glhf everyone!
I have many questions about the combat rules.Metalmarsh89 wrote:Why are there combat rules for this plane? I just wanted a safe, tranquil flight.
Does this mean that the odds of success are the same regardless of the target/distance? If the person being shot in the head is an arm's length away, shouldn't that require an easier roll than someone on the other side of the plane? Likewise, shouldn't aiming for a person's eyeball be harder than aiming at their torso? How is this taken into account if at all? If you miss your target, is there a chance of hitting a bystander? Explosive decompression is largely a myth, but what effect do bullets passing through the hull of the plane have? Do you have to roll for aim if the target is yourself? How is suicide viewed in this game anyway? Can I ask one more question? What happens if you say "no" and I've already asked it, like I just did?insertnamehere wrote: A player with an Aim stat of 6 PM's me saying that he wants to shoot another player in the head with a gun from their inventory. At this point, I'll use http://www.random.org's random number generator. If the number is lower than six, the player's aim stat, the result will be a success, and the person they were aiming at will instantly die. If the number is 7, 8, 9, or 10, the bullet will miss.

Yep.
If the person being shot in the head is an arm's length away, shouldn't that require an easier roll than someone on the other side of the plane?
Well, it's a fairly small airplane. There really isn't any place to run to, and the idea is that everyone is kind of in extremely close quarters. So, I'm not really factoring that into consideration. Also, I'm a lazy bum, and I just don't want to add another layer of complexity to this clustermug of a game.

I plead the MST3K defense.
If you miss your target, is there a chance of hitting a bystander?
OK, if there is a situation where two or more people are very close together, I may add a low chance that a bystander could be hit. It'll depend on the situation.
Explosive decompression is largely a myth, but what effect do bullets passing through the hull of the plane have?
That depends on how many shots are fired, and where the bullets end up.
Do you have to roll for aim if the target is yourself?
Nope.
How is suicide viewed in this game anyway?
*sigh* Yes, you can kill yourself, but if you really hate my game that much, I'd rather you just asked me to quit instead of taking the coward's way out. I'd view it as a real dick move.
Can I ask one more question?
Yes.
What happens if you say "no" and I've already asked it, like I just did?
I would just ignore the question, and not answer it.
Trust me, that's not possible.Vompatti wrote:i sure hope obama won't shoot us down!
As of right now, yes. But I'd like to end turns earlier if I can.Made wrote:Will days/night be beginning/ending at 11:30 est?insertnamehere wrote:OK, WE'RE FINALLY IN THE AIR!
Not a problem for me, but i just want to clarify.

So would I. The earlier I can finish this stuff, the better.Turnip Head wrote:I'm guessing that the quicker we all send in our actions, the quicker INH will update the turn. Or at least, I'd be okay with that

Planes are naturally phallic. No girls allowed. In this, INH has created the most accurate simulation of aviation.Turnip Head wrote:I just realized what a sausage fest this game is

No it wasn't. It was a preachy, tedious condemnation of the glories of alcohol.DharmaHelper wrote:No but really, Flight was pretty good.

Nah, I think it was.thellama73 wrote:No it wasn't. It was a preachy, tedious condemnation of the glories of alcohol.DharmaHelper wrote:No but really, Flight was pretty good.
it's an eta. if something were to disturbing the plane, then we get a new eta. If that new eta is longer than our fuel, the plane will crash before it arrives.Vompatti wrote:Are we really not allowed to discuss the game in this thread or may I ask how the plane will run out of fuel after it has landed?
Exactly. Made is right.Made wrote:it's an eta. if something were to disturbing the plane, then we get a new eta. Only people who can see the body, or are told by someone else will know of a person's death. They'll also know who was behind the role.Made wrote:How will death be dealt with this game? If someone dies will this immediately be known to all passengers on the plane?

It can't be answered, so it has no answer.DharmaHelper wrote:Is the answer to this question no?thellama73 wrote:Don't ask questions that can't be answered.DharmaHelper wrote:DharmaHelper wrote:Does anyone know an indirect/direct way of asking the host where the main thread objective is? You assume the only possible answers are "yes" and "no"thellama73 wrote:It can't be answered, so it has no answer.DharmaHelper wrote:Is the answer to this question no?thellama73 wrote:Don't ask questions that can't be answered.DharmaHelper wrote:DharmaHelper wrote:Does anyone know an indirect/direct way of asking the host where the main thread objective is? I make no such assumption. The question is unanswerable. Therefore no answer is possible.DharmaHelper wrote:There are infinite possible answers. Whether or not any of them are correct or even coherent, completely different story.
No, I do not.DharmaHelper wrote:Does anyone know an indirect/direct way of asking the host where the main thread objective is?
