Has GMan revealed the method to role order or if the night polls did anything?

The method to the role order is as follows:

1) Use random.org to randomize the full role list
2) Highlight the first 21 roles
3) Use random.org to randomize the player list
4) Match up the randomized player list to the first 21 roles

There really was no magic to it. I kept randomizing the role list until #69 landed in the first 21. I knew i wanted that role in action on Day 1. Otherwise, I only nudged a few roles here and there to prevent too many similar roles from existing at the same time (#9 & #43). I tried not to meddle with the order too much because I didn't know which roles would die when and the role spread looked adequate enough as randomized. As a result, some teams wound up front-loaded and were non-factors later because some of those front-loaded roles died off in the Prime plan purges.

As far as night polls, yes. The polls for Night 1-11 did exactly what they said they would. Extra votes and bonus votes were non-factors because so many early votes were landslides when people volunteered to be lynched in favor of a new role. The Night 13 poll was a ruse, as evidence by the Night 14 poll. Night 18's poll was legit but then I backed off of the shenanigans because we were reaching a point where it might influence the game too much. Every poll from Night 20 on had no impact whatsoever but were used to name-drop many of the number sequences and classifications that I found when designing the game.
