Super-Speed Halloween Mafia

Here is our first attempt at a bite-sized mafia game on the Syndicate. It's so short, you can play in a single day. It's so small, it doesn't even need its own sub-forum. It's so fast, MP won't have have time to craft more than one post in a day phase (Kudos zeek). I will be your lovely cold-blooded host for this game, and SVS will be around to help direct traffic, answer questions, and be amazing. This is a speed game after all, so one host isn't enough. We've got a couple things figured out so far.
  • 1) Date - This game will take place specifically at 6:00 PM EST on Sunday, October 26th.
    2) Number of players - We will keep this at a maximum of 9 players in this game. Replacements/Substitutes will be handy in case something comes up from one of our players though. We can do less than 9 players, but not more.
    3) Theme - This game will be Halloween-themed. I know it's 5 days before the actual holiday, but I'm sure they'll be selling Christmas decorations that day anyway. We're not that far off schedule.
    4) Location - The game will be held right here in the Micro-Mafia sub-forum. We may try more speed-friendly locations for future games, but this one will be hosted right here at the Syndicate (llama will be happy).
There are also some things we are still ironing out.
  • 1) Time - EDIT: Time has been set for 6:00 PM EST on Sunday, due to popular demand.
    2) Number of players - As I said, we have a maximum of nine, but that will be dependent on interest and availability.
    3) Game Mechanics - Actually, these are pretty much set right now, I just have to put them together and post them. This will be a standard mafia game though, so don't expect anything too wild. There isn't enough time to get complicated.
This is it for now. I will have game details up here within the next week, including roles, rules, and riles.



Here are the roles!

Trick-or-Treaters (civilians)

1) Role blocker
2) Protector
3) Vanilla
4) Vanilla
5) Vanilla

Bullies (baddies) - get one kill each night, have BTSC

1) Vanilla
2) Vanilla


- As you can see, this is counting on 7 players playing. Any additional players will be added in as vanilla civilians, up to 9. If we get a tenth player (maximum), I will add one more baddie.


If I don't get enough players, this guy is playing.

If everything runs smoothly, I think 2-4 hours, depending on number of players and quickness of play.

Question to participants. Votes will not be changeable in this game, would you be okay if I ended phases early once all votes are placed? This will help speed the game along just a little bit more.



Related game information such as roles and other mechanics will be posted by this Sunday.

I don't want to say yes yet but I am interested think i might be able to, I'm not sure how it will play out. I'll probably end up saying yes and seieng what happens.

Assuming this is not just there for me since I am a Mod, there is a box next to the "to" field in a new PM that says "Groups". You should be able to click on "Registered Users" and PM everyone.

Sure, I see no reason not to. I am going to set up the game thread Sunday morning in a Day 0 mode, but roles won't be sent out until 6:00 PM. I'd say 5:30 will be the cut off time. I can have the roles sent out and the game started. I'd prefer a warning before hand, if there's a chance I might expect someone, but they aren't certain. Is anyone you know of in this situation? I know Matt said he might play.
