I'm sorry for an impending delay, but my mind is 100% distracted from this and I should be sleeping (I'll be doing so momentarily; only reason I'm not is due to nerves, lol), and so I'll need to mull over my choice for the DM with a fresh perspective. Literally everyone in the theatre had a loud verbal reaction to that. I believe for me it was somewhere in-between a groan and "Holy shit!" Maybe my favorite theatre moment in years.

Incredible movie. I kind of read the supernatural aspects of the film as a metaphor for how mental illness and trauma can compound over generations, dooming people immediately after they're born. Family unit as a venus flytrap. What did you glean from the film?

ohhhh interesting theory. That makes sense as a thematic standpoint- I was having trouble grasping what the genre was really trying to be, which left me confused as a whole. The miniatures never really made their way into the storyline at all, and I’m very unsure about how the possession was happening. Was what we saw mostly Annie’s DID? Why did she light on fire the first time she burned the book and then when she threw it in later he burned? And that THAT was what finally possessed her for final form to stalk poor Peter? We can assume all of the family were just pawns in the ritual, so then what was the point of everything?

What the film did right is keep us engaged and suspended in anticipation the entire time. Not too many cheap jump scares. I just left having more unanswered questions than not. Sorta like It Comes At Night, except at least that one made sense as a theme of the thing we fear is fear itself. This one? Uhhhhhh hail Satan?

As of now, they are both under BTSC lockdown. No one else can contact them via PM or other methods, and they can't contact anyone else. The other 5 players still enjoy Open BTSC.
