Remember... you need box office between your films and actors to get to round 2, but if you ONLY go for box office you will never get to round 3. And you can dump drafted films and replace them with unclaimed films after the draft as often as you want, listing your transactions in the thread, up until your film opens (opens meaning advance screenings have begun).

Hang on - I assume you aren't talking about getting to draft rounds - is there some culling before round 2 of the contest and then round 3?

And in which rounds do we pick films and in which rounds do we pick actors?

Sorry, draft rounds are just rounds in the draft. There are 5 rounds for films and then 10 rounds for actors.

The actual league has 5 rounds. First round is May 1st to Dec 31st and is box office based. On Dec. 31st, the two league members with the lowest total box office are finished. The other 8 players move on to Round 2, which is Golden Globes with points for nominations and wins. Then more are dropped, and more awards rounds follow. So you need enough box office to get to the awards rounds, but if all you have is big box office films and actors, you'll sink as soon as the golden globes hit.

I posted it in the original rules, but it bears repeating, because it is the key to everything. A film's box office is what it earns, period. However, that box office ends on December 31st!!! The biggest films of the year could open Dec. 30th but you would only get 2 days worth of box office from it, so that must be remembered for end of year films!

Actors have specific rules.

If only one of us has an actor from a film, that actor will earn one half of the film's box office for his league owner. So JJJ might have Solo and earn $300 million bucks. But if I have an actor from the film, and I am the ONLY one with an actor from the film, JJJ earns $300 million by having Solo the film, but I will earn $150 million (half of the film's box office). However, if there are TWO actors out there from that film, they BOTH earn $150 million. But... and this is the key part... if there are MORE than 2 actors from a film in the league, the box office is reduced by how many there are... so if three of us have actors from Solo and it makes $300 million, our actors each make only $100 million. If the league has FOUR actors from Solo and it earns $300 million, each actor earns only $75 million. So, as the draft for actors starts later on, keep this in mind. Don't grab someone from solo or jurassic world thinking you just scored an easy 150 million plus... because the rest of us will dilute your box office by taking additional actors from your film and each of them will earn less each time.

You may, of course, personally grab multiple actors from the same film, if they are available in later rounds. If 6 actors from a film are in the league, but you own 3 of them, well BAM, you are back up to half of the film's box office in total (3 out of 6)

To specifically answer your question, yes, you can grab a title and then later in the actor rounds try to graba ton of actors from that same film, and try to really conquer that box office.

The draft clock starts at midnight PST, which is in just over one hour. Everyone has 12 hours to make their pick. If their time expires, the next person can make their pick immediately without waiting, and so on to the next person, and when the person who missed their pick gets to the thread they can simply submit their pick belatedly. Any film picked while their time had passed is lost to them, of course.

Later I will shorten this to 8 hours.

Yeah my understanding was actors that you draft score points with every movie they're in, not just the movies that you draft or that are drafted by the league

Yeah that was my understanding, 5 movies and ~7 actors will be drafted. This first draft is for movies, and then the draft order is reversed for Actors.
