healing and staves are magic but I don't entirely know if they apply as such as far as the wyvern goes, but I assumed that's what sig is talking about since his only other neighbors are a thief and a cavalier. both of epi's promotes can use tomes.

Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 2]
Mage-bud, the armies on the front page likely don't directly correspond to place of birth. we don't really know what they mean yet, and lynching a vigilante or pseudo cop isn't the best way to find out. Not to mention the fact that lynching either of them wouldn't even reveal their nationality anyways. It's not a good plan.Kenway wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2018 5:08 amAs I've already mentioned, one of the role cards explicitly states that all scum are from Badguyia.colonialbob wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2018 1:33 amWait are you advocating the position that on D1 the mod publicly outed two mafia members and 3 townies?Kenway wrote: ↑Thu Feb 15, 2018 8:37 pm Hello, I was here yesterday but the thread got locked.
I still think we should test the public list out, namely lynch sig or lapluie and see if they flip scum.
If sig is scum they have two kills a night, I think it's wise for him to not use it now, he can get trigger-happy later and claim so and so is scummy.

Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 2]
but you didn't target the mage, you targeted the sage. why target me and not kenway?Long Con wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2018 12:20 pmYes! I had to randomly misdirect someone last night, and I specifically looked through the roles to see which would do the least harm. I certainly avoided trackers, protectors... I seem to recall that most roles left a bad taste in my mouth to redirect randomly. Then I got to Mage: "Fire - Each night, you may target another player and reverse their action. A nightkill will become a doctor, a guide will become a block, a track will become a reverse track, etc." And I figured the random, chaotic nature of that power meant that randomizing it wouldn't be as disruptive as many others.dunya wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2018 8:29 amI'm curious: knowing I'm an ID cop, why did you misdirect me? I especifically asked Jack what yould happen if I misdirected you and he told me you would never notice. You'd just get wrong results.

I don't trust long con...
his posts seem really almost performative. i don't know how to put it into words. it's like he's trying too hard, he's emoting instead of actually feeling, and his pegasister pride preventing him from suspecting other pegasus riders doesn't make sense to me, since if even one pegasus rider is mafia it's impossible for the triangle attack to actually be used to kill mafia.

Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 1]
It's posts like this..... Just like.... So much effort to emphasize that he is a pegasus knight and his role is important and that he should get a protection used on him because of how important he is. It's just so insistent that it feels fake.Long Con wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2018 2:06 amI'm a tracker, and I am Civ, and I intend to bring good results to the thread which will catch baddies. I'm hoping one of our docs out there will appreciate that and think of me. All Pegasus Knights, and the Shaman, need protection.
And yeah, by the way, Marmot, what the hell? Some of us info types are hoping that protection will allow us to contribute a few free baddies to the noose... we don't need some showboater getting everyone to target him! Is that your big idea? Draw all the protections so you can kill who you like?
Anyway, that's a tangent. Mac, if I had found out about a BTSC baddie team before the draft, I would have been in there as soon as a chat link was PMed. Then I would have been less clueless at the draft. There wouldn't have been a post saying "Did Long Con just log off without choosing the next player?" or whatever.
I'm a Pegasus Knight, and we are not a role you just go ahead and lynch. We will produce. We will police this thread and come together to slay any infidel who dares to be Mafia. Don't lynch me, and leave my sisters alone too.
Long Con wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 12:39 pm Hi, I'm ten pages behind right now, and I don't know if I'll be reading them or not. I don't want my Pegasister to be lynched... as of ten pages ago, I felt like she was being railroaded by a few aggressive, high-posting players, and I am not that surprised to see the tally in the state that it's currently in for her.
And then he has this whole thing where he doesn't want to lynch Nutella or rabbit because of their relationship to his role, culminating in his quin vote to save Nutella, I think his day one actions show a disproportionate amount of effort being put into saving his pegasiblings compared to the amount of effort he put into steering the day one towards a scum lynch
this is actually the first time long con says anything regarding nutella's actual alignment, instead of her role as a pegasus rider, and it's way after the actual lynch took place. He says he town reads her, and gives an after-the-fact half-hearted reason for why he voted for Quin, which is not representative of any of his previous postsLong Con wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2018 1:53 am Oh you meant my vote, not some night power thing... I voted to save my Pegasister nutella. She's town, and she's not up for lynch. I thought I was going to have to vote Epi, but then the Quin vote became the only way. PLUS several people have stated that your ISO is "full of fluff", and that doesn't sound good. What's up with that?
this was the only other post where he even mentioned Quin prior to voting for him

Roleplay isn't the issue. The issue is allowing roleplay to dictate gameplay. The issue is choosing to lynch you over nutella without actually caring or working to decide which one of you is actually more likely to be mafia.

Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 2]
I don't suspect Tony but I want to point out that this isn't necessarily true... A mafia Tony would know he has to reveal some mafia roles once in a while to keep us from knowing what's up, and would know which mafia roles would do the least damage to his team to reveal. Knowing the ring role exists doesn't realistically help us that much in solving the game as much as like.... knowing there's a mafia seemer or a mafia lynch stop or a power copier or a janitor or something like that.

that's not the point. Jay isn't an info role, so he'd be more likely to be kill targeted by successfully body guarding the right person. but then he has a 50% chance of surviving that cus he's a paladin. body guarding jay would probably bypass that 50% and make you die in his place even though he might have survived without being targeted, assuming you're a cavalier. it's unnecessary riskrundontwalk wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2018 12:14 amAFAIK bodyguards cannot bodyguard themselves?Kylemii wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2018 12:12 amWhy would you bodyguard the stronger bodyguard?rundontwalk wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2018 12:08 am That JJJ would come after me, if he's town, is especially offensive seeing as how I body guarded him last night.

I dont believe that epi is mafia. I think his character is a reference to l'arachel the princess troubador and i don't think a lynch stop would be a wildly out of place ability for her. It's possible epi is a mafia with a thematically appropriate ability by coincidence but I think it's unlikely

yeah you're right those are some other really good examples of games designed for children that are often played by adults
the point that there's no reason to ever involve feelings or put other people down in any of those activities, stands perfectly well. they're all games meant to be played for fun and enjoyment, unless you're being payed to do one of them, at which point suffering is acceptable.

I feel pretty medium about everyone whose in the lead for votes right now. Like... Not a single one of those boys gives me confidence that their lynch would result in something positive.
I don't really know what the case against cbob is
I feel like I haven't agreed with anything rundontwalk has ever said in this game but I think it's like a meta thing.
Jay's case on Dr. White felt pretty strong, his "interesting" post had a lot of half reads and statements didn't really say anything but his emotional response felt genuineish

I don't think the mafia would put stock in that? pegasus kill only happens if 3 different players using 2 separate power types with completely different uses happen to target the same player. If the pegasi are mixed alignment then the chance of that ever happening is basically 0, since mafia pegasus is gonna want to track or misdirect civ players and civ pegasi are gonna want to track misdirect scummy ones.TonyStarkPrime wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2018 1:54 amLong Con doesn’t kill Rabbit because mafia wants to at least try to get a peg knight kill early and likes that optionJaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2018 1:53 amWhy? Rwad that, understand it, and then explain to us all how this sentence makes any sense, and what logic it draws from: "If the pegasi are mixed alignment then the chance of that ever happening is basically 0, since mafia pegasus is gonna want to track or misdirect civ players and civ pegasi are gonna want to track misdirect scummy ones."
I actually did forget to account for the fact that the pegasus trio would hypothetically be able to outspeed most other roles and would be able to avoid their kill being blocked or protected against, making in thread discussion possible... If the pegasus trio could actually coordinate their targets then that would make keeping all three alive more valuable to the mafia if one of them were part of the three... I see what you're saying, it wouldn't necessarily have to be a coincidental 3-hit-combo. I don't think it clears you as much as you say it should, but I understand the argument at least.

Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 2]
you're misunderstanding. what you said is true, but if mafia replace their background powers with what their mafia background powers are. L'Arachel having a Lynch stop makes sense thematically based on her character. Epi having L'Arachel as his cover backstory and also happening to be a mafia role that has a lynch stop and being willing to spend it in the way he did, as well as having a team that wouldn't be pissed off about him using it in that way, makes much less sense.Kites wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2018 5:48 pmuhhh role/character isn’t related to alignment cos they were drafted. so that doesn’t make him look any less or more mafiaKylemii wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2018 12:40 am I dont believe that epi is mafia. Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 3]
the only players that we know of that could actually redirect your action on their own would be Nutella or long con, and they can only do it on odd nights.sig wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2018 10:51 pmWhy?
Also whatever I didn't kill collins, like I said I targeted Wilgy, no offense bro.![]()
Any number of things could've happened that would've redirected or changed targets assuming it was me. Once again you're quick to vote for me, yet not offer any good reasoning.![]()

Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 3]
the thing is..... what reason would mafia sig have for lying?
is the theory that sig is a mafia member who sent out a wyvern hit on Colin, but then when he realized that the night post would implicate him, claimed he meant to target wilgy instead?

Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 3]
there's some uncontrollable variables at play of course, but chances are whoever [mention]sprityo[/mention] targeted last night was a civ.
Unless iron dwarf targeted me night one... or sprityo was misdirected, blocked or targeted a player who Epignosis also chose to protect night 2, in which case.... nevermind.

a true sage never reveals his tricks

if everything you're saying is true, and it would be weird if it wasn't since you alluded to this way back on day 0, wilgy probably really is your brother. I'm like 95% sure actually.Kites wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2018 7:38 amtargeted sig last night, giving him a +15% chance to kill the target, so he had a 90% chance to succeed. Anyways there’s a passive effect on my powers that will cause the person I targeted to be misdirected. But the only way that could have happened is if Colin was my long lost brother and Wilgy targeted him with a harmful action, but the chances it really happened are small.
huh?I believe others other players have effects on their actions under certain conditions, like kylemii apparently does so I wouldn’t lynch sig based on this thing
