Vocaroo Mafia (audio recordings) [CLASSIC GAME]

We've done this twice on RYM and it was incredibly fun. I'm curious whether y'all Syndicate folks might be interested. Here's the gist of it:

The entire game is played via audio recordings. Every post. Text would be legal, but only in very limited amounts to "describe" the contents of a recording so it'd be easier to sort through content. For example:
JaggedJimmyJay wrote:I'm suspicious of Player X.
or
JaggedJimmyJay wrote:

I'm suspicious of Player X.
The actual setup of the game can be just about anything. As host though I'm sure I'd trend toward things that I like the most. I can bother expanding on that if people express interest in this idea. Both RYM games ruled, but they were also quite small (each less than 15 participants). I have a feeling we'd be able to generate more action around here. Whaddya think?

UPDATE 9/22/16

I am submitting this officially as a heist game. It will be an open setup for 13 players:

Civilians:
1x Even Night Cop with pre-game peek on a vanilla townie
1x Odd Night Jailkeeper (the kind that combines protection with roleblocking)
8x Vanilla Townie

Mafia:
1x Role Cop
2x Mafia Goon

It'd be cool to have a Syndicate version over here.

Alas, I hate my voice and I'm not satisfied with my speaking English, so I would not participate.

The voice in your head representing me laughing at you losing mafia games is nonetheless simply fictive.

I smirk slightly more than that. :dark:

This would be fun, but it would severely impede my ability to play at work. :)

ah good point llama. the same would be true for others who play from work or school and I think there are plenty of those people around.

We had one person play at work. He went into a bathroom stall to make posts. :haha:

I do understand that this would be a restriction though. Generally it should be expected that this game would feature fewer posts in general. The benefit, I think, is that recordings can be a bit longer in word count than posts without being excessively long. :)

If this happens and I'm able to play, I will probably have to play the whole game using my Kermit the Frog impression. Or do a different voice each day. A different voice for each post would be the ideal but that might be too much work.

I officially boycott this game unless G-Man plays.

Ha! If my level of participation weren't already poor enough, having to make audio recordings would reduce me to maybe 5 posts per lynch cycle.

Admit it though- you're dying to hear Kermit the Frog call you 'Golden the Coward.'

I intentionally avoided vocaroo games on RYM. Actually vocaroo games were where I drew the line.

But...

I just might if the game is manageable if it's gonna be a 30 player game with audio recordings it would literally kill me.
I've noticed you're not very keen on smaller games but this is the type of game that anything above 20 players is a huge overkill. Something between 12-16 would work the best imo. Audio recordings take more time than posts to record and listen.

It could run as a special game, just like the Talking Heads game or, previously, Omerta, so as to not fall under the full/speed game player count requirements. However, if many members will be excited to join, I doubt it will be restrainable to 12-16. Maybe under 19.

Indeed, we could specifically set this up as the next TS/RYM crossover game and I can get this running as a Special Game. PM me if this is what any of you wants to happen.

That'd be cool with me. :)

Choutas is right that this game shouldn't be too large or it'd become quite hard to follow even for the most active players. I think somewhere in the 17-23 range would be ideal. I'm flexible though. I can also dig it being a special game as long as y'all who handle all that business are cool with it too. I don't want the game to interfere with someone else's hard work setup in terms of timing.

I'll make sure to speak with you regarding this ASAP so you know whether to submit it as a Speed/Full game if we do not get it running as a Special game.

How about this be a Heist? I imagine the only gimmick would be the vocaroo design, the game staying classic or not too role-pumped otherwise, and the numbers issue could be fixed that way (despite, perhaps, an excitement to sign up for such a thing that would exceed the 13 limit).

I'd like to see more than 13 participants if this becomes A Thing, but I'd be willing to roll with it if there isn't much interest being voiced. Also you're required by law to play Rico.

I'm updating this to make it an official heist game submission. It will be a small open setup of 13 players as detailed in the OP. I still really want to see a Vocaroo game happen on The Syndicate, and I think it'd be more likely to succeed if it's kept small like this. Perhaps if it turns out popular, a larger version can be tried at a later time.
