Wanna play a mafia game, but you can't keep up with a large thread? Hate standard assumptions of normality? Are you a nerd? Do you like cupcakes?

One punch Post Mafia is the game for you.

Standard mafia game using the heist matrix. (unless we get >15 players, then this mess goes nuclear.) Only one post per player per day.

Players will be allowed to edit their post(s).

With no clear record of what was said, and accusations flying in... well, very limited directions because of the few posts deal, this game will be a great time! Maybe.

yeah, this is a game that will require time commitment based on 1post edits and not something i can commit to in any way right now. i'll certainly be spectating.

I'm not against doing this, if nobody has any objections. I didn't consider that people would consider 'catching up' as 'work', as this was clearly not meant to be a very serious try-hard-y game.

Would make it a heck of a lot easier to run the thing, too.

I'm not objecting, since I didn't sign up, but I do not think it will be a very balanced game that way and civs will pretty surely lose if you do limit it to one post per day and no editing.

Clearly it would have to be rebalanced as a role madness. But that would be a completely different concept as well.

I'm not sure. Seems like you'd be able to scroll through a day's posts, even with edits, in a short amount of time. I'll need to check and see how easy it is to edit posts on phone.

The scrolling through is not a problem on phone, I think she means it's being online regularly to catch the edits as they happen and before they change that would make it a sort of heavier time commitment. Especially for someone like me who lives in a whole different time zone.

The manner by which players go about making their edits could define how hard the game is. There's a lot of freedom of choice here; players may start with one small post, and then entirely replace its content with each edit. Or a player might edit addendums over and over without removing prior content throughout the game. That editing behavior might even serve as a source for suspicions or for trust.

Obviously having a typical Mafia conversation is going to be difficult here. The game itself will probably be difficult, and there's no way for speedchuck to guarantee balance (he will certainly do his best). Those who enjoy a foray into the goofy once in a while though may enjoy the unique challenge.

It recalls Omerta Mafia in some ways.

^ good point. i didn't think of making a mega huge post, but that could work beautifully and not restrict players too much especially since it's a day-restriction.
