So is this the best show on television right now or what?

I absolutely cannot wait for the final eight episodes!!! At the same time though, I can't believe that's all we have left. I am sure Vince Gilligan will deliver to high expectations though.

It really is awesome, and stays awesome throughout which is rare. I'm not sure I'd give it the number one slot but definitely top 5.

We should do one of those best show ever countdowns like we used to do on LP. Maybe I'll start one up? MP, you ok with that?

Sure, that sounds good!

And I'm not sure I'd give it number 1 overall in my all-time favorites, but it's in my top 5 as well. It's definitely in my number 1 slot of any shows currently on right now though.

I thought it was going to be hardcore and serious. It's brilliant black comedy. Does it stay this way?

Did you think the ending/finale was too easy? I mean the whole series we get these moments out of left field, but then the finale wrapped up rather predictably (in great contrast to the penultimate episode).

You could think about it that way, but I disagree. There was no better way to end it IMO. The big collapse came in Ozymandias; the finale wasn't designed to be this huge twist out of left field, I think, and I personally believe it's better that way.

You guys, Terry Gross interviewed the writers/producers of Breaking Bad on Fresh Air today. It was so good. I listened to it at noon and then I listened to it again at 7. Please give it a shot. It's probably the only time someone has said "Bye B****es" on NPR. Ha.

I was, yes, especially at first, but it was necessary to drive the story and to give Walt what he really deserved, starting the beginning of the collapse of his family -- it needed to happen. But it was still upsetting.

We just finished the season.

1. This was one of the greatest TV programs of all time.

2. This had one of the most unsatisfying final episodes of all time.

I suppose I'm being harsh. If anything, the finale was decidedly honest and believable. And perhaps appropriate.

Maybe I'm just sad to see the series end.

I can relate entirely. I was really, really sad when it ended. I rewatched the second half of Season 5 with Annie since she didn't watch it live -- and it was even better, somehow. Made me even more sad though. I still am.

I'm going to rewatch the entire series at some point, but I'll probably wait a month or two.

For sure. I always liked Bryan Cranston as an actor, but after this show I have a completely different level of respect for him. And that's just the protagonist, let alone the other actors and all of the writers.

The ending was perfect, really, even though it does make me sad. A huge contrast to the LOST ending, IMO.
