Would lynch based on Radishes flip: sabie, Jack

Would not lynch based on Radishes flip: Sloonei, Jay, Mac

I’m leery of Dom. A lot of his posts seem to be making points/arguments that expose someone’s bad logic but are not actual scumhunting. This in tandem with his tendency to just say “you’re scum” to people, in place of a crafted argument, gives me heeby jeebies. It is entirely possible I’m projecting because I butted heads with him so I’d like others to check him out.

I see the votes on jack and I'm not sure. I thought i had a good idea of Jack's gameplay but I've been wrong a couple times. I feel like he tries really hard to blend in and look civ when he's bad and has been a more aggressive and jokey player when civ. He accused nutella in another game and ended up getting mislynched early on and was right about her. Nutella can be difficult to read at times but I have been able to read her correctly before. When I have more time later I'll have to read through their ISOs

Nanook was bad last game I played in and he was good at seeming like a civilian for awhile. I actually only started suspecting him towards the end. I haven't had a chance to look over his civ gameplay style to see if it is similar.
I saw JJJ put me in the bottom part of the reads when I haven't even done anything yet or is it because I haven't done anything yet? I didn't even know the game had started and it's a lot to catch up on. I'm not super talkative in the beginning of games sometimes but I'm trying to get better at it.

Sabie Sabie. I didn’t get mislynched. I can even physically be mislynched.

I gathered a few votes and then told Nutella she better shoot me and claim the mafia was trying to frame her, which is exactly what she did.

I’ve correctly read Nutella like 8 games running on D1. She’s a baddie.
Oh right yeah sorry it was tony who also suspected nutella that game that got mislynched. Then I told everyone hey maybe they were right about nutella and she ended up being bad. Point is this seemed like a similar situation.

I'm heading home from work now and I'll catch up on what's been happening the last 8 hours. Haven't had a chance to read everything yet.

He hasn't really seemed like he's trying to figure things out or anything.

I guess I'm not surprised jack is kind of changing what he said before about nutella. It seems as though he is trying to see how people react to his accusations and I know he can be tricky like that. I don't see it as a bad look for jack right now. I don't know if it necessarily changes my feeling on nutella but I'm curious to see what her response is to that.
Can you elaborate on your feelings on Nutella?

I saw you basically be like "Jack is good at reading Nutella" but I didn't see much in the way of what you independently think about her, given the posts I'm missing.
Sure so I'm not always as good at reading nutella as you claim to be. I thought she seemed similar this game to how she was in the Australian game with her responses to being suspected. I recall she strongly defended herself and threw suspicions in all other directions to see if it would stick. I thought that was kind of how she was reacting here. I think I've mostly seen nutella be mafia or indie in the last few games I've played with her though so that's what I'm used to seeing.

sabie mentioned Jack and interacted with Jack a butt load of times (there are others; I'm not quoting everything), and she made sure to talk about other people in the same breath. That's the same phenomenon JJJ pointed out regarding her treatment of Radishes.

"Would not lynch" is language for a 1-scum-team game. It's forgivable if Colin simply reverted back to normal habits here, but the word choice caught my eye and I want to highlight it. I agree with the assessment that Jay and Mac (and me) are not likely to be on Radishes' team, but that's not the same as saying I "would not lynch" either of the other two. I probably won't vote to lynch myself today.
This is a good enough point that I wondered if I was, in fact, scum, but it’s just me being imprecise with language. What I should have said was “Based on how Radishes’ lynch went down, these are not his teammates” and not “would not lynch” because the latter implies an ultimate townread when in reality it’s not.

For sig it is the interactive read that I think you made re: him and sabie.

For Mac, I don’t think I’ve been persuaded by any point yet. It’s true that he’s mostly been extremely defensive up to this point but I don’t think that’s indicative of scum Mac. 1) Mac has flipped his reads with zero progression
2) Sig accidentally claimed a failed nightkill on Mac, who would not have been protected by the town, pointing to Mac being the bulletproof wolf on the Master’s team.
3) Several players are defending Mac or pressing for alternative lynched to Mac. If Mac is a wolf, he has three teammates.
If I had to rank these I would say 2 > 1 > 3 as good reasons. In particular I don’t see why people defending Mac in and of itself makes him scummy. That’s operating as if Mac has been proven to be scum, in order to prove that he’s scum. :confused2:

@all

Let's have a trustfall exclusively for Jack. Do more people if you want, but I'm asking about Jack. What's the best argument that he is a civilian?
That emotional outburst of his at the beginning of the game.

I have wavered on it some as evidence has linked him to radishes/sabie. The emotion could have been a result of having a genuine suspicion as scum in a multiball game, but being suspected for it anyway.
I am almost positive Jack had a similar emotional outburst (against Glorfindel?) in a game where he turned out to be scum. Almost positive, maybe somebody else remembers? So I don’t think it points to him as town at all.

Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Night 3]

My evals of people in the thread as requested by SVS:

Dom - I thought Dom was faking townie play for a while but it might just be that I don’t share his style. I do think SVS has a point re: emotion in this particular case so I lean town here.

Epignosis - I’ve felt Epi was town in every game I’ve played with him almost and I feel he is here too

Jackofhearts2005 - I like Jack personally but I kinda want him to die, there are bits and pieces in my ISO that illustrate what pings me, along with a general yucky feeling in my tummy

Nanook - if anyone is a candidate for so-town-they’re-scum it’s him but I don’t have any other argument than that, so nah

sprityo - I guess I could see this, based on the case TH has made most recently.

tedxtr - strongly felt this guy was town for a while

Turnip Head - I haven’t personally seen it, feels like town Turbup to me, but if I review anyone’s ISO they’re first in line to try and see what y’all are getting at.

So yeah I don’t really have anybody I strongly suspect in this pool other than Jack and I don’t see that happening. Tbh I’ll be surprised if I don’t get lynched today, I hard defended Mac and got fooled, so I get it if that’s what it comes to.

What the hell is this?
"Turnip Head" = Turbup Head

"I haven't personally seen it" = I don't get the suspicion that other people in the game carry of them. By and large, Turbup's play seems to be townie Turbup, to me.

Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Night 0]

Barely-an-ISO ISO (there's only 4 pages there and most posts are one liners so I invite you to also check it out)

The overarching difficulty with evaluating TH is that, according to them, they say less than they think. I would characterize this as in line with their town play as much as scum. TH is a hard player to nail down meta-wise so I largely won't be doing that.

Master Radishes wrote: Tue Feb 25, 2020 2:10 am Actually, all your words are washing over me. I'm taking nothing in.

One time on my home forum I spent the entire first round just gif-posting a handful of times and not engaging in the game at all because I was busy. I got myself mislynched D1. But before I went, I made a final serious post in which I named the entire scum team.

Sometimes looking at something from the corner of your eye allows you to see more. /deep thoughts
Scum tbqh
For example, this doesn't do much for me either way, it's literally just two words and then an ensuing vote later on. The Radishes suspicion carries on all the way through the first page and while he is not their top suspect (that was apparently Michelle) it's not hastily thrown out or anything like that. In fact, TH is pretty steadily banging the drum against Radishes in a way that doesn't seem like teammate distancing to me.

On the flip side, sabie:
Turnip Head wrote: Sat Feb 29, 2020 12:46 pm The things you point out about sabie are the same things that make me lean town on her lol. She seems, idk, off the cuff
This is far from the first post defending her, and it's the polar opposite of the treatment for MR. That's certainly possible, but consider this: if you had to guess which player (Master Radishes or sabie) would be more likely to be lynched in any given Mafia game, who would you pick? I think most of us would pick sabie, and that's not meant in any negative way; she just has a playstyle, maybe similar to my own, that draws a lot of heat. So I'm not sure why scum-TH would make the calculation that MR is better to bus than sabie if they are all on the same team. If this doesn't make sense then let me know and I'll try to clarify.

Because there are two scum teams
Mac is town, this quote is exhibit A
Hard defense of Mac, one which continues further down the thread. I also hard defended Mac so I can't hold it against them.

Throughout TH's ISO I find myself agreeing with them more often than not, and I don't have anything that I can say is especially scummy.

If there's a case that's been made against TH, I read it and forgot about it, so please refer me to it and I'll check it out as well. On my own reading, I slot them as not on Radishes' and sabie's team and I have no reason to think they're on Mac's from their own posts.

You wanna make sure nobody feels like you’re a hypocrite or you wanna catch wolves? Cause I bet if we don’t find fault in anyone defending Mac just because at least one townie did so, we’re gonna have a hard time finding his partners.

What exactly are you agreeing with in TH’s iso? Like you said, he’s defended wolves would much explanation.
What are you talking about?

I don’t think defending Mac makes you scummy. I agreed with them on that, as well as on Radishes and a few other stray assessments I don’t remember right now.

What part of this is confusing?

Epignosis wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2020 10:42 pm If you have the opportunity, pick two or three of those "Would lynch" people and talk about reasons. I think the biggest issue I have with you is that you don't elaborate.
That’s fair. I can do them all.

G-Man: I have no reason I can recall to assign civ credit to him so he’s there somewhat by default. I can easily see him being a low-posting scum letting others get their hands dirty

Jack: in general I have struggled to read Jack in every game I’ve played with him, but part of that is because he is really good (in my opinion) at having a consistent meta throughout. He reminds me in an eerie way of previous games where he fooled me; I realize as I type this that I’m describing a gut read.

Jay: Jay has seemed pretty off from what I’m used to and it very well could be “new Jay” but Dom had some posts in the last lynch that basically summarized the suspicion and I agree with them

Michelle: kinda reminds me of the pings I’ve gotten before from sabie, just struggling to relate to her in a way that makes me think “are we playing the same [town] game here?”

speedchuck: I know this guy has a baby but he’s also doing the G-Man thing. I can’t remember a single post of his where I’ve thought yeah this dude is town

Tony: in the posts you quote earlier there’s the bit about off-wagoning, that’s more or less the initial basis and then nothing else since then has made me think he’s town

Tranq: even quieter than G-Man! can’t trust that

I would encourage you to not lynch me because the numbers are diminishing for town but it seems like a combination of low activity from most players + lowest posters already casting votes makes it look inevitable. (And since the votes are overwhelmingly against TH in the PMs I probably won’t cast a vote there either.)

If there’s any way I could be of use before then, I’ll check back in — otherwise, you have my named suspects, do with em what you will.
