Rules -

This game is quite different unless you played my Haunted House on The Piano Hill game.

The roles first listed are roles that are in the game.
The abilities listed with those roles are in the game.
Here is where it gets tricksy,
The roles and/or abilities change nightly according to a pre-determined schedule.
However, if you are a Possible Dinner and only abilities change then you will still have a Possible Dinner ability.
If roles change then the abilities that are currently with that role change along with it.
So one day you could just be a Possible Dinner waiting to be eaten then the next you could be Killing or Starving someone to death.
Once an ability has been killed or lunched with a role it will remain out of rotation for the duration of the game.
There will be chances to stop the rotation at different intervals throughout the game but there is also a chance that they may never be stopped.

Otherwise all normal game rules apply.
I will be posting in Dead Red so if you are dead post in Purple or Pink please.
If you have a problem or something is making the game un-fun please contact Spacedaisy as she will be your Game Moderator <3 and is expert at such matters.
My say so is final.

I have to say that the Unforseen Forces are all very formidable irl, and weather & hunger are very frightening. Having spent 4 hours to travel 14 miles in snow tonight (grrrrrrrr) not big fans right now.

No offense intended :)

I'm going to vote I. Is it just me, or is it going to be really hard to catch baddies if the baddies are always changing?

Rox, another question, sorry. Just so I understand the rules correctly, since they are unconventional... and to help understanding of our three resident new mafia players as well:

Is it possible to be a civilian one cycle and a baddie the next? I presume if a player were to die (by lynch or night kill) that the player would die with whatever ability and alignment he or she had at that time?

But otherwise, as long as a player continues living, it is always possible that your role ability and/or alignment could switch?

It seems that way. Perhaps a plan can be devised. Otherwise, it seems there might be more luck involved than usual.

Yes, a plan! How about we agree not to lynch anyone, and then when we rotate into the baddie roles, we use the night kill on ourselves? Civvie win!

Yes it is possible to be a baddie Day 5 then a civvie Day 6. (<< just an example)
And yes, when someone is lunched or night killed then whatever role and ability they have goes with them.
It is possible they could continue to change all game but its also possible they won't.

Consonants, yes.

Re: The Donner Party - A New Beginning

by Epignosis
That's seventeen unique consonants.

Given that there is a Q, then we can assume there is at least one U involved. Statistically, there would be fewer instances of U elsewhere.

The W, T, H lead me to believe there's more than one I.

The instance of a J indicates an E more than any other vowel.

Wheel of Fortune leads me to think that choosing I and O is most sensible. However, if we are buying a vowel from Alex (who hosts Jeopardy!) and not Mr. Sajak, our answer should be in the form of a question.

So, may I buy an O?

But E is the most commonly occurring letter in English, so that should yield the most results.

Yes- that's the reason Wheel of Fortune gives you the E in the bonus round, along with R, S, T, L and N.

When you can guess a vowel based on context, you shouldn't ask for that vowel. That's why most contestants in the bonus round will choose I or O. Those two tend to be harder to guess based on surrounding letters, especially when part of vowel pair.

And, as long as there is nothing to vote for but vowels, yes, that is what I'm doing. When your name appears up there, then I can consider if you are good or bad (or will be any time in the near future) and vote accordingly. :D

Whoa, cannibalism game is crazy already.

I absolutely think "lunching" people is the most exciting innovation in mafia in ages, if not ever.

I vote "I", but whosoever votes "Y not Y?" is objectively right.

Hello friend.

No one knows what the options in the poll mean. Good luck with that, I guess!

In Mafia, you vote for someone to be out of the game during "Day." That will be in about 42 hours (I think).

During the "Night," you use your power, usually by sending a PM to the Host (Roxy in this case).

I hope you have fun. Let me or anyone else know if you have any other questions.

Hmm, maybe the poll is some sort of randomizer, or just a meaningless diversion then.

So are in daytime, nighttime, or is it still pregame right now?

To keep with the theme of the game. I brought some fine young men home from the gym, murdered them, diced them up, and turned them into a stew. I'm really looking forward to this game.

Also, I voted U, because I want to eat u.

Game!

Welcome new players :D . I think you chose the wrong game to start your mafia experience. Not sure any of us will be able to help, but ask away :hugs:

Now, I wonder if the wheel of fortune thing is related to the rotations. Like if we find the right letters, we switch to a new role or something.

I'm going with u
