Hedgeowl was having a bad night. It seemed like nothing was going her way.

Suddenly, she saw a shiny penny on the sidewalk just outside the dark alley and thought, "Finally, my luck is turning around!"

As she bent over to pick it up, she felt a heavy weight collide with her head.

What happened to her next is best left to the imagination.

Hedgeowl has been killed by Franz Kindler.
Hedgeowl has also been killed by Cody Jarrett.
Everything about Hedgeowl has been obliterated.
You have 24 hours to find out who would do such a terrible thing.

Rip, sir. Pretty sure you were good.
I don't know, I kind of thought the opposite.
He pinned the final vote on Dom, which is the type of evidence I trust most.
I thought he might be Indy, but they used their one kill on him, so that seems unlikely now.

You and I have radically different approaches to assigning trust in this game, of course.
By the numbers, he was probably a civ - otherwise he was playing some high-risk games with his teammates.
Not impossible, of course, and I'd never treat it as *proof*.. But still solid evidence of civness IMO.

Off meds - stone cleared, thank god. Very little sleep however.

nev - you tend to look at votes at patterns at things you can logically see.

SVS - plays by gut and instinct.

This is - of course not new to either of you - but you both are always right and always wrong. You both have blind sides in the way you play. (I do too. Many blind sides in fact) - but what I love about the both of you this game - is how you both recognize that and are working together. :D It makes me happy.

nev - sorry to hear about the kidney stones. I hear how aweful they are from a girl prospective. I can only imagine how bad they are if you are a boy. :( rest well and rest long my friend.

So hedgy was killed by both the mafia and the indiys yes? or am I mis remembering the roles?

Those are both mafia roles, but one of them kills 'randomly' - that's why I said we got lucky with that kill.

And I used to try to use my instincts and gut feelings about things, but I was so *consistently* wrong that I decided to just quit trying that.
Now 'gut' for me is basically a code word for "information I'm not telling you".

I'd love to trust SVS's instincts about things, but I have no information at all about her alignment this game :-\
And gut feelings are a lot easier to fake than in-thread visible evidence.
I spend a lot of effort most games trying to figure out whether she's a civ, because I do really like to borrow her instincts when it's possible.
Sadly, her votes have revealed very little information about her, and there's not much else to work with yet.

LOL, I know Nein, we really do play two different games I think.

I think though that you may be right about K4J, and not I, since it appears that we still have 2 baddie killings that there are at least 2 left still, which makes it less likley that K4J was one.

I still think Timmer is a good bet, tbh. He came in and saved Dom (and i was the first one to cast suspicion on Dom, lol).

If I don't reply to this, you'll say I'm "ignoring your post", but I really don't have anything to say to that.
I'm not bad?

And really guys? SVS? I don't think I see the case. Really - did someone post a case I missed?
I'm going to vote for Timmer, because there's decent timing evidence, and I don't see anything on SVS at all.

I gave Dom the botd~ I was the first to draw attention to him, but did not totally trust my gut, and somehow that means I am saving him more than the person, TIMMER, who actually was saving him. And Lizzy is miffed at me for saying I trusted her (in a one Mafia game where the baddies KNOW who is not a baddie, lol) I guess.

If it was true that S~V~S liked to listen to her gut, she would find that considerably harder to do once the increasingly frenzied mob of investigators disemboweled her. To say nothing of what they did with her ears.

Fleeing the dark (and now rather noisome) alley, the group found themselves on a major street, where a brightly lit marquee advertised a bout of heavyweight pugilism. A crowd of people milled anxiously about, thirsty for the blood and sweat of what was sure to be a brutal fight. If only they knew what they had just missed, their appetites for violence may not have been so great.

"We're getting nowhere!" said Vompatti. "We're no closer to finding the killer, and we're tearing each other to bits!"

"Forget it, Vomps," said A Person. "It's Chinatown."

"No it isn't," said Lizzy. "It's midtown, if anything."

No one had a map handy, so they had to take her word for it.

S~V~S has been lynched. She was Billy Wilder.

An Indy, huh? I'm still not clear on their win conditions, so I can't even say if I'm happy about that outcome :-\
SVS killed someone I was pretty sure was a civ, but then she claimed she felt the opposite about him..
I don't know. I guess a reread is in order, since she had btsc - I'll take a look at the votes again tomorrow morning.

We'll almost certainly have lost if we don't get a baddie this lynch, and it seems like this game has been *really* fast.
I'm confused, because it feels like we've been doing really well, but we're still on the edge of losing.

Strangeness on a Train

"Hey, I hear a train a'comin' in the distance!" shouted Vompatti.

"Let's jump it!" Bea declared.

Running pace with the train, they jumped aboard one by one. SVS reached out her arm to A Person, pulling him aboard.

"That was a close call!" Nevinera said.

"Too close," Timmer said.

"Hey, I think I have granola bars in my bag," Lizzy said, sitting down against the wall of the train car, opening her bag.

A shriek was heard. The detectives turned to see Bea plummeting from the train.

I was leaning toward timmer before, but SVS flipping Indy gives me pause.
Since they killed one civ, I think it makes sense to think that they need civs dead,
And SVS really seemed to want timmer dead.

Does anyone have a clue what their win con could be?
If they need both teams to die, they'd just be mafia, and if they could win with anyone,
having a kill doesn't really make sense.. It's making my voting analysis kind of tough.

Host Linki, but I'm not sure what to make of a bea NK.

Nev, seriously? There are two active killer baddies on the loose and now we're going to look for some helpless indie who might very well be dead at this point? I believe SVS really thought K4J was bad and frankly, I wasn't feeling great about him either. To me, that vote for Dom is meaningless. If I were his teammate, I would have gladly planted that last nail on his coffin to make myself look more credible. And even if we don't know the indies' win conditions, they'd still want to get rid of a couple of baddies to either look good, or make sure the baddies don't get them first. I thought Timmer was one of those indies, and SVS the rotten one, but by the looks of it, it might be the other way round. So unless something interesting happens, my vote will most likely go to Timmer. I'll trust SVS post mortem. :p

SVS, that ghost smiley is amazing. It should be officially added k.

I was planning on voting timmer again, because he's the only one with evidence against him, but I'm interested.
Why did you think Timmer was an indy and SVS a baddie? Was there some interaction there that provoked your interest?

Guys, I'm not a baddie or an indy, I'm civ. I've played a fairly quiet game because I'm in 4 at once (well, 3 now) and I've felt stretched. The only reason anyone can give to even call me bad is my vote against fh on day ONE. Think about that. At this point, I can only assume that the remaining baddies are among the quietest players? Unfortunately I'll have to hold my vote to save myself.

I'm not used to you agreeing with me, and it's making me feel a little steered.
It all started with this semi-joking observation. It then began to actually make sense and I took it into consideration when Wilder killed K4J. Timmer had been the only one who voted for him the day before he died. Like I said, I wasn't feeling all warm and fuzzy inside in regards to K4J, and at the time I thought it was a good choice for an indie kill. Looking back at it all, it does fall into place that SVS went after K4J. He didn't have a very good voting record, with the exception of that odd vote for Dom, and it did look like he was trying to save a teammate when there was that tie between Roxy and SVS.

As for SVS, I do not trust people who label me as a civilian or try to buddy up to me. Not on day 1 anyway. She has been inconsistent as far as Dom was concerned and the fact that someone as dangerous as non-baddie SVS was kept alive for so long, and that I was kept alive for so long.

Also, I don't rely on feels, because history has shown that mine are not very good. I do seem to rely on the metagame quite a bit, which may not necessarily be the best strategy. :\ And I don't see how I was agreeing with you, except now about all evidence pointing towards Timmer.

The tone of his posts lately has been very sketchy, his post after the last lynch even more so. I don't have any evidence but I feel like there is no way he'd say the things he has unless he was bad.
