I would say I thought Golden's aggressive pursuit of suspicion using only a D0 poll was suspicious, but I know better. :P

If memory serves me, which it never does, that kind of post would make me very suspicious of you, for some reason. It used to be a sign of....something. I'm sure it will all come back in due time. Maybe another beer or ten.

Well, the eyewitness wasn't an option on the poll was he?
I'm not sure I'd necessarily jump to the conclusion that the Day 0 poll was pointless just because of the post. Even if nothing came of it, perhaps there was potential for some unknown result.
It's just that I've noticed a reasonable amount of hosts write/know their posts ahead of time and that's what is posted regardless of the poll results. I can point back to the arthurian game rabbit hosted I spoke of earlier. All the time, characters I knew were dead would be featured in the posts, and it confused people. Things aren't always what they seem.

Given that the solution to the Day 0 poll was someone not on the poll, maybe the killer is someone not on the poll here.

Well yes, but it doesn't have anything to do really with voting pattern. Someone made a good point, perhaps it was golden, people voting for one of the options weren't really providing a reason why they thought it was a good choice, (and correct me if I'm wrong) even after being called out on it. He's right, it did feel sort of bandwagonny. Either circumstantial phenomenon or something going on there.MovingPictures07 wrote:Lol, considering I asked specifically if anyone had any reads, sure. :PMetalmarsh89 wrote:I've nothing to say really, but you sound like you were waiting for someone to step forward with a read or something.

From what I remember of people, I don't have any reason to suspect Sophie, golden or mandi at all.
I agree your attitude towards analyzing was odd, but I also understand the viewpoint on day 0 polls sometimes being meaningless, and being busy with other things. Quirkier my eyebrow but nothing major.
I feel nervous about a couple people because I don't remember them posting. If they have, the content was so flufftastic that I overlooked it.

Anti-marriage, eh?
I don't have any particular suspicion of the more active people in the Day 0 Lynch, like Golden. It's not that they're any more likely to be Civvie than baddie because of it, but I want to play a game with enthusiastic case-builders, and people who are willing to put themselves out there.
I could see my vote going to someone who seems to be trying to lay low and hold off giving opinions or making cases. That's my Day 1 opinion of things... I want to start this game off right, with interested participation. Soon, I may just accuse someone of something for reactions. That's a time-honoured tradition that I enjoy, and it can even work!

Re: Who Framed Roger Rabbit? [Day 1]
Duly noted, BF, thanks for elaborating.
I do find it noteable though you don't name a single suspect even though you give stock into D0 like Golden does. You said some votes seemed bandwagony but didn't provide any names of people you suspect, even though you said you don't suspect three players. You also said my behavior was "odd" but don't quantify if that equates to suspicious (if you did, I missed it, but you didn't say this outright; I'm not sure what quirking the eyebrow means). That honestly pinged me a bit. Who are the couple people who aren't posting that you're worried about?

Nub rabbit. Gotta grow up sometime!
I don't see myself voting for bf, for no other reason then I'm super excited to see him in a game again <3
I could see myself voting a quiet player if no one does anything suspicious. bass I know has reasons for his absence, but there are several others I don't remember anything from.
I didn't put all that much thought into my Day 0 vote, so I'm not going to fault anyone for their day 0 vote reasoning. If it was anyone else but golden I might find how much he is analyzing it suspicious.

Re: Who Framed Roger Rabbit? [Day 1]
Bf's post felt reasonably normal bf to me. When he said 'i don't find golden, sophie or mandi suspicious' the way that looked to me is he talked to the people he has the best reads of, generally speaking,
However, I did get a different ping from bf. He came in quite late in the poll and voted for Furman, saying:

At the point bf voted I thought... it's too late for Furman to win the poll, there aren't enough votes left. Like, if I had two choices I liked that late in the poll, I'd pick the one that had the chance of making an impact. Why vote for something that won't win while also throwing out that your second choice is something that could win?blindfaeth wrote:Fwiw I voted furman. Also, I know I was wrong about the day 0 poll, but the baddies didn't know that. Although I know now that they couldn't have had info, I still find the behaviour of Aces and Elo curious.

And I'm also not averse to lynching Zomberella if she doesn't post at all. There's being a low poster and then there is not noticing the game has begun.

Duly noted, splints and Golden. I'll mull over this, but if I had to vote right now, it'd be for BF. Of course, we still have time, and I have a meeting later today, so I'll be back in the evening and hopefully will have a chance to re-read the thread up to the point as well.
Does anyone have any other thoughts on players? Golden, just how suspicious do you find Aces and Elo for their behavior? I personally didn't see it, but I'm curious nonetheless.
I'm not willing to vote for a low poster at all, and I'm a bit surprised that players are considering it. It's no better than randomizing.

There's a lot of low posters. There's very little on topic discussion. There's not much to go on.MovingPictures07 wrote:Duly noted, splints and Golden. Ergo, lynch Rabbit.

Wording them carefully. How so in your opinion? Been so long I don't even remember anyone's tendencies. Can I get some examples please.

MP's baddie game is marked by excessive smilies.
AceofSpaces says "blaaah!" a lot when indy.
Golden has never played mafia before.
I am never bad, so I don't know what my tendencies are.
Juliets only posts in brown text (the color of coffee) when bad.

Re: Who Framed Roger Rabbit? [Day 1]
I mean, like, I guess what I expect is people read the thread and think about what others are saying. I had publicly shed doubt on it being the porter. Aces voted before even posting once. Elo earlier said her instinct was the porter based on a first read but would hold her vote... then later on said 'i read the post again and i still think its the porter'. What about what everyone else is saying about the post? Just the post itself? To me just putting a vote on the thing that is already in the lead with no explanation just looks dodgy, it's the kind of thing you do to avoid heat or standing out. Baddie tactics generally, in other words.MovingPictures07 wrote:Duly noted, splints and Golden. I'll mull over this, but if I had to vote right now, it'd be for BF. And I agree low poster is no better than randomising. BUT - people who don't talk never give you any real reason to lynch them. I've never been opposed to a 'low posters/contributers get lynched day 1' strategy if there is no better suspect because it encourages people to post.

My first few games, I went hard after low posters for the reasons you're saying. It got me lynched a lot, because I was accused of going after easy targets who couldn't defend themselves, so I have mellowed since then. But my heart is still in lynching low posters.
Or, you know, Rabbit.

By wording them carfeully I mean that I got a vibe he was staying in the middle and avoiding taking any stance. Seeing which way the wind blows first.
I disagree that voting for a low poster is not better then randomizing. I am so fed up of seeing baddies win simply because they didn't bother to post so no one had any reason to suspect them. This makes me not want to play anymore. Also, there are players who are quieter when bad. So I think it's lots better then just randomizing.

In 10 minutes you went from not voting for him to voting for him. To me that's a quick turn around.
Though I do agree with him being a suspect. I get the same vibe from him. Your change was just weird to me, and I noted it.

It sounds like a number of us are agreed that a return to the Apollo Doctrine is in order.
No Vote (or in this case, post)=No Live.
I'm voting Zombrella, now.
