Those are the current NL East standings. This is a clever trick from the Mets. They do this ALOT, but the fans still fall for it. It's kinda like the "Lucy Pulling the Ball Away Before Charlie Brown Can Kick It" trick. They get the fans all worked up and excited, and sometime around the All Star Break, they will collapse and turn into a pile of goo that could be beaten by the Peoria Little League.

But I love them anyhow. :keys:

I don't even care if the Reds don't make the playoffs this season. I just want to see Johnny Cueto win the Cy Young.

It's also nice to see Joey Votto back and pretty darn healthy. Already 12 RBI's and 5 HR's, and swinging a pretty sweet bat.

Whoa, the Reds dropped 16 runs on the Brewers. They haven't scored that many runs since 2007.

And the Mets forgot how to lose this past off-season.

Cards are sliding, I don't like it. Still ahead in the NL, but they were leading the league two weeks ago.

The Sox, Red, are a constant source of disappointment. I occasionally root for Kansas City instead.

though i admit they've been getting it together a bit of late.

The Reds can beat them anytime that is not the postseason.

Still, the Reds can't beat the Cardinals at all. It's almost embarrassing watching those series. :(

I like Jay Bruce.

In fact, I would say that I am a fan of almost every Red's regular. My least favorite player on the team is Aroldis Chapman. He is incredibly gifted, but I don't like his body language, and his attitude.

Fun facts about the Cincinnati Reds.

Joey Votto's walk-up song is Goodbye Stranger by Supertramp. :guitar:

Their backup catcher, Tucker Barnhart's walk-up song is Working Man by Rush. :drums:

Brock Holt finally did something yesterday to make the Red Sox worth watching this year. Kinda reminds me of last year, when Brock Holt was the only thing that made the Red Sox worth watching.

All right, we,re approaching the all star break, and the Mets, already precariously hovering around .500 are poised to do their yearly implosion.

Still it could be worse; I could have been born into a Yankee family :noble:

As exciting as this suspended extra inning game between the Reds and Mets is, I think they've forgotten that they've got another game to play later today.

Still, I can't complain about free baseball.

Speaking of moves we're sad to see happen, the Red Sox DFA'd Daniel Nava yesterday because their pitching staff sucks and they needed bullpen help.

That's the funny I meant. I consider us Cincinnatians to be spoiled with how knowledgeable and interesting our broadcasters are. They are fantastic, and will praise and scorn each team equally, and give a fair shot to either side.

But the Mets' announcers were even more interesting. For example, Jumbo Diaz came on to pitch the top of the 9th for the Reds. One of the broadcasters stated when the inning opened up "Now this is a guy you wouldn't want to charge the mound on. But if you did, you'd punch him in the gut first, 'cause he's got a big one." Just hilarious stuff.

They take the "color" in "color commentators" seriously :noble:

Especially Keith Hernandez, he's a character. I grew up with Ralph Kiner and Lindsay Nelson. They were a bit more sedate but only marginally so. I might be biased but I think we have the most entertaining announcers in baseball.

Most of the NL teams I have watched have had at least decent announcers, and some other noteworthy clubs are the Cubs, the Pirates, and the Cardinals. The Marlins' announcers (and everything about their TV broadcast) were terrible. The Orioles broadcasters were quite boring, but they're the only AL team I remember seeing this season.

But I would agree, the Mets had the most colorful broadcasters I've heard this season.

The only teams I do not feel inclined to root for in contention for this year's post season are the Yankees (obvious) and Dodgers (also obvious). I expect to be pleased by any result in October, but if I had to choose any two teams I'd root for the Blue Jays in the AL and the Cubs in the NL. But I'll be rooting for no individual player harder than Adrian Beltre.

I always root National League first (except Braves, I will root for Satans Minions first), the Mariners & Twins (the closest thing I had to local teams when I lived in Montana).

But yeah, Mets first, then Cubs.

Flying cars may have been far-fetched but it's 2015 and we've got hoverboards, so why not a Cubs World Series win?
