PM me here or on JTM as Cobalt if you have any questions. Thank you guys! Can't wait to play another game here soon when my schedule is free, I'll be GMing this one and one on my home forum at the same time.
This game just ended, fingersplints and I are among the civ winners. :) From the original TS players who signed up, I was the only one who wasn't mafia or bad-aligned indy - it's like reverse Syndicate or something for me. XD Even worse, TS guests like Missing Person, TGG and sig also drew mafia, only Scotty was civ. Furthermore, I survived till endgame (D9) despite my role being narrowed down to 1/3 from D1 and then blown away starting D4.

Thank you Cobalt for the game, it was a fun experience and also enlightening regarding some mechanics, tactics and interactions that are different from here. That being said, I'll probably reassess better in the future if I can play mafia on two different fronts at the same time.

We're currently on Day 7 in one timeline, Day 6 in another timeline, and Day 2 on another timeline.

Translation: the game isn't that far along yet, but I will say that it's a complex design. I'd still love to have you aboard, FZ.

Guess what - today's your chance at another victory!

Hey guys!

@fingersplints @Metalmarsh89 @Ricochet @SVS @Scotty

Teen Wolf mafia will be getting a third run over at Mafia Universe - I wanted some fresh faces on it, but it's having a bit of difficulty filling up. I would really appreciate it if some of you guys could help me fill some slots, take another stab at it. No lists this time though so roles will be completely randed, but I'm sure all of you would do awesome the second time around!

Hi guys

I'm two players short for RYM91.

It would be cool if some of you who are signed up there would be willing to play.
Even if you are not signed up there, we may be able to find you a shell account, so PM me if you would like to play and the reason you are not right now is because you are not on RYM.

In case anyone is unaware, the RYM OT board, where we host all our games, currently has a ban against new users. However, we had an old game (#50, I believe) where everyone played anonymously on brand new alternate accounts. These accounts have mostly remained untouched since and should presumably be able to circumvent the new user ban. I just logged on to my account from the game and it works just fine, and I'd be happy to loan it out to anyone who's interested, as long as you don't mind having an even goofier name than Sloonei.

Golden how active will the game be? Like do all the players post at JJJ/Sloonei's level or is that not expected?

I don't believe everyone does, but there are some familiar faces you will recognize that have that ability. XD

But it is only a 16 player game, so it should't get too wild (right?).

If anyone is bored, I'm going to host a Greater Idea mafia game in Naruto Forums:

http://www.narutoforums.com/showthread.php?t=1062300

This is a common mafia setup already used in other sites, where each player is given two roles at random from a master list of over 100 roles, and they get to pick one.

The game is not guaranteed to be balanced, but it is completely unpredictable. I've played it a few times and it was really fun.

Hey guys, I'd like to invite anyone who is curious to click this --> http://www.narutoforums.com/showthread.php?t=1061577 <-- and sign-up for what we on Naruto Forums call "Favorites".

This is the 6th year in a row we've held this game, sometimes considered the 'Super Bowl' of forum mafia. And this year, it's hosted by me. That means I can personally guarantee it will have the most advanced, badass, and complex roles in a large-scale madness game you've ever seen.

Last year it was co-hosted by your very own Dragon D. Luffy, so he can vouch for its fun factor and unpredictability.

The scope looks to be about 70 players, but it can handle many more.

The reason the signups go up this early, is because the role idea comes from you, the player, and then I research the subject matter and create the role myself between now and Summer. If you're at all curious about how this works, just click that link and read the posts. It's an institution on Naruto Forums, and almost every year has players from other sites joining in.

Be warned though, this is about as far from a vanilla game as it possibly gets in the world of mafia. If you're unable to properly play the game when you also have to think about a complicated role, or analyze the actions of others, this probably will be too advanced for you. (If you can play day-chess and night-chess, as the old-timers say, this will be a lot of fun for you)

But I have all the patience in the world for players who are low on skill/experience, but high on enthusiasm. I'll help you with any questions you may have. I'm Law there as well, so don't be shy.

Thanks for your time!

Dragon D. Luffy wrote:Isn't Something Awful a place similar to 4-chan?
Not really. It's a regular forum that costs money to have access to and has distinctive communities for a range of things. There is a board there that is akin to 4-chans worst ones but it is only one of the boards, most are just like sports discussion, TV chat... just a range of subjects. If you stay away from GBS and FYAD it's a great place to post.

I haven't played there, but they did participate in the Mafia Championship held by Thingyman last year, and they seem to be one of the "Big X" mafia communities, so they have quite the userbase.

On-topic:

First year of the Champions game, Tom and thingyman asked me to play-- but I turned them down, because I didn't have the time, and nominated Soneji (WPK) to go in my place.

Do you guys have an idea who you'll send this year?

I won't be participating this year, I've already informed Thingyman of that. I just don't have time with my move happening pretty much during the games. I'm actually not sure finalists are meant to play in the following tournament anyway; I don't believe any finalists from Season 1 took part in Season 2.

They're about to have an exhibition game between the finalists from those first two seasons, it should be a lot of fun to watch. Unfortunately I can't take part for the same reason above.

I am really looking forward to hashing out with my folks on RYM who should be the representative this year. It'll be so much fun to root on someone else from the motherland.

Last year I only watched game 3. I honestly wanted to watch more but in the end it seems Game 3 was enough for a whole year.

Godanmit, that game was insane.

This year I promise I'll watch at least the ones with the NF and SYndicate representatives.

That's who we're nominating, I do believe. WPK's like me, we prefer role-madness to vanilla/generic 'purity'.

If they do a Faves-level role-madness Champions game, I'll come out of retirement for that shit. I just can't be bothered to get it up for the generic games.

Also, what's RYM?
