Favorite ice cream flavor.
I don't know. Maybe Marie Curie. I'm sure she was incredible and I'd love to pick her brain

I don't really like philosophy though I've tried.

favorite ice cream flavor is Phish Food
I've never tried Phish Food before, but I love Ben&Jerry's. I will have to check it out when I get ice cream again (crying over weight loss)

open an english speaking vet practice in the south west of france and flourish as so many expats struggle! also retirement here is good, i hear, especially now that lepen isn't winning the elections lol.

what's the most surprising thing about parenthood so far?

i know you tried fried pickles during pregnancy, but did you get any other unusual food cravings?

do you like to wear socks or be barefoot around the house?

toilet paper: over or under?

Most surprising thing is that you don't always feel instant connection to the baby. It took a week or two for me to really fall head over heels for her

I didnt get other unusual cravings. Just sushi cravings (which is normal for me)

I walk around barefoot

toiler paper is always over. Under is for anarchists

Would you ever consider moving back to Japan?

Do you read a lot (prolly not now for sure)? If you do/did do you have a 'top 5' books or any book you consider 'significant' to you personally?

What would you say is your most controversial non-mafia related opinion?

Who or what influenced you most in becoming the person you are today?

yEs I would move back to Japan

I don't have a top 5 books, but I love the Assassin books by Robin Hobb, Belgariad by David Eddings. A wrinkle in time by L'engle. Fahrenheit 451 by Bradbury. Enchantment by orson scott card

I dont know about a controversial opinion tbh. Probably that I support capital punishment

I think the vet I shadowed in middle school had the biggest impact on me. Her and Paula Danziger (children's author who helped me with bullying issues). I turned my life around in the 7th grade. Was having issues evreywhere, battling depression, etc. By 8th grade I was a straight A student and wasnt bullied anymore. Part of it was taking a Johns Hopkins CAA course over the summer. Some of it was my older brother finally moving away.

Red bean paste or no thanks?
i prefer the sakurambo flavoring but red bean is good
Hmm... I had some matcha white bean paste the other day; might try to get that in mochi one of these days. Homemade ftw lol.

My favourite filling was probably chestnut paste because YUMMMMMMM, but I could be down with sakura-based stuff. Cherry-flavoured items are usually either amazing or terrible for my tastes.

A Wrinkle in Time was the most impactful book I read as a child, I was mesmerized by it. Imagine my delight when I started work for a company in Tampa where the HR database was named Tesseract! Ray Bradbury was also an important influence.

Thank you for sharing your story about how you turned your life around. So glad the vet and author were there for you and you took the JH CAA course, and got rid of the bro.

Chestnut mochi is my husband's favorite so we buy it pre-made somewhat regularly.

I'm proud of my clinic. I worked really hard from ground zero to make a practice and we're profitable. I'm proud of my veterinary degree. It was a rough go and vet school is hard. There were times I didn't think I'd make it. And I'm proud of my choice in life partner

what is your current biggest fear?

do you have a really memorable family vacation?

which would you rather do: wash dishes, mow the lawn, clean the bathroom, or vacuum the house?

do you have a cute nickname?

aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?

what was your first job?

what's your favorite fast food chain?

Heights. It comes from my most memorable family vacation. We went to Zermatt and the Matterhorn and I was running down part of the mountain and couldn't stop. I was about 5 at the time? There was a cliff edge and someone managed to catch me before I hit it. They told me they were just there becauase they felt like it. Had never left the US before but felt they needed to go to Switzerland. My brother and I are the only ones that remember this vacation though

I'd rather wash dishes. And do, rather regularly. Vacuuming the house is easy though because we have a roomba.

I have friends that call me kitty cat. I think that's as cute as it gets

I can't go without talking to my husband. He's my rock

My first job was as a camp counselor at a summer day camp. Unless you count cleaning up pinecones for my grandmother for a quarter a bag

favorite fast food chain is probably mcdonalds. It was everywhere we went overseas and has really consistent comfort food for me

I love wearing pajamas in the house. That's my favorite comfort item.
Spoiler: show
screw bras
I dont have a favorite blanket but use one often because my cat likes to cuddle with me if I have one.

favorite decorative items in my house are my kimono - it's red, silver, and gold and hangs on the wall in my house. I also love the print we have up in Amy's room.

Apologies if this has already been asked and answered:
What is something you wish you had known before becoming a new parent?

2. What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you?
3. Would you rather fight 3 marmot-sized humans or 1 human-sized marmot?
4. Shower in the morning or night?
5. If someone offered you $5 million to let a wild bat bite you, and you weren’t allowed to treat it, would you take the gamble?

I wish I had known that babies sometimes cry in their sleep. That one really took me by surprise

I swallowed a watch battery when i was 4 and it had to be retrieved via a magnet down the throat to make me vomit
