For what it's worth, I get super ridiculous motion sickness with everything. I get sick from tying my shoelaces in the car, or reading too many street signs as a passenger, or even not eating just enough or too much. Hell, I sometimes get motion sickness from folding laundry, because I have a pathetic weak stomach/inner ear. BUT on the one cruise I went on, I never once felt sick and had a fabulous time Just something to think about.Spacedaisy wrote:MP and I expect to make this list of "some" people. I have not discussed this with him yet... but he will agree.Golden wrote:I am very jealous that I've missed all of this...
But my wife and I are secretly planning a trip to the East Coast in 2017, and I'm already thinking about how to finally meet some of you.
Sadly, a cruise is not ideal for Alex, he gets super motion sickness. Like the minute he sets foot in a boat. I have taken a cruise before and most if the time you can't even tell. I have told him this but he has zero desire too risk it.
BR, tag what?
You don't have to convince me, you have to convince Alex lol.nijuukyugou wrote:For what it's worth, I get super ridiculous motion sickness with everything. Next time I am in the states (hopefully later this year) I'm hoping to get to meet up with Rox in DC. I've never been beforeLoRab wrote:After reading this thread, I'm even more sad that I couldn't make the wedding.
I totally vote for an east coast meet up and approve of DC!!! Or Philly, even.

nijuu carpooled around with us over the wedding weekend, and rode in the back seat while I drove.Spacedaisy wrote:

Mongoose mentioned that you were planning this to me awhile ago, and I totally forgot. I would totally be down for this as long as I could ensure I'm off work then. For now, consider me in!Elohcin wrote:Okay, so I am not sure on what would work best for everyone, so I found these two cruises. They are both for spring 2016. I was thinking either the April 15th date for the 5 day cruise out of Charleston, SC or the April 10th date for the 4 day cruise out of Port Canaveral, FL. Of course, prices will change according to when we all decide to book and what not. But, I figure discussion has to start somewhere. I would love to be able to do this and for LOTS of us to go. I want to meet more of you

I'd be fine with almost whatever!Elohcin wrote:If you get motion sickness, don't get a room at the front of the boat. And...if a cruise is not the best option, we can always just plan to meet up at a specific hotel/beach and and hang out together for a week. I want to go here sometime soon:

It's okay. Immediately after I made fun of you, I got injured in four different ways almost simultaneously, so rest assured that karma exists.MovingPictures07 wrote:Trust me, I'd love to not have it.thellama73 wrote:Do you mean to tell me that there are grown men who become physically ill at... motion? Wow, that's not bad at all! I'm definitely interested but not sure I can commit just yet. But I'm open to looking at any summer dates.Elohcin wrote:Here's one in myrtle beach - https://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/p7004067 for dates June 4-11, it would only be $3,300 or a little over $200 a person if 16 go which is how many it sleeps.
I hear the beach house has its own submarine with a pretty reliable crew...S~V~S wrote:Yeah my issue is I am living in a house that is for sale. So when it sells, I will have 2 months to get moved, and it could happen tomorrow, or it could happen a month before the planned meeting. So I don't know if I can afford it, and I can't commit timewise since my timeline can change at any moment. If the house sells 2 months or more before the trip date I MIGHT be able to do it.
Y'all please keep me in the loop on what happens here because I will probably want/be able to go (but I don't check in here often so fb msg me?)Elohcin wrote:Okay y'all, it's February and we need to start planning a meet-up for this summer before everything is booked! What about this idea? Here is a 5 bedroom house in Jacksonville Beach, FL. There are several others like these, some more expensive than others. This one in particular would be $3,249 for the week of June 20th - June 27th. Split among 14 people, that's under $250 per person for the week. Epi is going to put up a poll so you can vote if you are interested and you can tell me when you are available. But we have to work fast as many of these places are booking up already.
