You know better than most that townies have duty to look town. It is not the town's fault that a townie gets mislynched when they put in the level of effort that Marmot did.

I want spicy, juicy candidates on the poll that people will be inspired by. I had to blow up the thread and case people who weren't on the poll because the thread discussion was paralysed by the fact that nobody on the poll was a very good lynch candidate.

No, it's not the town's fault.

It's MY fault, you get it? It's my job to focus on reading my own crew and react accordingly. That Marmot is mislynched is on me.

There is this flaw... I admitted this at one point.

But so far, we have not had a situation where every crew has passed a test on one night, and the tests are so variable that I actually think it would be quite difficult to achieve. So I imagine everyone will be open at some point (as, indeed, they have been).
Remember when you were the poll maker in my game. Did you try to reduce the town voting pool? I cannot quite recall but if I remember you wanted to push to have a reduced pool to focus on and Jay basically went gaga over how anti-town that would be.

This is the issue here.

Not really. It's Marmot's fault primarily and then every person who voted for him after that. You are least at fault of just about anyone.

I know why we're differing here, yes you felt like your entire crew were civs. The chances of that being low as is, but on top of that, you are opening yourself up to being wrong in a much worse way than being minutely culpable for the mislynch of an active player if you consistently keep scum off the poll because they managed to convince you of their civvieness in a closed BTSC thread.

You know that people naturally trust each other when they are in small groups like this right? Your judgement on your own crew would be almost always worse not better than how you feel about the rest of the players due to their increased ability to engage you intimately.

Think back to A World Reborn. The scum had several civs (and me) in BTSC. We trusted them (you) all because you were able to engage us intimately, discuss the game behind closed doors, discover how we feel about the others, agree/disagree without open influence of other players.

I believe everyone on this ship is town. I believe that nobody on this ship is at risk of getting lynched except maybe me, which would just be a total meme lynch pushed by DharmaHelper for meme reasons. I believe you are town based on the way you've been behaving in the thread. Golden exhibiting all the hallmarks of his townie self. Glorfindel with his truth meta. Speedchuck has had me nodding just about more than any other player.

I also believe that the other townies in the game would prefer to see Golden on the poll than speedchuck and Glorfindel. Not that I want Golden to be be lynched. I nary believe that Golden would be lynched especially when DH's crew is weakened to the point where they are almost no chance to pass a mission (ergo Enrique and INH are going to be on the poll). But because a lynch poll that interests the townies will create the most thread discussion which will create the best possible environment to catch a genuine scum.

I also think Turnip Head will put DDL on the poll. I'd say that his crew will demand it of him.

Anyway if I'm still captain tomorrow and we win the mission I'll give my winnings to the crew as a share and leave myself out for overlooking going somewhere.

I think I'll ignore everything up to this point in N4 and start fresh.

I don't think it matters who would go on the poll. None of the four of us are in danger of getting lynched. It doesn't matter tonight especially. We'll all be on the poll tomorrow.

Mac, Golden, I've been breezing through your posts in the game. There are... quite a few of them. Since we can see no new posts from suspects at the moment, it might be a good idea to narrow down your suspicions. Campaign for them. If you want people to agree that DDL, or Enrique, or TH, or whoever is bad, the best option is to state the case as concisely as possible.

I have a general idea of why these people are suspicious, but if you asked me to point to a specific action, I'd say it was lost in the flood. While the game is 'paused', it might be good to change that. Ready up supa-posts. Just a suggestion.

I haven't been in the lead as much with the case-making because some deadlines at work got moved up from End-of-September to Wednesday. But I want to engage with your cases and ideas without the thread drowning us out. Glorf too, I don't suspect you but I want some solid perspectives and hunting rather than opinions about the crews and mechanics.

I'll do what I can. I think this is the best use of our night. Thoughts? Cases?

Your Captain requested I let you go to a location after all since he received the positionsolate in the day and wasn’t aware of what he had to do early enough to get it don. I decided to allow it and he has chosen to take you to Whitefall to take a job from Patience.

He has chosen the moderate job. Which requires 9 Diplomacy to pass and pays out $1500.

Additionally you have gotten a modifier if +2 for having aHired Gun on your crew.

Good luck!

Mac, I just want to say, I think if you put me on the poll there’s a decent probability I’m getting lynched. I’ll push for someone else but I’ll try not to spend my time defending if I can exert self-control. But I really think you should reconsider that. I think that I’m seen as very lynchable right now and there’ll be a strong push against me.

But I get your philosophy and I’ll accept if it’s me.

The one thing to keep in mind is captain psychology. I knew TH would put himself up until I came hard for him. I’ve blown that window now. I think he’ll put up DDL now...

Of all of the people you see as bad, the one I think you should really think no twice on us DDL.

Yes I know he was on my crew etc. But if you have a good look at TH and his flopping on DDL, and DDLs view of TH, I don’t think those two are compatible at least.

In order to complete this job, you needed to achieve a 9 in Diplomacy.

With your base stats, items, modifiers and dice roll you achieved an 8 in Diplomacy.

You have not been able to complete this job. This thread is now locked, I'll see you all in the Day thread shortly.

Yesssssss!

My GTH list from near EOD stands. I don't mind talking about it, in case I die tonight. And vice versa.

But for now, bed.

Unless you have something for me in the next few minutes

linki: I dunno, I pretty much called the entire scumteam, pretty sure. They might kill me.
But you were the final push, so IDK.

Lol wow. That was great. All that anger about the perceived mislynch ... so dumb.

At this point I think if I was scum I would kill me because I think there is still potential to lynch you. I don't see how they can lynch me. Like even nutella now has big suspicion on her.

I wouldn't be surprised if that ended up a scum/scum pairing of lynch wagons there.

I'm not getting lynched. I refuse.

But you make a good point.

INH getting pissed at me for causing a mislynch would be some crazy wifom if he is scum but counterpoint he is one of the only people who ended up not on the wagon. It's so hard to rationalise DDL or Golden as scum because if neither jumped at the end then Enrique lives. The only way either of them are scum is if TH also is and they bussed Enrique to save TH (which is entirely plausible if you look at Enrique's reaction to it).

I am gonna take the difficult job I think, mostly because I think that this ship is full of people who just became damn near unlynchable as a result of that lynch so we might as well go for the big job right?
