I'm fine with whatever would cause the most hilarity. OMP and NMP seem like they could do just that, especially if we keep interchangeably switching our own designations without telling anyone else, and acting all indignant when someone messes it up.

I guess I did pretty good as my mafia team all made it to then end and a bunch of the members suggested I join them here. I enjoyed myself immensely and am looking forward to playing again!

Good to see you again as well, I liked the Syndicate people I saw on JTM so I figured I would try this out as well.

I've played one game on JTM, one game on Mafia Scum though that was awhile ago and two on GTF.

I find it interesting you don't allow meta gaming or switching lynch votes right?

The switching lynch votes (or changeable votes, as we call it) system depends on the Host of each individual game. Usually it is not implemented.

Indeed, I've played a handful of games with changeable votes, but more typically they are final once cast.

I've never played a game here with meta gaming here, but that's because the roles in every game that's been hosted here to date, except one, are open setup (all roles are listed), and thus role claiming is disallowed.

Anything is allowed here, really, it's up to the Host's discretion. I plan on hosting/co-hosting two closed setup games in the next hosting queue where claims and meta gaming would be allowed.

I probably won't know how to adapt to playing those. I'll be eaten alive by the players who come from other sites and are way more familiar with it.

I'm very much looking forward to the tables turning. I think it'll be a lot of fun, since obviously the majority of folks here will feel less at home with the closed role setup, but will all be treading water together and know each other pretty well. Meanwhile, the minority coming from other sites will feel more at home with the setup, but will feel less comfortable with the players' metas and such.

It will be interesting to play with the vote is final thing, I have only played with changeable votes so far.

It definitely changes the dynamic of the game. :P

But seriously, I've played mafia for 5 years now, and all of the games I played for the longest time were open setup and final votes, but that seemed to be general culture among sites that grew out of the Lostpedia-based mafia community.

Since then, I've played on various sites, and while at first I hated changeable votes when Hosts started experimenting with them here, they've definitely grown on me, and I just treat them as two different mechanics. Inevitably, it alters the way I approach the game a bit, but not drastically.
