the other possibilities are that the mafia has some sort of info-fuck ability like a seemer or w/e. Maybe rising star pointer looks like a civ when checked or something? Or maybe a different one of their background roles can fuck with info-gets.

Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 7]
Yesterday's lynch was beautifully orchestrated. I am sorry DDL is gone, but it is not an altogether bad thing that he is, since I, and others, might have beat him senseless and lynched him today.

The recruiter, assuming that is neither Quin nor lapluie, picked Quin and lapluie.
Marinate on that.

Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 7]
My biggest suspect is sig.
He has done nothing to help the civilians.
Anybody he has killed has been good.
His best evidence against rundontwalk was that rundontwalk "doesn't sound like a civilian" even though that's a horseshit rationale sig should be all too familiar with.
He is coasting.
Nobody is talking about him.

Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 7]
Assuming that's true, neither nutella nor sig could have killed DDL.
Rediections, blocks, etc etc.
I am not interested in trusting shit you say or things anyone else says about their Night actions. They aren't reliable and people can lie about them.
Are you lying about yours?

Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 7]
I forgot I can't access most of this thread from here. A pity.
I already looked at Quin + rundontwalk. lapluie mentioned rundontwalk about a half a dozen times, called him good, said she would take his word for it on Iron_Dwarf, but I can't see what rundontwalk had said about Iron_Dwarf in this context. I don't see myself voting for rundontwalk today on the basis of these exchanges.

Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 7]
Not that two bits of data constitutes a trend, but Quin had three mentions and lapluie had 2.3. People who are in that range are gwilikers (3), nutella (2.3), Cbob (2), and Kylemii (2).

I think it's ridiculous to wait until endgame to talk about him. Does anyone/everyone think he's still scum, and are just waiting for a magic nightkill? Sig isn't targeting him. Mafia won't target him. And if we all agree, even if it takes two days, lynching ID is better than lynches we aren't as sure about. Meanwhile scum will keep narrowing the field as only they can.
I want replies to this. Who still suspects ID, how much, and why are we waiting?
I distinctly recall someone (DDL, I think it was) saying that lynching Iron_Dwarf would be the opposite of lynching mafia.
If anyone could find the quote (whether or not it came from DDL), I would appreciate you helping me know I'm not a crazy person.

And that's it for Day 7.
nutella is coasting and not engaging. We've established that Quin / lapluie / (nutella?) are bussers.
None of this is good.

Day 1 may well have been a mafia-mafia lynch that I prevented. I'm still not sorry for that.

dunya and speedchuck both played wonderfully and they deserve a great deal of praise. dunya especially blew up this thread in a way I have never seen before, and it was probably the single best cycle of mafioso play I have observed as a player to this point. Awesome work, and from a player who has loneliness-and-cheesed in the past. Perhaps my theory in some capacity inspired the effort.![]()
My thesis was never that this is impossible though. It was that it hardly ever happens.
It still hardly ever happens. I am unlikely to overhaul my perspective of the game of Mafia as a result of an outlier. I am already annoyed in advance at the tinfoil mislynches which will follow from this performance in future games. They're coming.
dunya is a very rare exception to a very reliable rule. And for that, she kicked my ass in this Mafia game. I tip the cap.
The replacement was never necessary though.
