GAME DESIGN:

• Closed Setup
• 48/24 hr Day/Night phases
• There are NO vanilla roles in this game
• There are unconventional aspects to this game, but know that the hosts will never lie to you.
• NO INFODUMPING/ROLE-CLAIMING. This might be a challenge for some of you: this means no fake claiming, or outing of host-derived information gleaned from action results or Behind-the-Scenes-Chats, etc. (If you think something you are saying could be overstepping, please ask us first). This is in place to maintain game integrity.
• If you are told to vote for a specific person, or are given a task or a curse, IT IS UNDERSTOOD that you are not to make it obvious. Don't overstep this line.
• It is our policy to not allow prize discussion in our games. If you did (or did not) win a prize at any time in the game, please do not discuss this in the thread
• No Angleshooting. We all know what straight-up cheating looks like (posting screenshots of host communications, illegal BTSC, etc). I don't care for anything that even remotely resembles cheating. Play both within the rules and within the authentic spirit of Mafia -- to sort the game exclusively with the content of this game thread, any legal BTSC, and/or your own role card. If you are considering something that you think might skirt the line, please ask the hosts first.
• Knowingly violating these rules can undermine the balance and integrity of the game and as such will be strictly penalized

POSTING, VOTING AND ACTIONS:

• Votes are changeable
• Votes MUST be both in-thread AND the poll to count
• No hammer
• Ties will not result in no-elimination
• Self-votes do not count
• There is no double-targeting in consecutive cycles
• Actions are due 2 HOURS before End of Phase
• Please post at least once a day. We are not afraid of modkilling anyone for lack of posting.
  If you have not posted for two cycles without first informing the hosts (out of town, etc) you will be modkilled. There are no replacements and we expect participation from a champion such as yourself.
  If you miss two dayvotes, no worries. It happens to everyone. If you miss three or more, you will be roleblocked each night it happens thereafter.

The pitch was abuzz with a muted fervor. Athletic hopefuls of all shapes, sizes, castes and ideologies were stretching and warming up on the field: some annoyingly gregarious, a few keeping a safe distance, and most with their eyes on the prize.

Everyone here yearns to hold the coveted Cindy-Kate championship cup in this year’s Mafiasportsball Bowl XIII.

Well, most everyone.

You see, some have their own nefarious agendas…perhaps Coach SVS offended them somehow in the presser in years past, or have a strong Vegas bet against the team, or are even secret agents for the opposing team on the other side of the tracks.

A shrill whistle blows from the tunnel. All players on the field immediately turn towards the noise, and find two absolutely jacked people stroll onto the pitch.

The woman surveys the field of competitors, and clears her throat.
“I’m assuming you’re all here for the tryout for the [x team]?”

One of the strapping young fellows in the front starts to answer, but the woman blows her whistle again, making the would-be player stagger and shrink back into the crowd.
“That was a rhetorical question,” she smirked with a twinkle in her eye. “I know you’re all here for that. But know that we can only take the best on our little team if we want to match up against the behemoths in this division. The best.”

There was a fluid silence that lingered.
Sensing the unease, the man blew the whistle to fill the silence. He continued to blow as players began to plug their ears in annoyance, and even the woman had to step back and punch the man in the arm. This shut him up.

The man, now slightly jittery as if he had just injected caffeine straight into his veins, stepped forward.
“Yeah! Hear hear! I agree with all Coach SVS has said.” He paused, almost confused at having compiled an actual sentence, then continued.

“Oh! I almost forgot! How silly of me- let me introduce ourselves. Myself. Er, us. Her, too.” He scanned the field. Coach SVS tapped her foot impatiently. “That there’s Coach SVS. She’s the bulldog of the henhouse. And I’m Coach Scotty, the….other dog…of the henhouse. That analogy *will* get worked on. In any case, we’re gonna lead you to the promise land. Maybe. Probably.”

“This sport of Mafiasportsball takes discipline because it’s a Frankenstein creation from whistle to whistle. Just know that the Cindy Kates have no prejudice against anyone on the team as long as you work hard and do your best. If you do those things, I’m sure you’ll- we’ll succeed. Clear as mud?”

Confused by the lack of confidence, the unorthodox decorum and the types of…diverse…competitors around them, a few people applauded politely, and shifted from side to side.

After another moment of uncomfortable silence, Coach Scotty clapped his hands in excitement.

“Okay! Let’s get warm and do some drills.”

The whistle blew.

Night 0 has begun. Day 1 will begin in 24 hours.

The local hospital, expecting an unusual amount of intakes in the coming days (for some reason), is hosting an art show to raise money for future care costs!

From now until the end of Night 2, you may submit an art piece into your private channel. You may only submit ONE art piece in the form of a picture to be displayed and potentially purchased in the future Art Show!
