Talk about the Mafia Championship Finale here!

Everyone on the site except for Golden and Sloonei can see this. :nicenod:

Cool!

I think "silver" looks really bad on Day 1. I think they're on the right track to be considering that lynch, and I'd be surprised if it went awry.

My early take on Golden and Sloonei is town and less town respectively. Sloonei is leaving more room for doubt, but I still don't quite see anything bad -- just more of an absence of good.

WhiskeyJack screamed town to me immediately and that hasn't changed.

This RNG stuff is painful to watch. I would never bother. I'd probably get lynched.

I would for sure get lynched.

"what's the difference between your scum and town game?"

Like I'm telling you pal. Get bent!

I'm not sure they'd be so quick to lynch you, but you'd definitely infuriate them. :haha:

I've only read the first page but if I were playing I'd say he'd lost his credibility by saying everything was bad or fake

The ego clash of the first real-time day seems to have subsided and leveler heads are prevailing. I saw less of that in the qualifier games. I think letting out a little ego is sometimes necessary to play with an edge, but it can easily be taken too far and lead to either tunneling or directionless ruses. This looks like a formidable town group.

I'm definitely guilty of it sometimes too. :p

I was all over the place in Turf Wars when I let the ego have too much freedom.

That was disappointing. There was no way I was going to be able to keep up or make a meaningful contribution so I didn't feel like holding down a spot in the game when any of the replacements would probably do a better job than me. Plus I was really disheartened by the response I got when I asked for help.

I do not think I should say much about things though, even if this thread is private.

Like I said on PWYW, I don't think the others at the time really gave you much of a chance when you asked for help -- you were victimized by ego more than anything truly about Mafia.

Honestly don't even worry about it Sloonei. You did what you could. Everyone's a stranger in these games and I think that makes it easier for some people to act rude.

Yeah, I agree. It's their loss, not yours.

Thanks dudes. I'm not beating myself up about it. I'm honestly relieved to be free of the commitment. It would have been much too much for me at this time. I was going to back out regardless.

Golden should find himself in an interesting position this day phase. He was a vocal opponent of jelte (who has since claimed cop and lead the successful lynch of red-peeked Apoc). He actually seems like he's being scapegoated to me since a bunch of people suspected jelte before that cop claim beyond just him.

I am less secure in calling him town than I was before, but not because of the jelte read. I am more concerned with the post count -- busy is busy of course, but the pace of this game is intense and that's difficult for any baddie to keep up with.

I don't think Golden's self-vote antics look like a scum move.

I haven't been reading this game at all, though I just today read the last half of Golden's ISO and based on that alone, I'd be absolutely shocked if he's mafia. I'd stake my reputation on him being town.

There's a semi-reasonable chance either Sloosor or Golden could be lynched. I understand the suspicion of Visor more than that of Golden, but I am not as sold on it as some of them seem to be. I actually find myself agreeing with Roman most frequently.

Except when it comes to Silver, who if town is just a baffling player to me.

If Sorian is scum I will laugh, because nobody listened to Sloonei on Day 1 about that.

Silver looks like a scum who is desperate for a mislynch, and Golden is his choice target. Nobody is buying what he's selling though, because it's so transparently vacant of meaningful accusations. Even if Golden is scum there have got to be better things to attack him with that he has been obsessing over. It all reads so fake.

Tough task for Sloonei to roll scum in both tourny games. That stinks, I am sure he wanted to get his town game out there at least once.

I did. I threw my phone across the room in frustration when I saw my rolecard. :)

It probably sped up my dropping out a bit too. I didn't feel like faking an effort when I knew I wouldn't be able to stick around past the first day.

Actually I might have even stuck around if I was town. But as scum in a gake where I was 20 pages behind off the bat and pressed for time, I knew I'd either have to resort to lurker scum which is the lamest thing I could imagine doing in a championship game, or give myself away immediately and get lynched, which is also no fun.

The game is over, so we can let Golden in here now. Golden was vanilla town and part of the winning team. :D

It was a town slaughter with numerous significant contributors, so it's hard to say how the voting will go. It's pretty wide open. I have a feeling the power roles (Sorian and jelte) will have an advantage just because they always do, and I suspect Whiskeyjack will get votes. I think Golden has a shot though. One of the scum tried so hard to turn him into a mislynch and he didn't allow it.

I believe I am now unable to compete again thanks to making the final, just like jj and sloon.

We should send epic next year. Or unleash mp on the unsuspecting mortals.

However the voting goes, you both did a great job in the tournament and represented your homes wonderfully (and kind of by extension, each other's homes). Next year it'd be fascinating to see Epignosis and MacDougall doing this. :ponder:

MP showed in the scrimmage here too that he can hang with anyone too.

I don't deserve to feature in the top five. faZ, Whiskeyjack, Sorian, jelte and Newcomb should realistically be those players, or maybe Roman.

But I feel pretty happy with the way I played. I don't think I sit far outside the group, and the reason I'm not in it is because so many players played so well. It will not feel like a slight at all.

Sloon - I'm sorry you had to go. Not surprised and it was the right thing to do, but I really would have loved to have played that finale out with you.

I've secretly been salty for the last year because I never got to know my own position in the finale voting. I don't know if I was 4th place just outside the players recognized or if I received zero votes. :P

Same here. I really wish I had played, even if it would have been far from my best.

I actually felt just like you, Golden. I didn't feel I played my best game, but I did feel like I contributed something meaningful to my team's win and I had no problems at all with the people who took the top 3.
