No one can match your sheer effort when you're a townie firing on all cylinders. Definitely deserved. Glad to see Golden and Sloonei got some recognition though; they both give you a run for your money!

Seriously though - epi, rico, MP & Daisy - you were all so good as hosts this year, it was impossible to choose.

You were very sharp yourself, Goldman. I had all the high hopes going into BSG and all were fulfilled, from the viewpoint of watching a theme blossom into adaptation and experiencing it via play.

Congrats Jay! Any of the three of you would be deserving of that awards. I imagine the voting was extremely close for that one.

"What?" Adama asked.

"Sorry for the confusion, sir. And that's not the end of it. We decoded something shocking."

"Well," Adama fumed. "Out with it!"

"It turns out that the Galactica is a Socky."

"What the frak are you talking about?" Adama roared.

"We checked the schematics, and it's true. Look here- there's the inscription."

Adama read it and tried to make sense of this news.

"Best Theme?" he pondered. "But if we're a Cylon Socky, then what does this mean for humanity?"

I think in terms of the theme feeling immersive to the point that it felt like more than just a game of Mafia, BG was the premier choice. Well done, Golden. After the game I blasted through all four seasons of the reboot series pretty quickly.

There have been Cylons everywhere on the Syndicate for months and I'm upset that I missed the game they come from. Whatever was happening in there, I'm sure it's very well deserving of the win.
Rico got my vote. Like I said earlier, I'm bummed I had to bail on GY!BE. That was one of the most flavorful setups I've ever seen. I loved it.

Indeed, I cannot emphasize how much this community really means to me. You all are many of my closest friends, and I'm incredibly proud that the 'I'm going to start my own mafia site' vision that I developed in 2012 is still alive and burning now. It wouldn't be without all of you contributing epic games as hosts as well as incredible player performances. Thank you all so much for your continued contributions to this community, which really holds a special place in my life.

I will never forget just how fucking floored I was when I found out you were mafia in that game. I was literally 100% confident you were town. It blew my mind for days. Lol. If Quin hadn't wiped the floor with town in Mad Max and more people paid attention to Heists, I think you might have pulled that win off for your performance in that game alone.

There were so many great baddie performances last year.

Heists are definitely underappreciated. I'm a big fan of simplicity, which bigger games often don't do.

Heists always end up being way more fun than I expect them to be. I should probably just expect them to be a lot of fun. Because that's what they are.

Heists have quickly become my new favorite game type, so I agree. It's a lot harder for mafia to hide since there are less players, but with a more quick game progression, it also can be tough to win as a town team as well. The games are just so tight too. Role madness games are always fun, but as a player I've found that nothing beats the simplicity of a three non-vanilla role limit. It's just that awesome core of mafia. I love Heists.

Burglaries were definitely a success too! I'd love to participate in and see more of them in 2017. We definitely need more volunteer hosts. Burglaries can happen anytime, not just special occasions, so let's get these things rolling again. If you're reading this and want to host a burglary, talk about it in the Burglary hosting thread!

Glad everyone had fun. I apologize for the delays to write posts. About 1/3 of the time you were waiting I was trying to post but you guys wouldn't shut up in the thread!

Had I had an extra hour for prep, I could have pre-written some stuff to cut down the delay times and hashed out a plan to include the other Sockey organizers much more. Sorry for hijacking the awards show aspect. And thank you for jumping in when my daughter got sick. Thankfully it wasn't as heinous as what happened Thursday night. *shudders*
