In 2nd, the silver medal goes to

@LordQuas with Dream in Color by Cordae

I had never heard of Cordae but I was very interested and actually spent time going through his discography after listening to this. The base is solid and the tone is definitely something I can vibe to while working. Great sub. Seems like something Quas would think I like.

And the best sub of cat 2 goes to

@Marmot with Under the Sun by SPELLLING

Huh, now that was an experience. Atmospheric? Check. Vibe? Check. Female vocals? Check. This shit took me back to some experimental 80s electronic music, one of my favorite music eras. Suddnely I'm hit with this calming yet mystical female vocals. I have no idea what the hell this song is about, but I didn't need to. It's awesome, and I'm feeling good even while having to do boring paperwork.

Quas with Best Dishwasher I Ever Had by Krista Muir

I wasn't feeling this on the first listen. The vocals weren't exactly exquisite or intriguing to me. Although after a couple listens I did start to really enjoy the writing in this, and there are some unique aspects. Although some parts are very harsh on my eyes. Nothing to really say.

Let's begin Cat 4

In last place it's @falcon45ca

No Cigar by Millencolin

This was a travesty, and never should have existed. This song had the most basic drum beat I've ever heard, mixed with very safe and boring guitars. Then the vocals hit and I wanted to perish from this earth. This reminded me of Blink 182, if you stripped away everything that made them unique. There are times that I find Blink 182s voals grating, but they had a unique sound and engaging lyrics to make up for that. This was just grating vocals on a mockery of early 2000s type music. Is this a 1/10? No, but that's what it gets for being such an awful piece of music.

In 7th place we have @Marmot

Shitstorm by Strapping Young Ladd

uhh, I hate 99% of metal. Good lord did I struggle making it through this song. I understand the sub, and it does fit frustration and can help relax some people, but I am not one of those. I loved the drums, and that's about the only thing I can say positively. I thought maybe this was a Quas sub, but I'm pretty sure he would never think I'd like this.

In 6th place it's @nutella

Paradise is Waiting by St. Lucia

I liked the start, but this song just never wanted to end. Half-way through I got extremely bored of the same vocals saying paradise is waiting for me! Also, I have bad memories of church choir, and this came off as very brainwashy religious music too. It was ok.

In 5th place it's @G-Man

Bad Days by The Flaming Lips

This was mid. I didn't find the vocals super appealing, although the music overall was fine. Not much to say about this one.

In 4th place it's @MyNameIsNothing

Take it Easy on Me by A House

This was alright. I thought the music was very good, although I wasn't a huge fan of the vocals. Especially the part when the band is backing up the lead vocals. I liked the vibes this song brought, and it changes the sound enough to keep me engaged throughout.

Winning the bronze medal is @Syn

Ain't No Rest for the Wicked by Cage The Elephant

Classic. I've enjoyed the song since it came out, and still find it as an enjoyable listen. Slightly docked because I've heard countless time though.

SECOND PLACE IS @LordQuas

Duvet by Boa

I enjoy the vocals on this track, not sure what the hell the lyrics were, but I found myself just relaxing with it. I loved the solo about half way into the song, and the unique "quips" of sound throughout are dope.

And lastly the winner of cat 4 is obviously @Red

I Get It by Chevelle

This panders to my childhood rockstar, the base/vocals/lyrics are so reminiscint of my favorite era of rock. I'm not sure which band they remind me of, but it's a sound that my ears never get tired of. Nostlagia probably going to rate this higher than other genres. Also a slight bonus for the music video being so spot on to this cat. What can I do except enjoy Rock music.
