READ THESE RULES, BROTHA

Game rules and advice:

1) The game is a closed set up, which means no roles will be revealed before the start of the games. All players who die will have their full role card (identity, alignment, win condition and abilities) revealed upon their death, regardless of whether they are lynched or nightkilled. There are only three power roles, but it is not known what they are. It should not be presumed that they are all necessarily useful. For example, a civ tracker could be offset by the killer being untrackable. A mafia godfather does not imply a civilian cop. A blocker does not imply that there are roles able to be blocked.

2) Role claiming and Roleplaying are heavily encouraged. Lets make this feel as much like the show as we can, everyone! I strongly encourage everyone to at least take a passing glance at Season One - at least my posts - the games live in the same rules universe, and it might give you a sense of what peoples role cards might look like etc.

3) Days will last 48 hours. All players need to vote in the poll during the day, and at the end of the day the player with the most votes will be lynched.

4) Nights will last 24 hours.

5) Generally speaking, you are required to post in white. This is the hosts colour. You may post in dead red when you are dead, but you cannot post on topic. Anyone who is not playing may post off topic in non player blue. Living players have to use OT green to post off topic. Anyone being pedantic should use pedantic pink, because it is awesome.

6) You may not post in the thread any PM from the host. You may role claim and also claim any ability should you want to.

7) All votes are changeable. Don't try to vote for G-Man. Just don't.

8) You yet again cannot lynch the marmot on day one, as much as you may want to, because he is still not going back to the island. The smoke marmot monster wants you to know he ate all the other marmots. Or else ripped their limbs off, if he felt sorry for them.

9) Juliets is the Mod on duty. Please contact her if you have any issues with other players or your host.

Checking in. As many of you know, I'm notsawyer. I am also not sawyer.

Season 3 is both my favorite and least favorite season of LOST. Either way, glad to be here!

G-Man, have you ever looked closely at a moth when it's on its way out of its cocoon? It makes its way out even though it doesn't have long to live. Sphinx moths live two, maybe three months. Yucca moths, two days if they're lucky. And yet, all kinds of moths struggle and slaw their way out just the same. Why do they do that, G-Man? Why do they claw their way out knowing they're going to die so soon? They do it because the moths know that with what little time they have left, they are meant to accomplish something. They have a destiny to fulfill. Just like us, G-Man. So use the time you have left to accomplish what the Island wants you to accomplish. Figure out what you're needed for. Then do it, before your time runs out.

Funnily enough, this reminds me of a choose-your-own-adventure style gamebook I started working on back in my DarkUFO days. You are a redshirt trying to survive the show. I feel like I had Season 1 pretty well mapped out but I gave up on it when Season 5 got all time trippy and wrote off (or killed off) all the redshirts. I'll have to go back and see if I have any of those old files. It might be something we could build off of.
