I love to hear myself talk so I'm going to leave my notes here.

At first glance, this game appears unbalanced. Too few townies. Too many scum and survivors. However, inability to claim, no scum BTSC and at least two vigilante roles means a mass scum/neutral takeover is unlikely. As someone who has ran two Flash Rougues mafia games, I'm loving the theme of the roles and looking forward to reading them in full, along with a full explanation of the map. The whole letter thing is facinating.

As of mid Day 1, I am suspicious of Epi and Llama because I disagree with their scum hunting logic. However, I really dislike Elo's reaction to Epi's pressure.

I like LC and Dwarm's style. SVS and MM are running together in my head, possibly due to both asking a lot of questions and having animal avatars.

Refreshing to combine the more jokey day 1 of HCRealms with the more serious Day 1 of Mafia Universe.

More later, not that I expect anyone to see this.
Even by our standard, this game was incredibly complex, unique, and experimental. The Map idea has only been done twice here (this being the first attempt). The BTSC list mafia team is something I've only seen one other time on recollection (MovingPicture's Death Note), and even that game had mechanics in play to open up BTSC throughout the game. The role descriptions here were slowly revealed throughout the game, one letter at a time. This mechanic was rather popular on the Syndicate around this time. It's a fun puzzle that generates in-thread content. :D

Unfortunately, the host made a couple crucial errors in this game, and ultimately didn't reveal a full role list before disappearing at the game's end. But thankfully, despite the errors, he did finish the game out.

A World Reborn is the other map game we did here, hosted by Long Con and Black Rock. This one was a dandy of the game. BTSC galore!!! (And I got a little spirit marmot) :D

Would have voted Epi over Llama at the end of Day 1.

Holy shit you guys can talk at night?!?

Yup, talking at night is the norm around here. :nicenod:

But generally nightkilled players don't have their roles flipped. In a one-mafia team game that's not a big deal, but things can get a little more interesting when there are multiple teams.

We have a lot of weird conventions, but of course, each host is welcome to do his/her own thing.

The two map games I've played here have probably been the two most heart-wrenching games of mafia I've ever played. :fist:

Black Rock and I are EXTREMELY proud of winning this game. No one will ever know the complex series of events that each had to happen perfectly for us to win, but it was truly astonishing, and required us both to very literally play perfect games to win. Both in the thread and on the map... my god, I worked some of the silverest-tongued magic of my life this game. We were a baddie team with no BTSC and no nightkill, and we still won. :noble:

So I'm going to be disappointed when I get to the end and don't know who everyone was and what they can do?

Just the janitored night deaths are a pretty massive change for me. Especially with so many factions, I'd at least prefer an autopsy of alignment, if not character.

Thoughts from the Syndicate on pluses and minuses of not having this knowledge, especially for vigilante kills?

Just to comment on the first issue, there's a presumtive role list compiled by a couple of players, that's on the previous page. For what it's worth, this game is a very rare and odd instance in which the Host went AWOL during post-game without revealing the full design.

If by alignment you mean the "civ/bad/indy" status, I suppose players can claim to be civilians without repercussions, but isn't that the point whenever under pressure, for civs to defend themselves as being such and for baddies to lie and hope to get away with it?

Indies would probably fall closer to the no roledump rule, because they'd single themselves apart from the rest by claiming the true alignment.

Fortunately, I still have a word document with nearly all of the secrets I uncovered from this game.

To the best of my ability, I've constructed a master list of role abilities and assignments (feel free to correct me if you think I'm wrong).

Role Assignments

Captain Cold - Roxy
Heat Wave - S~V~S
Mirror Master - timmer (replaced Elohcin)
Weather Wizard - FZ.
The Trickster - S~V~S
Golden Glider - blindfaeth

Captain Boomerang - DharmaHelper
Abra Kadabra - Soneji
Dr. Alchemy - Bass_the_Clever 2.0 (replaced birdwithteeth11)
Magenta - Bullzeye
Folded Man - Spacedaisy
Rainbow Rider - MovingPictures07 (replaced reywaS)

The Top - Turnip Head
Blacksmith - Black Rock
Murmur - Long Con
Girder - Draconus/Devin the Omniscient (replaced ika)
Tar Pit - Epignosis
Plunder - DFaraday
Double-Down - Bass_the_Clever 1.0

Professor Zoom - AceofSpaces
Zoom - rabbit8
Gorilla Grodd - DREAM (replaced Made)

Wally West - Sophie
Pied Piper - Metalmarsh89
Barry Allen - thellama73

Role Abilities

Captain Cold - He’s the strict and no-nonsense leader of The Rogues. He can use his “Cold Field” to Role Block a player each night. He has BTSC with Heat Wave. Captain Cold is all about “the score”. If an Old Rogue is night killed, he will gain a night kill for his own use.

Heat Wave - A pyromaniac and one of Cold’s closest allies. He has BTSC with Captain Cold. Twice per game, he may start a fire at a location in his circle. The fire will destroy the location and will ~a~e ~ar~~~~ e~~~~~s of players who are currently in that location.

Mirror Master – A mercenary who has access to the Mirror Realm. He can spy on a player during odd nights. If he is checked, he will appear as a different and random role. In fact, he’s so skilled at creating illusions that even if he is lynched, he will appear as someone else.

Weather Wizard - Nature’s fury in the form of a disgruntled, wand-wielding father. Once per game (each), he may force the day to end early and the night to end early.

The Trickster - The most inexperienced Rogue and a notorious prank enthusiast. Leaves a “trap” on one player during even nights. If that player is targeted, the action is reversed.

Golden Glider - Searching for her brother every night. If she finds Captain Cold, she will gain BTSC with him and Heat Wave. She may then continue to search for other Old Rogues. She cannot be killed by the Old Rogues.

Captain Boomerang - Most heroes and villains alike consider him to be a bit unpredictable. He can throw a boomerang every night. The boomerang has a fifty percent chance to cancel the target’s next lynch vote. If it doesn’t, then Captain Boomerang’s lynch vote will be cancelled instead.

Abra Kadabra - He is a stage magician who uses futuristic technology to put on the greatest show on Earth. As such, he has a bevy of powers at his disposal. Once each, he can: insanify, power-switch, role block, power steal, silence, survive a kill, survive a lynch, or resurrect another player.

Dr. Alchemy - May use his Philosopher’s Stone to observe up to three different players per game. For each player he checks, he gains their power for a time, but they are also given a random power.

Magenta - She is a former love interest of Wally West and has magnetic abilities. She can prevent one lynch during the game. If she does, she will gain BTSC with the Detectives.

Folded Man - His suit grants him the power to become 2-dimensional. With it, he can blend into the floor and remain undetectable in all locations.

Rainbow Rider - He targets a player each night to fire a beam of colored light at. If the beam hits an Old or Independent Rogue whose signature color matches the beam, the two will gain BTSC for a day. If these conditions are not met, the targeted player cannot post in thread for a day.

The Top - He may spin… really fast. Night kills directed at him will be redirected at a random player. His spinning abilities somehow gave him the power to mind control as well. Every night, he may choose a player to act as he wishes during the next day.

Blacksmith - Searches to build her own group of Rogues. Every night she may search a player. If that player is a New Rogue, she will gain BTSC with them. However, if she searches and finds the Secret Role, that player will take over her power a BTSC and she will die.

Murmur - He is an insane doctor who developed a “frenzy virus”. On odd nights, Murmur will select a player. That player is silenced during the next day. If the targeted player targets another character during their next night, then the effect of the virus passes down to him/her.

Girder - A man transformed into pure metal. Girder cannot be night killed.

Tar Pit - A Rogue whose body is composed of sticky, molten tar. Players who occupy the same location as Tar Pit cannot move to a new location to perform actions until he leaves.

Plunder - A marksman from the Mirror Universe. He kills on even nights. Like Mirror Master, he will not appear as his role if he is checked.

Double-Down - A compulsive gambler whose skin is covered in cursed playing cards. He must place a bet on which player he thinks will be lynched. If he is correct, he will be rewarded. If he is incorrect, he will be penalized.

Professor Zoom - He wants to kill the Flash family more than anything else in the world. He’ll search every even night for a Flash. If he finds either Wally or Barry, that Flash will die.

Zoom - He thinks he can make all the other heroes and villains “better”. Each odd night he will Protect one player. That player will be randomly rewarded or penalized as well. If Zoom protects Wally, one of Wally’s teammates will randomly die. ?????????

Gorilla Grodd - He wants Keystone and Central City all for himself and his gorilla empire. He is the Serial Killer and is immune to all mind control. Because of Grodd’s telepathic power, he will know where every player is and what they’re up to during the game. ?????

Wally West - He’s the fastest man on Earth. As such, he cannot be night killed. He imprisons (kills) on odd nights.

Pied Piper - A part-time Rogue who’s going undercover to help Wally and Barry. He cannot be lynched unless Wally is dead. He is given information every night by an informant that may be true or false. Each day, he can post a message about his findings.

Barry Allen - An intelligent forensic scientist and the first Flash. Barry Role Checks a dead player every night, also picking a letter from that player’s name. The chosen letter is solved in all secret role descriptions.

Juliets was a smart lady! Aces PMed me his role:

As a speedster, once we enter the map phase at the end of Day 0, you'll be able to move up to 2 squares at a time instead of the normal 1.

You'll win by eliminating both of the Flashes and surviving the battle unscathed. Good luck!
So that's one Archvillain.
