This is kind of funny when you consider we basically won't know much of anything for months.

I get it though. I'm liking how my team is shaping up but then I have no idea what I'm doing so I'm probably wrong.

In my other league last year, one guy had all five of his films either as zero box office, because they opened in January, or December releases. So as of Nov. 30th he was behind in box office by about a half billion dollars. It's amazing what $550 million from The Last Jedi can do to one's fortunes, lol

I predict I'll finish 3rd in Box Office and dead last in awards.

You mean dead last at the... Globes? After being dead last once, you're gone...

Oh no globes I'm gonna clean up, but dead last in total awards.

Golden wrote: Thu Apr 19, 2018 9:59 pm How are SAG ensemble awards counted?
This is from the original rules I cut and pasted:

Earning awards points:
Your film and actor picks earn you points in the following ways during awards play:

- Nomination: 1 point each (films earn 1 point for every nomination in any category, actors earn 1 point for every nomination they specifically earn, but not for ones their film earns)
- Best Film win: 10 points (film selections only; for the Golden Globes, 10 points will be given to the two films that win Drama and Comedy/Musical); if a studio owns a doc, foreign or animated film they only earn 10 points for BP-equivalent wins, not their genre-specific categories (that counts as "All other categories" below)
- Actor win: 5 points to actor selections, 2 points to film selections (lead and supporting, and only 2 points to an actor and film when part of the SAG ensemble win)
- Director win: 5 points (film selections only)
- Screenplay win: 5 points (film selections only)
- All other categories: 2 points (film selections only)

So if let's say Mary Poppins Returns wins SAG Ensemble... whoever has the film on their roster gets 2 points. Whoever has one of the cast members listed in the SAG ensemble win gets 2 points for each of them.

We should set the categories now... this is how I'm adapting the eliminations to fit our reduced number of players:

Elimination Chart:

Round 1 (Box Office):
Top 8 advance to Round 2
Bottom 1 eliminated

Round 2 (Golden Globes):
Top 6 advance to Round 3
Bottom 2 eliminated

Round 3 (Critics Choice):
Top 5 advance to Round 4
Bottom 1 eliminated

Round 4 (BAFTA):
Top 4 advance to Round 5
Bottom 1 eliminated

Round 5 (Guilds):
Top 3 advance to Round 6
Bottom 1 eliminated

Round 6 (Oscars):
Top 1 wins

Sound good to everyone?

And for those who don't know the "guilds" category is for a cluster of awards all given out in about a 10 days span from the various technical guilds.. off the top of my head they are CDG (Costumes), ACE (Editing), ADG (Art Direction)... uhm... there is a makeup/hair one I think... oh the Cinematographers are another one, the PGA (producers), DGA (directors). I might be forgetting one.

There's literally a queen movie every single year. In 1999 I'm pretty sure every single best picture nominee had one.
