Assassin's Creed Mafia (OVER!)

Hello, and welcome to Assassin's Creed Mafia!

A reminder of the rules:

Role and character claiming ARE allowed. A character's alignment in the video game(s) is not tied to their alignment in this game (i.e., Ezio can be mafia, Shay can be town, etc.), and alignments are randed after character assignment. There will be a hammer in effect this game--meaning that if a majority is reached before the deadline, the day ends early. If a majority is reached and I'm not around to end the day right away, screenshot the poll and send it to me. Discussion post-hammer is allowed until I end the day. The thread will not be open during the night. Only talk to other players about the game privately or during the night if I have explicitly allowed it. Days will be approximately 72 hours. There will be no replacements or subs, players that have to drop or flake out will be modkilled or otherwise dealt with at the GMs discretion.

There will only be two factions in this game, Righteous Warriors and Heathenous Spies. There are no conversion mechanics in this game. The GM will not lie but he may not always answer your question.

In addition to normal Syndicate guidelines, I also enforce this rule:

I disallow excessive AtE (appeals to emotion).

I define excessive AtE to be statements that directly say or imply that something in the game is having a negative impact on someone’s out of game relationships or well-being.

If you feel like mafia is having a negative impact on your out of game well-being, please contact myself or a staff member.

Hello everyone, I am the mod for this game. As a reminder of my role, if you start to feel frustrated or angry at anyone in the game please do not personally attack them, pm me instead. We don't want the game to devolve into a shouting match between players, ruining the game for others who are trying to play within the guidelines. You can feel free to yell at me or vent to me and I will try to help you resolve the issue or sometimes, just venting helps you feel less stressed. This should be a great game and I hope you all have loads of fun playing it!

could there be a thematic reason for this? @ anyone who's familiar with the games? We waited a few extra days to get to exactly 15 players. I don't think it's likely that nanook would simply forget to include two people.

I would also say the same about JaggedJimmyJay, but he's Schrödinger's player right now. I'll join you on the Sloonei vote, he has three posts and they're all about an issue that's above his pay grade as a player. In A World Asunder, town Sloonei opened Day 1 with two town reads and a vote on a suspect. [VOTE: sloonei] aubergine

Nope. Initially I was confused and a little concerned that nanook had somehow screwed up. I double checked the signup thread and reread everything in here to see if there was something that I was missing. I was genuinely confused about the two missing players and considered that it was a host error and the game was going to need to be restarted. But then I resolved that was unlikely.

Other than that, I’ve been doing school junk today and not thinking about the mafia game that just started.

I have a soft mindmeld with leetic re: sloonei. However, I'm more suspicious of it because I do not think speculation of sloonei's nature is pro-town in any way. Since it is early enough in the game, this read is more of a town read on leetic than a condemnation of sloonei. I also want to point out TonyStarkPrime's callout of LongCon (and sloonei's somewhat, but Tony was not involved before this) which I think is not justified.

I can't make any more judgements until RVS is over, which is hopefully soon.

PS The submit and preview buttons are backwards.

It's a problem, because you were framing it as a potential game mechanic, when I do not think discussion of that avenue is fruitful for town.

I have no real investment in the topic as it is being framed. Again, I was trying to figure out whether or not the host messed up and the game would need to be restarted as a result of this.

That particular post was me realizing that it was probably not a host error, and a search for answers among the folks who knew the theme better than I do. I don’t actually give a shit what the speculative mechanics might be. I just care that the possibility for mechanics exists.

Now explain why my mindset is not indicative of an honest civilian.
