Re: Banjo-Kazooie Mafia

Rhyming in English? I'm not sure if I even know how to rhyme in Portuguese!

Als, here is a great song from this game:

Russtifinko wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2020 9:08 pm At risk of sounding overly simplistic, role claiming and infodumping are allowed, and "the mafia have been given safe character claims drawn at random from a larger pool of possible civilian characters." So come Day 1, should we all just say our roles, then vote to lynch from among the roles that people double-claim?

Also, hard aree with sig on this: "Also fuck rhyming the whole reason i signed up for this game is since I don't wanna post why should I rhyme and be forced to post more."
Depends on how loyal to the flavor this game is.

If it is very loyal, the mafia will consist of Grunty, Klungo and maybe 1 or 2 bosses. Or maybe Grunty's talking spellbook and talking cauldron (though admitelly those two are also very likely town).

Town is going to have Banko, Kazooie, Mumbo, Bottles and some random NPCs.

The setup doesn't HAVE to be loyal to flavor tho. We could have a crazy twist where Kazooie is evil or something.

If it is loyal to flavor though, we may get away at confirming some players for having obvious heroic roles.

Re: Banjo-Kazooie Mafia [DAY 1]

My name is Dragon D. Luffy, and at this game I'm not half bad
The name is a pun, by a One Piece fan
Monkey D. Luffy is the main character, Dragon is his dad
When I first made that name it sounded like a more clever plan

At every forum I'd join during my internet way
I'd make a nickname with dragon on it
Teenagers love dragons, what can I say
But you can call me DDL, if that's what you see fit

I'm not good at rhymes, so yeah I'm looking for them online
But five extra posts can be a lot, I can't really ignore
So I'll get over this, finish this chore
And put the rhyming thing on the sideline

I said it's a chore, but this was actually kind of fun
I guess I'm fine with, once a day, doing this run
Now let's get begin the scumhunting
For ya, DDL is coming

Epi's case on dunya is weird af but it could be the normal epi thing.

Russ feels very honest too.

Everyone else is whatever.

No idea who to vote for. I'm tempted to park my vote on this juicy TH wagon that seems to be starting to form. I miss super happy and casual TH (though he did make some posts like that in D0). Mac could be onto something that triggered TH is bad.

...is strange coming from a guy who insists on practicing strange and quirky gimmicks all the time (his posts all start with a P, this time, by the way).

It's doubtful to me that someone of G-Man's quirky caliber would characterize posting in rhymes as something bad or inscrutable. We understand song lyrics just fine (well, most. We have Yes and Led Zeppelin...)

I would lynch G-Man today.
Peculiar? Yes. Hypocritical? Perhaps. In this game, there is a limit to how beneficial the rhymes are. You can fit them in here and there between prose as well. Once the benefit is over, sticking with the rhymes just impairs communication. I think it’s his apparent stubbornness to abstain from prose more so than the use of rhyme. My play experience with him is quite limited. If he’s quirky like me, then it might make sense. I lack that context. I’m voting for Nanook now so I have a vote on the board as I start ISOing the people I have little to no read on.
Damn G-Man don't make me defend nanook. I don't want to defend Nanook.

But yeah, you of all people being annoyed about imparting communication is well... ironic.

And yeah dude is quirky af. Though I'm yet to play with town him so I'm just assuming I don't know his meta.

nutella feels a little disconnected from the game, like she's saying a lot but not participating much. That said she probably ranks high in the list of people I've mislynched the most, so I'll tread carefully here.

Epi is actually mindmelding with me a lot which is rare. His big read post in D1 was very agreeable. He said some weird shit but coming from him it's okay.

G-Man's lists also make kind of sense and is giving me an okay feel. Light green.

Russ feels honest af.

Sig is being a jerk but that actually makes it less likely he is bad. I'm not sure if baddie Sig would do that kind of gratuitous bullying on MP for in-game reasons. Basically what speed said about him.

dunya and russ are my biggest two reads so I guess it makes sense I didn't elaborate much, just feeling a lot of honesty and understanding their thought proccesses.

Epi had some moments where he called people bad for bizarre reasons, such as when he said you should enjoy counting since you are an accountant. Or that exchange when he calls Sig bad for having apparently contradicting thoughts but then backs down when Sig replies with the obvious explanation (like, Epi should have thought it himself to begin with).

That's the Epi thing, though, at this point I've learned not to read him bad every time he says something I heavily disagree with.

Re: Banjo-Kazooie Mafia [Day 2]

Hello again, it's me, Dragon
I'm gonna list the players so we can build a wagon
Someone just slayed our friend Epi
Poor dude didn't deserve to be killed for free

I also wish we could still listen to MacDougall
Who, unfortunatelly, is also dead
He had some interesting things to say about Turnip Head
Which we can't just find by using Google

You will find there are a lot of places to look
If you sit down and just take your time
We could lynch, for example, TonyStarkPrime
Or try to figure out what the deal is with Nanook

Also, what exactly is going on with Sig
And his strange beef with our friend, The Sock
I suppose reading the later can be a challenge that is big
Since here he can't just make posts all around the clock

But maybe you want to lynch a gal, instead of a fella
In which case I recommend you look at nutella
Or perhaps, you can suspect the other girl, dunya
Who, apparently, only rhymes with petunia

Just make sure you pick a wagon, don't be a sitting duck
You may find that out to be a bad plan
You could end up in the bottom of the list of G-Man
Or find yourself being questioned by Speedchuck

What about we instead lynch Russtifinko
But maybe you'd say that is a load of baloney
Instead, we could try to read our buddy Sloonei
This game is getting hard, I think I'll just go play bingo

but that someone can't be me
if no one wants to, that's no biggie
it poses no benefit I can see
I'm curious enough to explore this avenue

DDL - 1
dunya - 0
G-Man - 1
MP7 - 0
Nanook - 2
nutella - 1
Russtifinko - 0
Sig - 1
Sloonei - ???
Speed - 0
Tony - 1
Turnip - ???

Sloonei has a 22 post cap. And he actually made the rhymes yesterday, so it should be 30.

TH has a 26 post cap. He also made the rhymes, so it should also be 30.

Are there any mistakes with counting, [mention]JaggedJimmyJay[/mention] ?

G-Man only made 18 lines of rhyme yesterday, so I dunno if he was actually given a jiggy for it or through other means.

Sig did not rhyme Day 1, but got a jiggy by some other means.

Nanook did rhyme Day 1, and got a second jig somewhere else.

The rest checks out.

Re: Banjo-Kazooie Mafia [Day 2]

Sorry about the public question Jay. I actually checked the rules to see if there was any mention of that but didn't saw any, so I figured I might as well do it.

Ok, updating

DDL - 1
dunya - 0
G-Man - 1
MP7 - 0
Nanook - 2
nutella - 1
Russtifinko - 0
Sig - 1
Sloonei - 1
Speed - 0
Tony - 1
Turnip - 1

No rhyme but got jiggies: Sig (1), Nanook (1)

He is obviously implying he used an investigation on Sig that gave him a guilty result.

Also explains where he got the extra jiggy from. I assume he only gets the jiggy if he hits a mafioso, or something like that.

Re: Banjo-Kazooie Mafia [Day 2]

Seems like his role doesn't exactly give out alignment results, but it gives jiggies depending on certain parameters and the fact nanook got a jiggy makes him think Sig is bad. Maybe he is awarded a jiggy if he targets someone who used a kill ability, for example.

And nanook is not allowed to elaborate because we are not allowed to explain how we are getting our extra jiggies. We just know he got an extra jiggy in a way that makes Sig likely to be bad, but the exact connection is unclear.

Turnip Head wrote: Mon May 04, 2020 10:44 am You're making a loooot of assumptions about how nanook's role works, Luffy. Why are you doing that?
I'm doing that because I want to figure the game out.

We know nanook got an extra jiggy this night. His cap today is 35. Count his posts if you disagree.

We know jiggies are related to abilities. Whatever it is that nanook did last night awarded him a jiggy.

It makes sense for nanook to have targeted Sig with whatever ability he has after he was the last wagon.

And nanook got a jiggy for targetting Sig. Exactly why that happened is a mystery because Nanook is not allowed to reveal how he gets jiggies, but apparently it's something that makes it likely, but not outright confirms, that Sig is bad. Something like a tracker or an ability cop.

Just use logic, it's not too hard.

It's in the game's rules. You are not allowed to reveal how you get jiggies.

We know nanook got a jiggy in the night and he's claiming something happened in the night that that made him believe Sig is bad, those two are obviously connected.

no way you have no reservations about me in a game where we are t/t lmao. you and nutella bad?

i'm surprised you didn't include a sloonei blurb there when he's been a big vocal point for most of us. you started by saying his tone was mean and scum reading him for it. do you feel bad about it? feels like real guilt there. :p

i need nanook to clarify what he means about red checking sig. why is he asking him to roleclaim? i have a moral dilemma in believing sig would have pushed mp that far if he was mafia and mp wasn't. i think it went beyond what is acceptable in a mafia game. color me naive, but that's where i stand.
I don't HAVE to suspect you in a game every time.

I also agree Sig doing what he did to MP while mafia crosses the line but I think he already crossed the line anyway so I'm just taking the fact Sig is a jerk for granted and rolling with it.

I dunno how to read Sloonei. My case on him was weak af, based on some early feel of sarcasm I'm not really getting anymore. I also agree with everyone and their dog he is off-meta, but not sure if that's AI.

Re: Banjo-Kazooie Mafia [Day 2]

If nanook can fool me 3 consecutive games I'll probably cry irl, but I guess an investigation result can overcome even my biggest instincts of not wanting to look like an idiot.

That said, I do think naook's claim isn't the most airtight. Even if I'm right about him not being able to reveal because of the jiggy rule, it's still not a very solid looking case, because we don't know the details and nanook himself admitted he isn't 100% sure.

But the fact Sig digging his own grave by refusing to claim doesn't help and makes me want to keep my vote there.

Re: Banjo-Kazooie Mafia [Day 2]

I don't remember which game it was, but I think there was an instance where town Sig lost a game on purpose to make a point about being against claiming. Or maybe it was someone else (this happens a lot in the other forum I play in). Correct me if I'm wrong.

If this is true it makes me paranoid, though. There is a good chance nanook is telling the truth but his info isn't really conclusive, and Sig is gonna self destruct to make a point anyway.

I wanted to save most of my posts for the second day.

But second day is here so better start using them!

I'm getting second thoughts about this Sig lynch. It is logical, but gut says it's too easy and there is a good chance Sig has the perfect explanation against it but refuses to claim and dooms himself. Also aside from nanook's ping, I really do think he looks more civ than bad.

I made a point about him having already crossed the line but chances Sig was just feeling he was right on the whole MP debacle and faking that is a level of scumminess I'm not sure he'd go to. Honestly, I was also pretty bothered by that whole thing on MP's behalf. I tend to get emotional when I think someone else is being bullied.

I wanna sheep on Sloon's G-Man case. Wasn't suspecting G-Man that much but he wasn't a strong green either. Sloon makes good points. G-Man is saying a lot without commiting to anything.

Eh it's a mafia classic, if there is a cop result the activity grinds down to halt, regardless of how much people say we should be pursuing other suspects.

People don't want to work more than they see necessary.

I wish I could help more but I've actually made my points both against and for Sig and decided I'm more confortable not lynching him. Though maybe I could change back if better arguments appear or a bad wagon grows. Dunno. I think I'll just stick around burning posts and watching the thread.

What is fabricated about it?
Does his tone seem fake?
Or are his arguments shit?
Explain this false-Turnip take.
Like, he seems to be using a tone that is trying to implicate people for being wrong about him.

The way he went about it is sus as fuck and you're just rolling with it and coming up with explanations FOR him.

I'm going to start saving my posts now but I'm a little surprised how easily you're treating a theory as a fact.

If Nanook wants us to take him seriously he should answer some of this for himself, and stop letting his pet dragon do the PR.
The focus doesn't seem to be on what he thinks about Sig but whether I am making assumptions, or following Nanook without questioning. It's like he's setting me up to be lynched if/after Sig flips town (and if he's bad, he knows Sig will flip town).

And let’s be real here, if he flips town that refused to claim and also didn’t play....that’s not a loss I’m sad about, ngl
I mean all of those are right but at the end of the day we still gotta lynch mafia.

And if we have reasons to think your peek is not reliable (you say it isn't) and that Sig looks more like a person who got angry and blasted out of the door than a mafioso caught without a counterclaim... that is worth considering.

Leaving a town Sig who may not come back around is still better than lynching a town Sig.
