The year is 2022. The Toronto skyline peeks through the filthy windows of one of the city's many abandoned storefronts. The room's only feature, a notebook's tiny monitor, is barely illuminating the faces of the three individuals crouched around it. A single digit is displayed, a brilliant halo lost in a field of darkness. The man in the middle exchanges looks with his compatriots. They nod. Slowly, he moves his own digit toward the backspace key. And then, darkness.

Game-specific rules
0. This is a normal game. Any suggestions to the contrary will be reported. Specifically, this game will follow Mafiascum's normal game guidelines to provide the most normal experience possible.
1. If you join this game, you will receive a normal role. Any suggestions to the contrary will be reported.
2. Phases are 48/24. The thread will be locked at night.
3. Post cap is 50 per cycle. The cap is not lifted near deadline. Exceeding the cap may result in a modkill.
4. Hammers are disabled for this game.
5. At deadline, the player with at least 51% of the votes will be eliminated. If no player qualifies, there will be no elimination.
6. In-thread voting is not required.
7. Private chat is done via Discord, and may be done during the day.
8. This setup has three mafia and ten town. At least five of the town are vanilla townies.

1. The mods on duty for this game, @dunya & @sabie12, will scold you if you choose not to follow the above rule. Alternatively, you may reach out to them if you need game-related emotional support.

Another day dawns on the big city. An officer in the police department's cybercrime division sits at his desk, investigating a recent attack on the department's website. The apple icon on the back of his macbook is crowded by the stickers adorning every inch of its surface, each declaring the detective's undying love for the Typescript programming language. His partner in crime-fighting, Detective Sabie, dances through his open door holding a coffee.

"Good morning, my dear Marmot! Seeing how it's your special day and all, I brought you your favourite from Starbucks, a Venti Vanilla Frappuccino! How's the investigation going?"

"Oh, not bad. I think I'm nearly done. These guys didn't seem to really get into anything important. Judging from the access logs, it seems like they only gained access to the site's client code, and were able to mess with it a bit to give our site some weird errors. It's good that they weren't able to query our database, but still, pretty scary that they would be able to get in at all. Hmm, what's this...." Marmot begins to frown while staring intently at his sceen.

Sabie doesn't seem to notice. "That's great! Maybe you'll get to finish early today. Hey, I was thinking, maybe you want a cake for your retirement party tonight? I was thinking chocolate cheesecake. What do y-"

Before she can finish, Detective Marmot collapses. Blood trickles from his nose. On his screen, an error message:
