I already love what the whole 'one of these 4 paradigms, chosen randomly' is doing for game discussion.

Is Epi revenge voting Floyd lol

I don't think Diiny is scum and am not trusting Floyd's vote on him.

Looks like I made it easy for the Host to find Day 1 Post material. ;) For your next one, use this.

Also, all this time, I copied MP's designs of the cop getting only free civ peeks, I didn't realize there can also be free peeks of any kind. Time to go change my game designs.

Scums are Wilgy, JJJ and idk, at this moment, I'm feeling a third could be dormant.

That being said, I wouldn't be half surprised if Diiny (or Deeny) flips rekt.

@Rico - having a free baddie peek would be very unbalanced. The free civ peek is to balance the game.

Re: Spectator Chat

by Ricochet
I said free any peek, turning out to be a red peek, not free baddie peek.

That being said, I'm just as confused as my Rico counterpart in the game about Wilgy claiming he either got to choose [handpick] his peek (and got Diiny and it was red) or that the Host randomized it for him and actually landed on a red peek and handed him that peek. Would a Host undermine a mafia faction's odds from the very beginning?

So I'm leaning either town shenanigans (body smokescreening, as Wilgy himself put it) or mafia bullsuit... actually, the latter gets the slight edge atm.

I'll have you know, that was one of the main reasons I used this theme. :P

The baddies are even the hatchet, axe, and saw.

I meant the Host Post material being down to the video/version of the song I posted - not the theme-related details and roles. ;)

Speaking of the latter, any sequoia in the game?

On an unrelated note, I still to this remember one of the questions in my IELTS speaking exam last year being about trees, what do I think of them (lolwut) and if I ever planted or hugged one (lolque!)... It made me pause for, like, 10 good seconds (which probably counted as a deduction in my score).

Also, votes are non-changeable in the non-existent poll and posts are non-editable in the thread. :noble:

Yes, there is definitely a sequoia. I specifically used names of trees that can be found in and around where I live, and thus lots of conifers.

If you feel like guessing more, I'll tell you if you're right. :)

Also, I was hoping that someone (possibly from RYM) would take to starting the role-card claiming trend. Guess we'll see if that happens.

Not sure what to make of Epig. He always does his shtick, to the point of alignment indiscernability, but his ping on Floyd is illogical (Floyd would choose to return playing, despite saying otherwise, because he'd aim to receive a mafia role...erm?) and his idgaf on what's going on otherwise is a gambit he could choose to use. There's a chance he might be the cop and choose to stay in the shadows, TalkyH-style (how are we supposed to abbreviate this game, given that TH usually stands for Turnip?), but this is also a shtick befitting of mafia Epig with (some sort of) plan in mind.

I can't remember at all what Diiny (or...) got himself into (mild) trouble on D1 in THM. (Confirmed brain damage after playing that game.)

And baddies can't course-correct?

For the record, I don't have any views on Floyd, as of yet, but "waking up" contributions can certainly go both ways.

For instance, I imagine Epig will easily return with a suspish emoji on Floyd suddenly posting on-T. :p

Anyway, looking forwards to this EoD. The talks have been intense.

FZ is either a stressed baddie or having a hard time with the peek plays of a traditional game.

Re: Spectator Chat

FZ is familiar enough with this kind of play that I don't think she is having any difficulty with peeks.

I think she went too far down the rabbit hole of following Wilgy and is struggling to extract herself.

I would vote to lynch her.

The downside of these Spectator threads is that I have to log in every time I want to even check for new posts.

Still doesn't make me look less of a lunatic, logging every hour or so whilst awake. In games, I can sometimes stay offline and do my homework before joining to post.

I reckon the second I'll change my visibility habits, I'll earn myself a free stoning in the ongoing or subsequent game I'll be playing.

Felt the urge for a sec to comment on Enrique planning to step down, but then decided to better leave the Host clarify things. I mean, replacements are highly unlikely in Heists, considering there's a spectator thread visible to anyone logged in except the players alive, right? It'd be pretty hard to confirm the subtitutes are entering with no bias whatsoever, regardless if they posted or not in the Spectathread.

That's a good question, and one I never considered, mainly because I didn't expect to come across a scenario where a player would need to sub out in such a small game.

On one hand, you have no information available in this thread, so a player subbing in wouldn't learn something that they couldn't from reading the thread.

On the other hand, people have had the opportunity to discuss the game here as an observing party, a different frame-of-reference than if they were playing. Still, nobody's stopping players from doing this anyway, this spectator chat is just a host-endorsed location to do it.

With no dead players in here right now, I don't have a problem with a substitution should the game require it.

Re: Spectator Chat

Posted: Tue Dec 01, 2015 9:09 pm
by Ricochet
Enrique just stated his intentions depend on Wilgy's flip, so a dead player would emerge before a possible substitution.

Idk I still feel the substitute (whether he actively spectated in here or happened to perouse the chatter) would go inside the game with a little extra mindset, even if begign tidbits. A sub civ could have in mind what spectators found fishy, not just what has been discussed in-game, and work the extra stuff into the game. A sub mafia would still have to adopt the team's tactics and goals, I suppose.

Whatcha doing here, Mattsu?!

Re: Spectator Chat

Posted: Tue Dec 01, 2015 9:17 pm
by Marmot
True.

Either way, someone would have to sub in. It's better for the game if it's someone keeping up then someone who's not and has to start fresh.

I've subbed into a game a couple times with unintentional collusion. Both times I had discussed the game with MP outside of the Syndicate without any intention or expectation to be needed for the game. The hosts came asking me to sub, and I warned the hosts both times of these situations that I knew a thing or two I should not have, specifically, I knew what MP's role when no one else did. Both times, the host didn't mind, and let me sub in, seemingly because they needed someone to sub badly, and there wasn't another viable option.

That said, I think that the spectator chat at this moment offers some very minor benefits if a player would want to take advantage of it.

Re: Spectator Chat

Posted: Tue Dec 01, 2015 9:27 pm
by Ricochet
What you described is having had info. It's up to every Host, but I myself would have definitely not let you go inside as a sub with that much collusion. Again, what I described is far more begign, so it could work, but... food for thought, I s'pose.

I'd probably enforce a PScore drop in Heists if a player insists on stepping down, if due to lack of mood or RL time, when my time to host would arrive. A classic format specifically designed for one's comfort and unburdened (by role-madness demands) participation and you'd still be signing up without any motivation or actual time to play? I'd not be pleased. :disappoint:

I'm not enforcing P-Scores this game.

Fwiw, one of them was in a llama game. Do you know how llama resolved it? Llama announced that Bass (the person who had replaced MP then) and A Person (who I was replacing in for) had switched roles. Then he switched our roles. Problem solved. :haha:

I feel sorry for enrique but in all other ways that was fucking hilarious.

How so many people buy what Wilgy sells I will never know. Wilgy got enrique to counterclaim doctor and led his lynch. Insane gambit.
