this game was a mess for me. i had no idea how to use my first role effectively and pretty much screwed myself by sending a cryptic bullshit message to Scotty early on. I needed him dead before my first role flipped and it never happened cus he was always safe. plus I fucked up by killing during the tribe switch night painting myself into a corner. I should have gone with my instincts and just done nothing

i only used my message power like 3 times. it was hard for me to ever justify trusting anyone enough to send a message to anyone telling them any thoughts on things that might have been unique somehow from what i was saying in the thread, given that i wasn't actually saying much in the thread in the first place because of time issues

The best thing you could do with that role as mafia is get people to trust you (because you can out yourself, and people would be unlikely to consider a secret message sender was bad). The problem is that, with two mafia teams, you could out yourself to a member of the other team and draw their kill, because a civilian with that role is dangerous.

If you are bad, and yours is the only team, you don't run that risk.
