Naruto games all have really shitty netcode unless you're fighting somebody who lives down the street.

What games do you have for 360? My multiplayer games are mostly Fighting Games and older good shooters. Like MW2 and COD4. I play a lot of single player stuff nowadays though. I've played a ton of games though. Almost got 70k gamerscore now.

Do you have any of the Gears of War series, Mr. X?

Have the first one because I got it for free from XBL.

Got the third one too and almost re-upped a third time before I quit playing it. Beat the campaign on insane, and beat beast mode solo on insane. Used to play the shit out of that game.

Nice. You're WAY better than I am then. :P I'm not big into shooters, with Bioshock being the main exception, but I would say the Gears of War series is my favorite of non-Bioshock ones. I like the Halo series OK and Call of Duty I just could never get into, probably because I suck the most at that one.

I just went back and finished Bioshock 2. I actually thought Infinite was the lesser of the three games. People hold it in high regard because "muh story! Muh illusion of choice(which was also in the second game)" but overall the game play was hands down the worst of the series. Problem being that vigors lost most of the creativity and utility of plasmids, replacing tonics with gear slots was downright stupid, and you have an infinite ammo cheat code that the game decided to name Elizabeth. The only vigor I really used was possession, and eventually undertow. I got the hand cannon at the arcade on the artificial beach, and it stayed in my inventory the entire game going forward because it killed in 2 shots, and Elizabeth never let me run out of bullets for it.

Getting rid of healthpacks that you can carry in lieu of an uninspired generic regenerating shield felt really lame. That and no more Eve hypos got rid of the survival element to an extent. That lack of the horror sub-genre that Rapture created in its games killed it for me too. I did like the skyhook though.

I appreciate that they tried a different location and Columbia was actually pretty cool. But I feel like Rapture was too large of a factor in Bioshock games. I couldn't get over the gameplay changes but I beat it anyway.

That's understandable. I agree that the gameplay is better in Bioshock, and I prefer Bioshock over Bioshock Infinite, but the story and atmosphere of Infinite still trump for me and I still love it.

I thought Minerva's Den was better than Bioshock Infinite. Minerva's Den was deeply depressing.

I might agree with you, Epi, tough to say though. But I agree it was depressing (yet totally amazing). And on the topic of depressing... that makes me sad, Vomps.

Minerva's Den was a rare instance of the twist actually surprising me.

Bioshock's twists got me every time, but to be fair, I'm not one to usually see twists coming in general (when we watch movies, Daisy always catches the twist and I don't).

I'll add you and see what you have. I'm getting my own internet soon so in about a week or so my online connection will be stable, but for now I'm borrowing internet from the other half of my duplex. I don't do online multiplayer when they're home out of courtesy for letting me use it.

So I'm thinking I'm gonna finally bite the bullet and actually shell out money for a new system (I haven't bought anything recent for years). Question for those of you that have them: should I go for a DS or a Wii U? I can only afford one (if we can call it "affording"), and I'm leaning towards the DS since I've been wanting it for ages, but there are games I want (and will definitely want in the future) for the Wii U, too. Thoughts?

It really depends what you are looking for. I love my DS because I can take it anywhere with me. But if you are looking for the better games you have to go with the Wii U I am a xbox guy myself but I'm jealous of the games coming out soon for the Wii U. The new Zelda game and the new Star Fox game look amazing.

Definitely get the Wii U. No question.

I say this as an owner of both the 3DS and the Wii U. Love them both, but Wii U Smash is better, 3D World (Wii U) is better than 3D Land (3DS), etc. In addition, the prospect of new amazing games. However, I do recognize that 3DS has Zelda OOT and MM remakes, while Wii U only has Wind Waker remake (at the moment), but there's Zelda Wii U.

Like Bass said, unless you REALLY want mobility, get the Wii U.

Also, if you do spring for the 3DS, get the New Nintendo 3DS XL specifically. The XL makes a HUGE difference and the "New" one has Xenoblade Chronicles remake (can't buy that game for the original 3DS) and a few new neat features that are worth the extra $$$, so I've heard.

So just out of curiosity, and I know it's not a video game but it's still game-related and is a type of game, does anyone else here play escape the room games? I go on and off with my addiction to them, and it's hard to find new ones that are actually any good. So far, I like these three sets the best:

http://terminalhouse.com/index.html
http://www.mateuszskutnik.com/submachine/
http://neutralxe.net/esc/

So I was just curious if anyone else shared in my ridiculous addiction and if so, what are your favorites? And if you have no idea what I'm talking about and like puzzles and logic and wasting absurd amounts of time doing these things to the extreme, I suggest you give them a shot and ruin your life forever enjoy yourself (and let me know what you think!)

Did you guys hear about Ryu being put in Smash Bros?

HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE

I think they are giving him normal chaining properties, or at least proper fighting game combos. At around 0:33 he chains crouching short>crouching forward and cancels that into a tatsu. That's classic ass street fighter right there

BUT EMULATORS ARE ILLEGAL! MY DAD WORKS AT NINTENDO IM GONNA TELL ON YOU!

Anyway though I love it when a game makes you feel like a complete badass by accident. I was playing Old World Blues on Fallout New Vegas earlier. I went into the X-12 research center and encountered a glitch where a Master Trauma harness enemy phased through the floor with what was essentially a Mini Gun. Just by looking at VATS I noticed it was gonna take me awhile to kill him and we were in a small area with no cover for me to take. So I aimed at his gun burned all my AP just blasting the shit out of it.

I shot the gun out of his hand, it bounced off the wall behind him and landed by me. I picked it up and he didnt have anymore weapons to fight me with lmao.

I hope you actually got the joke lol.

It was a play on back in the day before people really abused the internet for game stuff. whenever you got into an argument with your friend about a video game you could say "Yeah well my dad works at *insert company*" and it would almost make you sound legit until you had to prove that your dad worked there

Oh, haha, that totally went over my head. :haha:

Now that you mention it, I do recall a few such instances.

Then again, I've often never been one to pick up on jokes, so I suppose it's not too surprising. :P

So, I'm by no means a "gamer", and for a long time was super prejudiced against video game culture..... but the BF works in the industry, and so since meeting him I've been learning more and more about games and been exposed to more and more interesting non-mainstream stuff (true fakt: Did you know there's more to video games than Mario and Call of Duty? I did not! Now I do!), so we're playing through a bunch of super cool games (some new, some really old) that he's PROMISED that I'll like. So far, the results have been pretty good. I'm absolutely TERRIBLE at games that require any sort of dexterity and/or timing (watching me play Assassin's Creed: Unity was one of the most hilarious things the BF has experienced recently), but I am really starting to love odd, quirky, story-heavy, puzzle-heavy indie games. My favourites so far are:
Braid (I sucked at it, but found it fascinating.)
Broken Age (we finished Part 1, still playing through Part 2)
Fez (sooooooo weird amazing awesome)
The Talos Principle (reminds me of Myst which was my only previous instance of loving a game, but waaay less creepy)
Valiant Hearts (it has a dog!)
Stacking (such a neat mechanic!)

If you guys have suggestions for things you think I would like based on this list, let me know!!
