Seriously sprityo, there were multiple moments where I was ready to give you civilian credit. I thought you looked pretty genuine at face value. The interactions were in conflict with that, and it made for an uncertain read. POE would have doomed you, so you've made the right call, but hold your head high. The circumstances were brutal.

Yep. The contestants are the ones accruing fantasy points based upon which of us they put on their rosters. The winning roster earns an indy win (though I suspect there may be ties unless the doctor blew it up).

His name is Detrez Newsome, and he plays for the Los Angeles Chargers.

Once upon a time, he sat in the first row of my American Literature class in the first year I taught in North Carolina.

He was a great student, and we used to always joke that if he made it pro, he'd send me a check and take care of me.

I doubt he remembers me, but I remember him.



He's minimum price. One touchdown pays off that salary and then some. Maybe in time he will take care of me, just not in the way we joked about.
