Rules of the Game of Champions

1) Day periods last 48 hours. Night periods last 23 hours. EoD will be at 6PM EST.
2) Votes will be changeable.
2b) Day phase eliminations will be decided by plurality vote at the deadline. There is no majority "hammer" vote.
3) No double-targeting (targeting the same player on consecutive nights) or self-targeting is permitted, unless specifically stated.
4) Self-voting is not permitted.
5) All players on the side of the winning faction will win.
6) Quoting PMs from the Hosts is not permitted. Role claiming and info-dumping are permitted, although this may not be in your best interest.
7) Participate. If you require a replacement, please inform the Hosts as soon as possible.
8) Be respectful to your fellow participants. If you need to speak to someone on the outside to vent, PM the outstanding moderators on duty, @juliets and @JaggedJimmyJay - otherwise known as the J-Team!!!!!!
8b) No excessive AtE will be allowed in this game. Excessive AtE is defined as anything that directly states, implies, or suggests that your real life and/or friendship is being negatively effected by the game. If you feel that your real life is being negatively effected by the game, please contact a mod or site admin. (credit: nanook for the rule)
9) No BTSC (behind the scenes communication) unless authorized by the Hosts.
10) No editing or deleting of posts in the game thread.
11) Dead players should post in the {Dead} Red if they are posting in the game thread (off topic only please).
12) Non-Players should similarly post in {np} Blue if they are posting in the game thread (off-topic only please).
13) Living players wishing to discuss something off-topic should do so in {OT} Green.
14) All questions should be asked privately. PM the Hosts and you will receive a private answer.

Welcome to this year's GoC, an annual event where some of The Syndicate's finest Champions of the year battle it out ONE. LAST. TIME.

A game that is uniquely crafted with characters and flavors of games we have enjoyed playing the past year on the site!

It's a game unlike any other, and yet very like many others, and only one team will hold that delicious, most sought after title:

GoC CHAMPIONS 2020!!

Now without further ado....let the games commence!

Day 0

It was a dark and stormy year.

Rob tried to ignore the rain and thunder while he played Banjo-Kazooie on his father’s computer. He understood that a long time ago old people had to use things called “cartridges” to play video games at home. They were clunky and sometimes people had to blow in them to get them to work.

Rob did not understand why this was. Maybe it was like blowing out birthday candles and making a wish, wishing that the game would work.

Now he could try out all of these ancient titles with the help of something called an “Emulator” his dad had installed on the computer while his father was downstairs reading something called “Day Cart.” Rob thought it was weird, a story about a cart that can only be used in the day. He asked his dad about it and his dad laughed and just said “good one,” which made Rob refrain from revealing that he really wanted to know.

Rob was about to celebrate obtaining a certain Jiggy when the power went out.

Only the sound of the storm remained.

In a brief, quiet moment, Rob heard his dad’s footsteps ascending the stairs.

It was bedtime anyway. Rob began to point to the clock in the room in protest, but the digital face stared back at him blankly. There was no support to be found anywhere. It was a school night. His dad had let him play on his computer far longer than he said he would. He had stayed up fifteen minutes past his bedtime the previous night. It was hopeless.

And the dreams would be there, waiting for him.

It is now Day 0. You have until 6pm EST to check in.

Looks like we have our first official kickoff vote, courtesy of MacDougall. MacDougall's career has been going uphill, he has shown great performance under pressure in recent games. I've heard rumors that multiple mafia communities were trying to recruit him but his coach NANOOK wasn't letting him go. We're all curious how can he perform as the team captain in such a high stakes game, especially against other superstars players.

In older days on the Syndicate, it was not uncommon for the Day 0 post to have some sort of mechanical impact on the game. Epi hails from that era. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a hidden significance to these votes.
