Because apparently I am a masochist.

-52 roles, two for every letter of the English alphabet (upper case and lower case)
-24/24 cycles
-lots of cause an effect to drive the game to Stage 2

More details coming down the road unless I come to my senses and abandon this idea.

Masochism is the main ingredient for great mafia games.

The way I see it, Chicka-Chicka-1-2-3 worked out the kinks, and this will be the tight, intense game it was meant to be.

The way I see it, G-Man is just plagiarising the Game of Champions :p

Silly coward, I said there would be cause and effect to drive the game forward. An obvious difference. :p

Besides, is it possible to plagiarize something that is part homage to begin with?

Imo just give it a proportional number of kills and it should be tolerable no matter how many "lives" there are in the game.

In my other site we regularly have games with 70 players that nobody minds because they never last more than 15 day phases. There are multiple kills every cycle. It's made to be a fast game.

I've noticed the Syndicate tends to have some traditions that make games less kill-happy, like forcing factions to alternate kills, or having civ killers be one-shot. This is nice if it's a <20 player game. With more players you need to accept you are dealing with hard role madness and design accordingly.

Anyway, just my two cents.

It's very kind of you to call it 'part homage', when I would call it 'blatant copying', but on the bright side at least that's the point of the GoC.

Fair enough - your point is that you like shorter games.

I don't think either is bad, but I do get that some people get listless in the face of a lack of kills. I've always preferred setups with a little survivability, but there's no doubts it leads to some phases with malaise.

Not exactly, I don't like games that are too short either.

I just like when there is some proportionality. Like the more players, the more kills, and keep the game length constant.

Longer games tend to benefit civilians though, because the longer it goes the more chances civs will get to figure the game out through actions or votes.

I admit this is just my taste though. If you guys like slower games with less kills I understand.

Okay, this game has been re-vamped and I am working on creating roles. Here’s the basic rundown:

1) This will be a full-sized Job. Phase structure will be 48/24.

2) This game will require 26 players.

3) There are actually two games taking place at the same time. The uppercase game plays out on odd days & nights and the lowercase game plays out on even days & nights.

4) There are 52 roles. Each player receives an uppercase and a lowercase letter role. You may be mafia in one game and civvie in the other. No player will be mafia in both games.

5) When you die in one game, you die in both games. A civvie mislynch in the lowercase game might also result in the death of a mafia member from the uppercase game.

6) Role reveals only expose the role you are playing as at the time. If you die in the uppercase game, your uppercase role will be revealed, but your lowercase role will remain a secret until both games have ended.
