The game of mafia where every post must be an image.

SETUP

CIVILIANS

Win the game if they eliminate the mafia and the Serial Killer.

Cop (1) - Can investigate a player every night. Gets result Guilty or Not Guilty.
Doctor (1) - Can protect a player from one kill each night. Can self-protect.
Roleblocker (1) - Can prevent one player from using actions each night.
Vigilante (1) - Can kill a player at night. Two-shot. Shots are not consumed if the vigilante is roleblocked.
Vanilla Civilians (9) - No abilities.

MAFIA

Win the game if they eliminate all other players, of if this is impossible to avoid. Have BTSC. Can kill every night.

Godfather (1) - Appears as Not Guilty when investigated by the cop.
Roleblocker (1) - Can prevent one player from using actions each night.
Janitor (1) - If the janitor makes the night kill, only the mafia will learn the role of the dead player.
Mafia Goon (1) - No abilities.

INDEPENDENT

Serial Killer (1) - Can kill each night. Survives the first kill that hits them. Wins the game if they are the last player alive.

RULES (please read before posting):

Standard Rules

- This game is dividided in day phases and night phases, which last approximately 24 hours each.

- Day phases are when you make votes. The poll will lock exactly 24 hours after it is posted, and afterwards I will come here are early as possible to make the end of day post.

- Night phases are when you are allowed to send actions, if you have any. Actions will be accepted 23 hours after the end of day write-up is posted. The final hour will be used by me to process actions, and to correct previous delays in day/night starts.

- Voting is done through the poll. I do not require players to announce their votes in the thread or use fancy tags, though it is usually considered common etiquette to do so. But since this is a game where posting is difficult, don't feel restricted from voting if you can't post your vote at the time too. I will only look at the poll.

- Self-voting and changing votes is allowed. In case of ties, the lynch result will be resolved at random.

- You must post at least once per day/night cycle. Failure to do so will be considered inactivity. If you are inactive in two different days/night cycles, I will replace you (until Night 3) or modkill you (Day 4 onwards). if you are going to be unable to be online for a short period, please tell me in advance so I may give you some leeway. Dead players may be used for replacements depending on the case.

- Double targetting is not allowed. A player may not use a single action on the same player two consecutive nights.

- Role revealing and all forms of info dumping are allowed. But do not post screenshots of any conversations with the host/mod.

- All players who die in the day or in the night will have their roles revealed, unless a Janitor role interferes.

- Town and Mafia players will win with their teams, whether they are alive or dead.

- Talking with people about the game in any places other than this thread, or BTSC channels authorized by me are not allowed.

- Dead players must post in red. Non-players must post in blue. Off-topic posts must be in green. I will use this color.

- If you have any questions about game mechanics or image posting, please contact me, either in the thread or in PMs, and I will help you as much as I can. If you have any problems about disagreements with other players or with me, or issues preventing you from having a healthy enjoyment of the game, please contact JaggedJimmyJay. He will be our Game Facilitator.

Image Rules

- Every game related post must be consisted of only images.

- Off-topic, Dead and Non-Player posts will be allowed to use text (I encourage them to use images in order to keep with the flavor, but I won't enforce it). Posts containing technical questions on how to post or host images, or about game mechanics, will be allowed to use text, as long as you write them in Off-Topic green. But all regular mafia play must be in images only. If you have doubt if something is allowed or not, ask me first by PM.

- Images are divided in two types: Regular Images and Text Images.

Regular Images are any image that does not have text edited into it. A Regular Image may have text, as long as it is part of the original photo. Smileys and animated gifs also count as Regular Images under those rules. Your challenge is to find ways to communicate without using words. For example, a picture of a dragon followed by a picture of a mafioso to say you think DDL is mafia:

Text Images are your cheat button. They are any image that has text edited into it, and can be used by you to post text normally in a moment of need. Each player will be allowed to post up to 5 Text Images per day/night cycle. In the event that a Mafia or Independent is lynched, every player who voted for them will be given an extra 2 Text Images to use in the next day/night cycle. Example:

- No images may contain more than 30 words in them, regardlessly of whether they are Regular Images with a photo of the text, or Text Images with text edited into them. (Rule added at the start of Night 1)

- If you accidentally surpass the limit of Text Images you are allowed to post in a cycle, you will not be able to post Text Images in the following day. If you accidentally post game-relevant text, you will lose your right to post Text Images for a day the first time this happens, and will be silenced from posting for a day whenever it happens again.

- This is already a forum rule, but it's good to reinforce. Absolutely no posting of images containing pornographic or explicit material, or shocking or gory images. Keep this game Safe for Work.

- Likewise, do not post real life pictures of other players or forum users, unless given explicit persmission by that person.

- I may change these rules during the game in order to make gameplay easier if I judge it necessary.

IMAGE GLOSSARY AND HELP

To post images in Mafia Syndicate, find them in a external site, then right click the image and click "copy image address" (may vary a little depending on your browser). Then add them in your post by putting that address in img tags, or by clicking the icon with a portrait and putting the address in the tags.

Useful sites:

Imgur - Great site for hosting images, and also has a resize function.
Postimages - Another image host that also has a resize function.
Picresize - Image resizer with a lot of features, but does not host images for more than a few minutes (you need to host elsewhere after resizing)

Imgflip - Good site for finding meme images. Also contains a function to add text to images. Warning: may content NSFW images.
Meme Generator - Another site for meme images. Also contains a function to add text to images.
Meme Maker - Another text onto image engine.
Google Images - If fancy sites fail, this one can save your life. Though it might be a good idea to host the image in a proper site before posting.

But the Photobucket High Command learned of this event. And so, they ordered a few of their agents to infiltrate it, in order to take it down and make sure the dominion of the site over images would never end.

This is the story of this event. The battle for the right to post pics.
