I developed this habit during champs since you’d get player A quoting player B quoting player C in these long chains and lose track of who “me” is. Then you’d have to scroll to the top and then back down. TH is only talking about me in these posts if you’re me. He’s talking about Jack no matter who you are.
But, here on Day 6, with a potential LYLO, [TH] looks fairly insincere.
Yeah, maybe. He tunneled me when we were both protown aligned in Greece and it didn’t look that different from this.

Same question. What’s the biggest difference between town you and scum you?

I basically disappeared from this game recently because I exhausted anything that looks like a suspect and I'm kind of assuming mafia already has the majority and the host is just wasting our time.

But yeah, I guess I'll catch up and say something before the day is over.

What would you say the defining difference is between your civ and scum playing/posting strategies?
When I’m scum, I have a more detailed plan.

As town, I start with a bunch of null reads and I try to sort them. Player A feels town. Player B started a train on a scum player and tried hard to save a town player from lynch. Player C is not voting their scumreads. Player D is not interested in hunting. Player E says they suspect player D but they keep ultimately voting elsewhere when it really matters. Lynch the scumreads. Listen to the townreads and try to keep them from getting lynch. Hope Jay doesn’t go after me and knock me over before I really get going. Shitpost. As EOG appoaches, try to find w/w and w/t or t/t groups and do ISOs now that it’s worthwhile. Hope I’m right. Rely on charisma and effort to never be lynched.

When I’m scum, I try to replicate my town game. I’m more likely to selectively ignore shit about ne, though I still do this as town. I’m more likely to take a strong stance on competing t/t wagons. But there’s always a plan. A list of most to least mislynchable townies. A list of townies I can ignore/buddy vs ones I must kill. Reasons to mislynch. Reasons to defend. An internal calculation of when I must bus and when I cannot. At EOD, there’s an order. Mislynch A, kill B, mislynch C, kill D.

As scum, I can have a plan because I know exactly what has to be done. As town, I can be wrong which means going back to the drawing board.

Does this help? I kinda just like talking about myself regardless.

That is, if there are 3 scum, Wilgy can submit kills on N1 and N4.

If there are 2 scum, Wilgy misses the kill N2, makes the kill N4 and then hasn’t been called to make a third kill yet.

I don’t actually see a reason to townread Wilgy based on mafia kills happening. Once again, stuck at probably lylo with mystery alignment Wilgy.

Well poop.

Scum team is TH and DDL most likely. Or fuck it, maybe it’s DH. I feel like sometimes I can have a bit of a blind spot when it comes to him, because out of everyone on the site, I relate to his mafia gameplay mindset the most. He’s been given the flamethrower 3 times, and burned a human every time. At what point do we start kiiiinda considering him?

Jackofhearts2005 what’s the likelihood of DH being scum?

I wasn't *super* sold on anyone who was posting, so my brain said "Well however improbable it is that Wilgy is assimilated, it isn't impossible" and we need an assimilated lynch so I took the initiative and pulled the trigger.

When everyone who is posting sounds reasonable and civ, the one guy who isn't looks guilty.

Here’s the problem. Max one scum knows one other scum. So even if DH is bad, he probably doesn’t know Wilgy isn’t a thing.

If there are two things, scumDH would have a 50% chance of knowing Doc was town. If there are three things, he’d have a 33% chance of knowing Doc was (1 DH, 1 partner he’d know, 1 he wouldn’t, 4 townies) only 20% likely to be scum.

So if you don’t like DH killing Wilgy after not really suspecting him (even if his reason for townreading him fell away), that’s a reason to suspect him. And if you thought there were 3 townies and Doc being one and you (ie any townie) are one and now DH is or isn’t the very last townie instead of one of the last two, that can make him look bad.

So, he looks worse but not all that worse.

Also, wut? You think I’m town now?

The point I’m trying to make here is that “we keep lynching townies” is mostly NAI because scum don’t know their mates.

We have to evaluate everyone outside of that.

From my spreadsheet:

Lynch Poll Votes
Spoiler: show
Image
So, yeah. Of the 47 votes cast in lynch polls, only six were for assimilated players. INH received five votes all game, Turnip Head picked up one vote, and DH never received a single vote. Getting the flamethrower and being immune from the lynch three times helped him there.

Night Phase Flamethrower Votes
Spoiler: show
Image
Of the 54 votes for flamethrower immunity, the baddies received a combined 23 votes. DH got the flamethrower three times and Turnip Head got it once. Turnip Head won the flamethrower for Day 7, which would have been his second time with it and the fifth time for an assimilated player to be in charge of the lynch.

Night Kills
Spoiler: show
Image
INH found Turnip Head on Night 1. They didn't get BTSC but they did a good job of not showing any hints that they knew each other's identity.

This was a very strange game to witness and to host. I want your thoughts on the setup. JaggedJimmyJay helped me sort out how many baddies there should be depending on the number of players. That's why I didn't allow him to play. On the surface, it feels like the scales may have been tipped too heavily towards the baddies but maybe that's just because the civvies showed poor judgement of character in who they voted to hold the flamethrower.

Post your comments, questions, and criticisms. I'll check them out in the morning. I'll also explain why the game ran for Day and Night 6. I don't have time to go into the specifics of it all now.

I don't think it favored the baddies all that much. iNH and I got lucky to know find other so early, which helped us stay focused on lynching/killing humans.

DH was bad? Ha, he was my only legit townread. I probably would have killed him night 7 if I had rotated towards getting the kill.

Fun Fact: self-voting for the flamethrower wasn't allowed, a fact that I figured out only after attempting to self-vote during Night 6. Apparently I was the first (and only) player to even try.
