Day 0: Where's Lana?

The detectives received the missive. They stood around it, reading and digesting the information. Alliances would be formed. Friendships would be tested. Bonds (and bones) would be broken. Cigarettes would be smoked. Booze would be imbibed. And then imbibed. And then imbibed. And then...

Hedgeowl grabbed her trusty magnifying glass. Lizzy made sure she had her briefcase full of gadgets. Vomps grabbed a pizza. Kate pocketed a fountain pen. S~V~S considered a notepad before opting for a camera. All the detectives were ready.

It is Day 0. You have 48 hours to decide where we'll go on our search for Lana.

@Huge Phil Collins fans: Does anyone have information on the poll (and is the bottom option supposed to be a host/non option, or can we vote for any of them?)

I just added a host/np option, so you can vote for any of the others. As far as info goes...

Alright, I think I'll just vote now then. A police station seems like a good start for finding a missing person to me.

Hi everyone!

SOooooooo, I'm tempted to look on the train because old mysteries on trains are always fun. I think I'll check the gangster's hideout though, it sounds scary and interesting - and bad guys are the most likely to have nabbed that dame.

If we are the detectives, I see no reason to go the police or the detective's agency (unless its our own, but even then we need to get out detecting!).

None of the others tickly my fancy.

Votes gangster's hideout.

Gender is the range of physical, biological, mental and behavioral characteristics pertaining to, and differentiating between, masculinity and femininity.

From a Noir standpoint, there were a lot of good choices. For me Noir is about hard boiled private eyes, but a Noir case could be made for pretty much all of the choices. But O Hostess with the Mostest, what is the Noir connection for a boxing match? I am not getting that one.

Also@ Mongoose~ the roles have this:
Cody Jarrett of White Heat. Periodic fits of insane rage, killing a random player.
What exactly does "periodic" mean? Especially in the context of killing a random player.

Day 1: The Naked City.

Image

"Where should we go?" Enygma Eve asked.

"The offices!" everyone shouted.

The detectives raced to their automobiles. Vomps hopped into the sidecar of Matt's motorcycle. Metalmarsh enjoyed her hovercraft. Roxy was speedy in her classic coupe. But all were rushing. The first one to the PI's office might get an advantage.

Arriving at the appropriate building, the detectives raced to park. However, several men carrying a sheet of window glass slowed their efforts.

Pushing and shoving, they made it up the stairs and burst forth into the office, spilling onto one another.

The furniture had all been removed. Not one detail remained in the entire office room.

"Wait a minute," Hedgeowl sniffed. "I smell something weird."

"Now that you mention it," Kate agreed.

Spacedaisy threw open the door to the coat closet. A body slumped out. The body of Jules Dassin.

Who killed the famed Film Noir director? Why was his body in the office of a Private Investigator?

You have 24 hours to lynch a suspect.

314 are also the first three digits of pi, which reminds me of pie. There's only one thing here we can put into pies, and they are turnips.

My vote is going with turnip head.

Yeah, but there's only one thing that turnips can't be used for.

Murdah.

And doesn't 314 = pie make you think of P.I.? As in, the P.I.'s Office where the body was found?

I was never at that P.I.'s office. So it couldn't a been me!

So basically a half hour after the day starts you vote. Odd vote is odd. Are you so busy that you wouldn`t be on forum for 23 1/2 hours?
