have been so popular lately) what are the first few things you'd spend your money on?

Would you rather live near mountains or near a beach?

Do you prefer hot weather or cold weather?

Do you currently have (or have you in the past had) any pets? If yes, what pets?

When you think of the word "success"... what comes to mind for you? (Or, what does a "successful" tin man look like?)

Indi I love your questions so much I want them to have baby questions!!!

Tinny -

Tinny pictsplzktks? :D

Do you have any specific areas of math or biology that you are more attracted to than others? What are they? Why do they rock your socks off?

Math and Bio are very "right brained" analytical pursuits. Do you practice anything artistic? Do you write, draw, act, anything like that?

What is your favorite way to spoil yourself?

Do you cook? If so, what is the dish you are most proud of making? If not, is there something you've always wanted to learn to make?

If I came to visit you, what would we do?

If you traveled out here to AZ to visit me, what would you like to do?

Is there a special someone in your life?

Would you tell us about a favorite memory from your childhood? Why is it so special?

If you feel comfortable doing so, could you share a story about a time in your life where things seemed to go very wrong while it was happening, but when it was over and you were further down the life road, you could see that it was actually an important thing for you to go through? How did that change or affect you?

If you won the lottery (let's say one of these ginormous mega millions jackpots that have been so popular lately) what are the first few things you'd spend your money on? i would take a year off to travel!!! i've always wanted to go to eastern europe, SE asia, and australia! also would try to buy a nice house on the beach somewhere!!

Would you rather live near mountains or near a beach? beach 100%! there's seriously nothing better than just lying on the beach for hours and doing absolutely nothing

Do you prefer hot weather or cold weather? this is a tough one. in general, i think i like slightly warm better more than slightly cold (i.e. i'll prefer 70 to say, 50). but in terms of too hot or too cold (100 vs. 20 or something) i definitely would prefer cold. when it gets too hot, i seriously lose all ability to function, but i'm from wisconsin so i can handle the cold

Do you currently have (or have you in the past had) any pets? If yes, what pets? NO! my parents hated pets so i never had one. always resented them for it

When you think of the word "success"... what comes to mind for you? (Or, what does a "successful" tin man look like?) i think i've always associated success with stability? when i think of being successful, i think of having a relatively well-paying job that i enjoy, with a house and everything sorted out, and few worries :)

Tinny pictsplzktks? :D any good pictures of me are on my instagram!!

Do you have any specific areas of math or biology that you are more attracted to than others? What are they? Why do they rock your socks off? math - i really like calculus and that kinda stuff; not into theory at all really and i'm not sure why! i've always been drawn to calculation-based stuff

biology - i'm not very into cell biology/anatomy, i'm more into looking at humans as a whole? i'm not sure to put it into words, but say you're looking at a disease, i'm more interested in seeing how it impacts a population than at the singular level i guess

Math and Bio are very "right brained" analytical pursuits. Do you practice anything artistic? Do you write, draw, act, anything like that? i'm a pretty good writer (i think) but other than that sadly no :( i seriously wish i could though - i love art but i seriously just have no talent at it

What is your favorite way to spoil yourself? food! i love eating! i have a big weakness for ice cream, indian food, and thai food.

Do you cook? If so, what is the dish you are most proud of making? If not, is there something you've always wanted to learn to make? sadly again as much as i love food i can't cook :( i make good avocado toast i guess but anyone can do that.

If I came to visit you, what would we do? i actually have some ideas because two close friends are visiting me soon! i'm an hour train ride to SF so we could go there, do touristy things like the pier/china town which is always fun, go to the beach, show you campus, and get lots of good food

If you traveled out here to AZ to visit me, what would you like to do? i honestly don't know anything about AZ besides the grand canyon! so i would like to see the grand canyon lol?? idk if i could handle the heat there though! anything over 80 and i just lose all energy

Is there a special someone in your life? lol nope!

Would you tell us about a favorite memory from your childhood? Why is it so special? i always struggle with answering this question! not that i had a bad childhood or anything at all but i always struggle to pick anything special out! i guess just my yearly family trips to new jersey were always fun :) just going to the jersey shore and relaxing at the pool

If you feel comfortable doing so, could you share a story about a time in your life where things seemed to go very wrong while it was happening, but when it was over and you were further down the life road, you could see that it was actually an important thing for you to go through? How did that change or affect you? hmmm i guess at the very beginning of sophomore year, i was really struggling in deciding to major between math, bio, or chemistry, and i seriously could not decide, but i eventually after a VERY stressful week decided to be done with chemistry and focus on majoring in bio / math minor. ultimately i'm happy with it (although i might switch the major/minor) and i'm still not sure what i'll do after school (i think i'll get a masters in math/CS or something and then maybe go to business school or something) but at least it help me figure out i want a job that is math-heavy but involves biology i guess?

Hello Tin!

I tried to go on your instagram but it is set to private so I can't look at any of your pictures :( .

Questions:

- What is your favorite animal?
- What is your favorite variation of basketball to play?
- Do you have a rough, harsh or grating voice?
- If you could be an animal, which animal would you be?
- What is your favorite Pokémon?
- What is your favorite song by the band "America"?

- What is your favorite variation of basketball to play? i'm so bad at basketball so none :( i didn't even really know that there were variations of basketball to be honest lol - i just prefer to watch it on tv
- Do you have a rough, harsh or grating voice? for sure grating :(
- If you could be an animal, which animal would you be? does this have to be different than the favorite animal question? because being an elephant would be fun, but also i would want to be a manatee! they're so cute and calm
- What is your favorite Pokémon? my first game was emerald and i loved absol <3 so it holds a special place in my heart. i also love latias and lapras
- What is your favorite song by the band "America"? i've never heard of this band before i so i just listened to some of their most popular songs on spotify. after listening some of the songs are familiar! i like "ventura highway"

Lets welcome to the hot seat this week:

DOM!!!
A couple quick questions to get the thing going....

How are you enjoying your last bits of summer vacation before school starts?
What are you most excited about for your first year of teaching?
What are you most nervous about for your first year of teaching?
Have you started prepping yet?
When do you get to get into school to start prepping?

What got you interested in teaching?
And when did you know for sure you wanted to be a teacher?
If you could have a second career (where time/money/schooling was all taken care of) what would it be?
If you won a bunch of money in the lottery, what are the first few things you would do with it?
What is "success" to you? Or, what does a "successful Dom" look like?
Is marriage something you could picture in your future? Or are you not so much the marrying kind?
If you have a surprise afternoon off, what is your favorite thing to do?
When you're really in the mood to indulge yourself, what are some of the things you do?
Are you an animal lover?

There's a new sheriff in town, folks! Y'all best get used to it. Well, at least for the month of August anyway. :p

Dom is free to answer the questions that were asked of him during his week in the room. Right now though, it's time to let him out and strap in a new participant.

Ladies and gentlemen, this week in the Interrogation Room, please direct your questions to the one and only...

DFARADAY

We'll start off with a few easy questions:

1) How did you discover the game of mafia?

2) What led you to The Syndicate?

3) What is the favorite role you ever had (good or bad)?

1) How did you discover the game of mafia?

I used to be on the Lostpedia forums, and signed up for Heroes Mafia there.

2) What led you to The Syndicate?

A bunch of people I knew from that site moved here.

3) What is the favorite role you ever had (good or bad)?
The Nesting Doll in Recruitment Mafia III. LC (who was hosting) said I was playing the best civvie game he had ever seen. :noble:

Musical soundtracks, classical, and classic rock (in particular the Beatles, Queen, ELO, and CCR)
- Favorite WWE wrestler?
Currently, Luke Harper. Of all time, Eddie Guerrero.
- Do you prefer being civilian or mafia?
Civvie, it's much easier for me.
- What is your most treasured moment as civilian?
Some game back way back on RM, where I was the last confirmed civvie, and the game hinged on whether I would trust Bea in the last lynch. I did, and we won.
- What is your most treasured moment as mafia?
Killing Batman in Arkham Mafia. :p

I'll think of more! I'm not good at this though. Come on folks, ask DF some stuff!

How did you get involved in the arts? Background, etc;
What's your favorite musical- do you still perform?
Where would you like to retire if you could retire now?
Where would you like to retire if you retired towards your later years?
Do you speak any other languages?
Dude, where's my car?
Cats or dogs?

Why do you find it easier on you to be a civ?
Do you have a girlfriend/boyfriend?

DF!

Who is your favorite character on lost? and why is is Vincent?
Favorite is actually Faraday, shockingly enough. :p Runnersup include Hurley, Claire, and Radzinsky.
How did you get involved in the arts? Background, etc;
I'm not? I watched musicals from a young age and came to love them, but I would never want to perform in front of people. I do have plans to write musicals someday though. And write lots of things in general.
What's your favorite musical- do you still perform?
That's a hard one. It's a toss up between Fiddler on the Roof, Carousel, and Beauty and the Beast.
Where would you like to retire if you could retire now?
Here, because everyone I know is here. But I would like to visit London, Tokyo, New Zealand, and Canada.
Where would you like to retire if you retired towards your later years?
Here, because I'll be old and need the heat. Here is San Antonio, btw.
Do you speak any other languages?
Some Spanish, but not as well as I should. My dad is fluent, but I didn't pick up enough of it. :sigh:
Dude, where's my car?
Not in New York, right?
Cats or dogs?
Cats. I have two.
Would you rather be able to fly at a slow, walking pace or run at 35 mph but tiring as much as if you were walking.
Run, because it would be more useful and would attract less attention.

I'd like to write for the performing arts (TV, stage), but that's all.
Why do you find it easier on you to be a civ?
Because I don't have to make up opinions (although sometimes I still do).
Do you have a girlfriend/boyfriend?
I actually have little interest in sexuality and/or romance, so no.
Tell us a little about her/him.
See above. :noble:
If not, what kind of person appeals to you?
She'd have to be intelligent, humble, and share my faith.
Are you a book person? If so favorite book and why?
I love reading! My favorite of all time is the Hobbit (appropriate that this is your question then :D ).
Are you playing Pokemon Go?
No, I'm not into fads. I am rewatching the show on Netflix though.
Do you play any video games?
Yes, but they're mostly very old ones. My favorite might be Star Wars: Episode I: Racer for N64.
Favorite TV show that is not Lost?
That's a tough one. I'm going to say Buffy.
Ok, thats it for now -

Yes, I like Faraday because he is awkward, nervous, and academic, like me.

Least favorite is Kate. Her flashbacks were mostly uninteresting, she continually made stupid decisions, and she was whiny. When she got shot in Season 6, I was like, "Yes! It's finally happening!" And then she lived. :p
