Sometimes I imagine numbers with colors but that's not a thing that happens often so maybe everybody has some acess to synesthesia and you guys just do it all the time.

No.
I feel like 1/3 of the players have done nothing but explain real life issues since tribes merged.
Like, I sympathize with your real life issues, but I also need to play the game.

Also PoE is strong and other than Sig and maybe Bob I dont suspect anyone.
Then again if those two are bad we could win the game by lynching them at this point.

Blooper
Boomslang
Kylemii
Sloonei
Daisy
Lorab
Sig
Either have low activity or keep claiming real life reasons for low activity.
Out of those Daisy I read as civ, Sig is bad and Sloonei actually contributed a lot despite his own claim that he's busy. I'm slightly suspicious of him. The rest are blanks.
Maybe add second life sprityo too.

I would lynch someone for that at the endgame.Kylemii wrote: ↑Sat Mar 31, 2018 2:22 am I have no idea why "evening the playing field" would be a reason to lynch Sloonei.
like I get the idea is "sloonei's never died once and many others have died once or twice, let's string him up so we're all on the same level so it's fair or something" but that makes no sense from the mindset that we're working together towards a common goal
Sig's statement on Sloonei irks me for that reason, because balance shouldn't factor in to anything at all. if Sloonei is a bad then yes he should be lynched for that and stripped of his first and second lives but if he's civ, then him having two lives is an important asset.
viewing things in terms of balance gives off an aura of like..... almost an indie perspective?
At the endgame.
Right now it does very little but deflect the lynch from whoever you want it deflected from.

I really hate this INH lynch tho. I liked his reaction to that wagon on him a few days ago (actually I hated it, but I thought it was civ).
Also 2/3 people voting for him are doing it out of night kill analysis. That is disgusting. Take that away from me.
Been feeling decently about Scotty all game but never much. Might vote for him to save INH. Otherwise... eh.

Basically a role that has no direct effect but can try to get itself confirmed by claiming.
Not really useful in a game like this though.
I've played a setup where every civ was a fruit vendor tho. Maybe could try to host a Burglary for it.

I'm also bothered that Sloonei spent more posts explaining his low activity in this game than every other player combined.Scotty wrote: ↑Sun Apr 01, 2018 4:11 pm I’ve bee heaistsnt to call Sloonei bad with a straight face because I have been with him throughout the rollercoaster. I’ve felt burned out around day 5-6 and I’ve had similar reads.
But the big thing that irks me about his play in general? Is he’s very quick to civ read someone, and is much more willing to be eased into reading someone as bad. Marmot was one thing. Then there’s everyone else. He’s definitely felt non commital the last week- he’s explained this for personal reasons, and yet he’s still active in the thread enough to respond to things and give opinions. It’s just that those opinions feel...I dunno...beige?
I’m not actively painting him in a bad light, and still view him as civ, but it’s not a very bright civ star at this juncture
And his activity wasn't even that bad.
One theory could be that he cares a whole lot about his image than he should, because hes bad.

Re: Game of Champions 2017 - Day 13
Definition for bastard role is super broad, but it generally enconpasses roles that lie to players, force them to play in ways that feel wrong, or are generally unfair to play against. Id call SVS's and Bob's first roles bastard, as well as those roles from Nutella and LC that make people appear as wrong alignments.

Any role that you don't expect to see in a "balanced" and "competitive"l game, and it's common etiquette for hosts to at least let players know there will be bastard mechanics in the game.

But to "incite discussion"? No. Inciting discussion is unreliable. It's definitely not worth making town get an extra shot at lynching. Mafia needs to kill often or it will lose the game, regardlessly of discussion.

Based on what I have seen so far, my opinion on this game is that it's imbalanced in town's favor, and the main reason for that is that mafia's number of available night kills is very low.
Not killing people on purpose? That's suicidal. A mafia team that does that will get POE'd into oblivion.

Re: Game of Champions 2017 - Day 13
I think I'll just cite 5 good mafia roles I wrote.
In no particular order:
1- Shelly de Killer - Ace Attorney Mafia - Indie
I said no particular order but this one is probably my favorite. It's a whole game in one role. It's meant to replace the game's vigilantes (there were none) and possibly give extra kills to the mafia. In a pinch, it can turn into a generic serial killer.
The player who got it played pretty well, but unfortunately, the role was a failure because it was only hired once. I thought people would sacrifice their votes to kill players directly, but in a rare show of civ responsibility, they didn't. Not even the mafia. Rule of thumb: players will always look for cheap ways to play without scumhunting, unless you want them to do that, in which case they will suddenly become responsible.
2- Dahlia Hawthorne - Ace Attorney Mafia - Serial Killer
I don't like this role as much as De Killer, but it's worth mentioning because it's my first ever serial killer role to win a game. The player (Wad) managed to avoid his own history of being a night action magnet, to stay hidden for about 8 day phases, and when they noticed he was a threat, it was too late, and Dahlia's seduction ability had almost all of the players under control. He still came close to being caught and won by a hair.
The post restriction ability is a a site meta thing. There is another role named Dahlia from a bastard Pokemon game hosted years ago that automatically killed players who posted images. I made her a homage to the role, giving it a weaker version of the ability that only boosted her normal kill instead of giving her extra kills. It still scared the shit of of players, though;
3- Judge Judy - Favorites V - Mafia Godfather
This is the most prolific killer role I've ever created, hands down. Truth Machine alone killed about half a dozen players. The trial mechanic proved to be an extremely good anti-indie engine, wiping out two cults and another indie (it would later be expanded into the Ace Attorney game, probably my best mafia game to date). Together with the faction mechanic (that gave all the team kill power boosts whenever they caught a target lieing) it raised hell. It probably raised hell too hard though, because it prompted the other 2 mafia teams to forget about town and focus on antagonizing it, which ended up giving town the win in the end, thanks to the role below.
4- The Most Interesting Man in the World - Favorites V - Town
Funny little role. Most abilities are situational so it isn't as powerful as it first looks like. The last ability defined the game though. After a very unremarkable game, its player (Alwaysmind) decided to target a player with it at the same time Judge Judy was targetting the same player with a faction lynch redirector. The ability then counter-redirects the lynch into Judge Judy herself, making town win a game of Favorites for the first time in 5 years.
As you may have noticed, this was far from my (and Soneji)'s most balanced game, but holy shit if it wasn't one of the most memorable.
5- Fujitora - One Piece - Indie
Another role that didn't live up to its full potential, but it came close. The concept is of a serial killer with a specific target list (namely the 3 strongest civ roles and the strongest mafioso) who spends the game just trying to find them, and when he does, takes them all out and wins. When the player had just found the last one, the mafia sends a strongman kill on him in the night. Oh well.

Spoiler: show
Another role that didn't live up to its full potential, but it came close. The concept is of a serial killer with a specific target list (namely the 3 strongest civ roles and the strongest mafioso) who spends the game just trying to find them, and when he does, takes them all out and wins. When the player had just found the last one, the mafia sends a strongman kill on him in the night. Oh well.

[VOTE:
lorab] aubergine
I like Epi's case on her, I don't like the Scotty lynch, and as much as I'm suspicious of Sloonei I'm also wary of lynching another civ leader after the Chuck fiasco (and the Sig one, to a lesser extent). I'm okay with taking down a low poster instead.
Though is you guys wanna start a Bob wagon I'm interested too.

Re: Game of Champions 2017 - Day 13
The first thing you need to understand about me in this game is that I'm not fully involved in it, hasn't been since the start and probably will not be until the end. Something about the tribe system and the lives system and playing other games made this one feel like a chore. Sometimes I have moments where I suspéct someone and make my traditional loose moves, but most of the time I'm just forcing myself to catch up and vote.Spacedaisy wrote: ↑Tue Apr 03, 2018 4:57 pmYeah, there are just too many people I feel could get pinned for possibly orchestrating an attempted lynch of sig over LC, I don't feel like it's strong enough evidence and when I read your ISO that was the impression I had of what you were saying. I can't dismiss you entirely as a suspect but I have no desire to vote you anytime soon unless something changes my mind.Dragon D. Sorry my friend. It definitely isn't personal. But you were bad, and you defended a baddie teammate, and the burden of fooling us was with you. The game will keep going whether you are active or not.

By defending I mean, accused in a way that didn't convince us it was legit.
Anyway, it is what it is.

Scotty is like Sig except he is better at stopping people from mislynching him.
People always try though.
