Community Mafia [Sign-Ups]

Community Mafia
A game for any number of human beings

There is no set player limit for this game. We'll roll with the number of people that sign-up.

Likewise, there are no designated character alignments. Every role will be a character from the show, but alignments will be determined at random.

Roleplay is strongly encouraged but not required. If you'd like to roleplay but have never seen the show, just go watch it. Duh-doy.

Phases will be 24/24.
Votes will always be changeable. I would ask that players announce their votes in the thread as well as casting them in the poll.
Role claiming and info dumping will be legal unless I change my mind.
Fun ought to be had.

I will be resetting the poll for new signups for the sake of clarity. Players who had signed up previously are recorded below and all of them are welcome (and encouraged

) to re-confirm their spot in the game. Everyone else is free to sign up as if this is a brand new game, because it is.

One of the few roleplay themes where it's difficult to find a character who wouldn't be fun to play.

There’s a few character not included that easily could be, and if someone who wants to roleplay gets a character who would be challenging to roleplay, I could easily switch them out for, say, Vice Dean Laybourne. But not Neil. I am Neil.

I didn’t include some critical characters for the sake of thematic consistency. We can’t have Elroy and Pierce at Greendale at the same time, it just wouldn’t make sense!

That said, I can think of roleplaying bits for every character on this list.

He only shows up in season 5 and, while it’s implied that he’s been at Greendale longer than that, we never see him before then. I could include him, but I didn’t want to risk collapsing the game in a spacetime paradox so I didn’t risk it.

Since I’ve seen a few people express hesitation due to my emphasis on roleplay in the signup post, I want to clarify that ROLEPLAY IS NEVER A REQUIREMENT. It’s merely an option if anyone chooses to go that route.

Unfortunately I’m not going to be able to host this game right now given my upcoming time constraints. As a result we’re postponing the signups. They’ll reopen at a later date, whenever my schedule allows me to commit to hosting. I apologize for this. If you had already signed up your place will be reserved upon re-opening if you still wish to play.

In the meantime, expect a new Side Mission signup to be posted shortly and get excited for that one.

I encourage everyone to consider playing this one. Sloonei makes it fun, understands how to design a fair and quality game, and has provided a very low-pressure goofball theme from a great show.

I reset the poll so we don't have a cluttered mess of old signups and new.

I have a consistent schedule at last and should finally be able to run this game now. As the first post says, I'm not sticking to a strict size requirement for this game. The more the merrier, of course, but I want to get this thing running sooner rather than later.

Lots of games taking between 1 week and 6 months to start that may or may not crash with another 2-3 games at once.

I'm putting maybe now to see what will happen.

I've just started my honours this week and I haven't really got a sense for what kind of time I will have yet, so if I did sign up I'd expect to be taking a backseat. In for now.

We're well on our way to running a jan-yoo-wine, bonafide side mission.

12 would be the ideal minimum, so if we can get one more before Sunday I can have this up and running on Monday. Of course, there’s room for any number of players so I don’t wish to discourage folks from signing up if we hit that magic number. This game can run with 12 players or 19 or anywhere in between.
