I copied down some numbers (but don't know what they are) from books I picked up while in the first part of my saferoom, so maybe the numbers will be a string that we will insert into a device to deactivate a bomb?

In the center of the room, on top of the computer, is a pistol loaded with a single bullet.

The possibilities with the gun run through your head. If I kill the Murderer now, I have almost unlimited time to solve the puzzle, and get out of here! But, if I guess wrong, I would be stuck alone with the killer.

Those are the only items immediately available.

The blackout arrives right on schedule. Finding a comfortable corner, you sit down and try to rest. A loud grinding sound fills the room, along with the white noise. Suddenly, screams everywhere. Chilled to the bone, you ponder whether to get up and try to locate the source of the screams, or to stay put and possibly not get killed. While you are thinking about this problem, the lights come back on. Getting up, you walk towards the center of the chamber. As you walk, you hear an odd squishing sound. Bending down, you see what caused it. A human ear, obviously roughly detached from a head. You feel queasy, as if you are about to vomit. But that's not all. Looking up, you can see a foot, a head, a lung, and various other parts placed to form a rudimentary arrow pointing to the open wall. Chamber Three. Glancing across the room, you see the only person left. The murderer. You make a mad dash towards the computer. If you can find the gun, you can end it! But, the gun is gone. That would be too easy. Looking at your captor's face, you see "it" smile, a grotesque parody of human emotion. You are alone with the killer.

CHAMBER THREE INSTRUCTIONS

Chamber Three is a small room, with two stools and a reinforced glass wall separating them. One player per side. Another small glass wall hides two cameras, one for each candidate. Members of the Three Chambers Collective are watching through those cameras. They have been monitoring the progress of the application process, but do not know who the murderer is.

Your job is to convince the jury that you are not the murderer, the jury will be made up of TCC members. (By TCC members, we mean eliminated players.)

The person who the majority of the jury believes to be innocent will win this stage of testing.

This challenge tests memory, charisma, and debating skills.

Good luck.

May it please the court.

Your Honor, Members of the Esteemed Jury, Ladies, Gentlemen. Wombats.

Today we are gathered to listen to the oral arguments between myself and Mr. Head. While I do have some evidence to proffer to you on why Mr. Head is guilty, I also have evidence and exhibits to share with you on why I am not guilty.

Exhibit A: My Track Record.

Throughout the process of this game, I have tried to be a team player. Let the record reflect that I have been trying hard throughout the game to solve the puzzles and put forth instructions when possible. I was not able to figure out the puzzle with the book titles, but I must insist that this was only due to a defect of the mind and not of moral character.

Things have not always gone perfectly. I will admit that there may have been miscommunication between me and Mr. Marsh, but that was not deliberate. To me, it was sensical to state that *turn light off* meant leave the cord uncut. If this was in error, then I must humbly apologize. Please note that I have a distinct lack of recalcitrance about this whole situation and feel positively sick about it.

We did not purposefully get lost in this chamber. We didn't land on Plymouth Rock; Plymouth Rock landed on us.

Exhibit B: Pacifist By Action.

After Mr. Gnosis vacated the safe room, I elected to go in, hoping I could be of some use. I wanted to pull my weight, and I thought this would be a good way to do it.

Inside, I was given the opportunity to use a gun on someone - any of the remaining players OR I could communicate with the thread. I elected not to murder one of my fellow dear players and instead decided to ask for collaborative help.

Once again, I eschewed the power of the pistol when I tried to disarm it. This trick did not work. At this time, Mr. Head took the gun for his own personal use, but has not used it yet. I would like to direct the jury's attention to this fact.

To recapitulate, I refused to use the gun on two occasions. I even tried to disarm it.

If the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit.

The Defense rests her case, your Honor.

I took that gun because I didn't want you getting your murdering paws all over it, Goosey.

In my brief time in the Chamber Two saferoom, I was not given such an opportunity as you supposedly were to use a gun or communicate with others. Neither was Epignosis, if his testimony is to be believed, may he rest in peace. I was told I could not communicate with others, and I was not given any hints or information about the puzzle. And no access to a gun, until I snatched it. I was hoping if I grabbed the gun the killings would stop.

But Mongoose, it's clear now that you purposefully misled Metalmarsh (and poor MP) to his violent and injust end. May I direct the jury's attention to Exhibit A:
Mongoose wrote:
Metalmarsh89 wrote:Mongoose, can you address each question individually?

Should the green cable be plugged or unplugged (on or off)?
* turn light off*
Here, MM, asks Mongoose to respond in her limited manner. Mongoose proves capable of doing so.

EXHIBIT B.
Mongoose wrote:
Metalmarsh89 wrote:
Should we cut (turn off) the pink wire?

*turn light off*
MM explicitly states which of Mongoose's communication options corresponds to which action he would take on the pink wire. Mongoose responds as before, with "turn light off", indicating that the pink wire should be cut. There was no room for error here, the consequence was death. Mongoose should have known that.

You didn't really go into why you are innocent. Epi and I had totally different saferoom experiences, which we enumerated ad nauseum. He experienced something totally different than I did, although they were both Lynchian. Just because he didn't have a whack at a gun doesn't mean that I did not either. I am totally befuddled by you stating you took the gun to keep it from me when there were three of us still alive and Lizzy could have been the killer then for all we knew. Why were you so certain it was me?

The MM thing was unfortunate, but I've gone into detail three times now about that. I was trying to tell him no and it was difficult to communicate via a cellphone.
I tried to paste it in two separate posts ab initio, but I got timed out while waiting to make the second post.

Overall, I feel like you are deflecting a lot toward me instead of proving why you are innocent. That's really the burden of proof each of us would have to meet. I spent 80% of my post talking about what I had done for the civ cause, explaining any perceiving misstep, and showing that I had behaved admirably, even when no one was watching (when in the saferoom and no one would have known that I had took someone else out). I only spent a few lines discussing your culpability.

I've been working on the puzzles or trying to just as much as anyone else. I initiated a lot of thoughts and booted the group into action at the beginning of both Chamber challenges. I don't really have anything substantial that proves my innocence other than that I've been genuinely trying to help and my track record is a lot cleaner than yours.

One gaffe, if it was even that, hardly makes my track record "a lot" worse than anyone else's.

Well I still think you were lying about what happened in the saferoom in chamber 2. I didn't get a chance to shoot anyone or receive a hint to the puzzle, nor did I get to communicate like you did. You seemed to know something about the books, and then the cypher code or whatever popped up but by the time I could get out of the saferoom to help with that Lizzy was brutally murdered and here we are. I wish I had had more time to prove my innocence by helping with the last challenge, but I mean, I guess we would have just ended up here in Chamber 3 anyway.
