Just beat Super Mario Bros for the first time in my life. After being stuck in world 8 for weeks.

It was incredibly epic.

I was destricting myself from starting another game because I wanted to fulfill this mission. Now I can finally move on to something else.

Recently trucked through Fallout 4 after spending the previous falllout games literally on the sidelines. Such a great game. Don't quote this post directly or open the below spoiler tags unless you really really really want to lol.

Spoiler: show
Having spent most of the game with the Railroad, the end was particularly tough for me. I was determined throughout my playthrough that I would do whatever it took to get my son back. Finding out who exactly he was and what he'd become shook me, really. I hated having to do it but when he asked me to I joined him and killed every single member of the Railroad. One of the most powerful moments of a game I've played was making that decision. Going to the HQ and looking them all in the eyes before I dropped some Synth Relay Grenades and whipped out Deliverer, the Railroad weapon, in the chaos. The worst part wasn't betraying them; that had to be done. The worst part was knowing they didn't stand a chance. The worst part was how easy it was. The Brotherhood on the other hand, I consistently hated. Glad I got to fuck them up in the end.
Can't wait to see what sort of DLC they throw out.

Just finished Mad Max. Extremely repetitive. Quite annoyingly so, actually.
Despite this, the artwork was beautiful (incredibly detailed open world and destruction graphics. Nothing felt like a solid block.). Also, the story wasn't bad and most of the game play was incredibly fun. My only other complaint was that there wasn't more to the vehicle customization. I would have loved to spend a lot of time making a unique vehicle that no one else had.

Started playing Final Fantasy 6. First time I ever play a main series FF (I had played Cristal Chronicles and Tactics Advance, but they don't count).

So far it's pretty good. I didn't like it at the start, but around the time Sabin joined the part I started warming up to it. My favorite thing about the game is how each character has an unique battle system.

Keys thinks I should try one of the FF next. I don't know much about the series though as well, or if it's for me. I prefer games that involve a lot of collecting of items. If they have fighting/shooting I like more the sniping style. For example I spent an unnecessary amount of time during Resident Evil on crows and bats and shit.

I never finished Majora's Mask last year perhaps I should just revisit that.

FF VII is by far the best one. They are actually completely remastering it. I don't know the release date, but I highly recommend VII to you all.

I dont know if I told you guys about Undertale, but you need to play it if only for the music.

Also anyone who doesnt do a 100% pacifist playthrough is a heartless bastard. I dont know how anyone can bring themselves to kill any of the characters for a genocide playthrough.

I've been addicted to it lately.

It's an indie RPG which kind of deconstructs the genre. It makes you choose between killing or sparing monsters in the game, and has a number of different endings and paths depending on the choices you make.

It's only 10 dollars on Steam, and there is also a free demo. I highly recommend it.

Oh, and it also has a 10/10 soundtrack:

You didn't TGG, but DDL said this recently.

That's two rave reviews for the same game, and both of you loved the soundtrack. That's saying something.

Here have some spoilers then
Spoiler: show
Snape kills dumbledore
Spoiler: show
Venom Snake actually isnt Big Boss. He's the medic from Boss's helicopter after the mission to camp omega, influenced to act as his doppleganger while Big Boss avoids death elswhere and his memories are kept hidden from him until the end of the game.
Spoiler: show
Flowey is actually the soul of Asriel, Asgore and Toriel's deceased child. Flowey kills Asgore and steals the soul, and breaks the fourth wall to fuck with your game when you fight him, even overriding your save files.
Spoiler: show
Alphys is actually just using mettaton to make herself look good for you, and all the fights are rigged by her so you cant lose, except for the last one.

Look, what I mean is, it's possible to go into this game without knowing anything about how the gameplay relates to the endings, and that the whole game is a big message about killing and the consequences of your choices.

I've seen a playthrough of someone else who did it like that and it was awesome, he killed most of the bosses while slowly and slowly realizing what he was doing, until he finally decided the madness had to stop, so he spared Flowey at the end.

WHile in my case, I came in aware of how the three main endings were supposed to be achieved, so I played my first playthrough almost completely pacifist. It was fun, but I regret not going in blindly.

So we don't need to spoil that for more people. Don't talk about endings, please. Not even how the gameplay relates to them.
XthAtGAm3RGuYX wrote:And yeah you can start with a pacifist playthrough, as long as you know you can do one. I didnt say shit about the plots or characters..
Even if you start with a pacifist playthrough, you are getting the neutral ending if it's your first time.

That Giant Flower thing that looked like photoshop? That's the boss of the neutral playthrough.

I posted only yesterday about playing it, but I think I started sometime during the weekend.

Why second? I mean I understand now what you've hinted at needing to play Neutral Milk Hotel until you can do Pacific Rim, nonetheless I did everything to fit the criteria and be able to wrap it up as Pacific during this first playthrough..

I'll probably redo the game by walking down the other paths as well, given that the holidays are one week and a half away and it's not like I'm doing anything with my life right now. Heck, I'll even contemplating playing it berserk once. :dark:

Three playthroughs (neutral, pacifist genocide).

Each one has a different final part. The first time you play, you will see the neutral ending, regardless of whether you killed something or not.

Though if you beat neutral without killing a thing, the game lets you skip to the final part of pacifist.

Also if you do genocide, you can never get the normal pacifist ending again, only a "tainted" version of it where the game shows you your sins are permament).

So the order most people take is neutral-pacifist-genocide. Therefore, I guessed pacifist was your second one

TGG meant what he meant re: playthroughing as pacifist, not as neutral. Although at that particular stage, it's the same thing. Image

Oh yeah, that one. Awesome boss is awesome.

So you beat Neutral, then the game let you skip to the end of Pacifist because you hadn't killed anything, and you beat pacifist. Nice.

Nope, only Genocide does that afaik. Though if you beat Neutral again, the only things you might get are a slightly different ending depending on who you kill/date (there are 20 of them, so you should probably watch them on youtube some time), and some cool death scenes for the characters you kill (Undyne on neutral has a particulary sad death scene). Genocide is completely different because as soon as you leave the ruins, the game starts treating you as the mass murderer you are, so basically every major scene is changed.

Of course, if you try to play anything after Pacifist, the game will let you know how much of a monster you are for undoing their happiness.

Speaking of, I'm slightly triggered that the Undertale creator is so young (although, thinking about it, such a project is unlikely to have come from someone else), half his pics on the internet are hipster smug-tier. Makes me think of the creator of Homestuck, which, by comparison, went so far up its own assthology, I didn't even bother with the last two-three years of content. But credit where credit is due, the concept behind Undertale definitely has some clever touches.

Homestuck had some rough moments after 2011, but in the last year or so it improved quite a lot. The plot finally started moving.

I mean, if you don't mind huge time travel plots so crazy that they challenge the internal consistency of the comic and the rules of storytelling itself. Some people got pretty mad, but I appreciated the escalation.

Btw, in case you don't know, Toby Fox (guy who made Undertale) is one of the main members of the Homestuck music team.

I read that. Megalovania or whatevs was also used in Homestuck.

I had no issue reading Homestuck until Act 6, as if I were reading a manga or any other webzine. I genuinely have a recording of me singing I'm a member of the Midnight Crew somewhere in the deepest pits of my folders, passworded and never to be heard. But from there onwards, I think it went gradually tits up and, ever since Hussie also had meltdowns that made him pause the whole thing for months time and again, since I never followed closely any updates, I found it impossible to get back into it at all.
