Re: Inception [Subconscious Phase 4]

Hello, thread. First, I want to say that Ty4on's death was hilarious. Tragic and all, but he... just... got himself killed for a joke? I don't know. Never seen such a thing.

I see vanity is a current lynch favourite, not surprising. Just got home from work, and I'm going to a friend's house. So I'll catch y'all on the flippity-flop.

How do you feel about Vanity becoming the current lynch favorite? Do you think it's become too status quo? Like, from your perspective, what's the status quo right now? And what kinda read do you think would go COMPLETELY against the status quo right now? I want you to play devil's advocate again.
I feel like vanity becoming a lynch favourite happened pretty suddenly. I also think there's probably a good reason for that, and I support a vanity lynch. I guess it's status quo, but that phrase doesn't carry a lot of meaning for me - every lynch is its own organism with more factors than there are posts in the thread. Status quo came about for a reason.

Lynching Hyena or nutella would go against status quo the most, I think. Elephant/juliets is another factor going on that I don't really understand, but I think some people do. There's my Rebel Lynch Player Salad. Hyena, nutella, Elephant, and maybe juliets.

I don't know what I'm supposed to take away from this post. How do you...feel?
I was just answering Hyena's questions... I don't know why he asked them or what he wanted from the answers.

Here's how I feel in another rainbow list.

juliets
nutella
Hyena

Elephant
Quin
Lexi

Creature
vanity
TLib

juliets I think is town. I realize that's a departure from previous evaluations of her, but that's what I think. nutella and Hyena I have been townreading, and I'm not currently gogin against that. I did like Hyena's possible reality twist with nutella as the villain. I see he's trying to push some alternate possibilities, and that's something I may get involved in later tonight. Elephant went from being a top baddie candidate to being Mr Town, and I'm trusting the unknown reasons for now. Quin and Lexi are ??? right now. I think Creature could easily be a baddie, as could TLib. And vanity is a popular choice of course.

That's my quick take on where I'm at in the game right now. Gotta help with dinner.

No I legit didn't understand what you were saying. What does "the others should eat it up" refer to
Uh oh, urban dictionary won't be a good guide for this

Let's say it's "make believe" but in a more aggressive way
I still don't know what you're talking about. I know what eat it up means. I don't understand the context. Who are the others? What will they eat up?
Long Con, probably Elephant and Hyena too

They all say I could be scum
Ok but... like, I don't know if my actions "make sense" as scum or not. My actions are my actions. If I were scum, and I was aware of actions I could take to seem unscummy, then I would probably perform those actions.

The fact that you are acutely aware of just how unscummy your actions should be being received doesn't compute to me.

This is a tougher game than most in that the players got split up so early. Even when people come back to our thread, we're reading their Day 1 posts to judge them by. We're supposed to have several days of posts to use, and people are just like  . And the players who have been here all along have less content to be judged by, because we've been talking about the same things on the same small group of players the whole time. I think about ISOing people and stuff, and it's like, I've already DONE that man! I read that book already.

Re: Inception [Subconscious Phase 4]

I spent my time tonight painting and didn't do any ISO reading or other analysis.

I'm fine with the Elephant vote, I was fine before and I really haven't made any significant advancements in my views. Assuming there are wolves among us, the "main thread", then I believe they are within Creature, Elephant, TLib, or vanity. We kind of don't need to sort Quin and Lexi out just yet, because if they are the only baddies present, then WTF have we been doing here, right? We need to root out the baddie that has been with us since the start, because I don't believe JJJ would put us here with an all-Civilian crew. He ain't that much of a bastard.

Or are we in your "pocket zone" as townfolk you believe you trick because we don't know you so well, and you want top take out players with mutual history who can read you better?

LC what are your thoughts on the most recent talking points about vanity? Are you unwilling to join the wagon?
I'm just not enamored with lynching him any more. He really sounds like he's not that interested in the game, and I don't think it's his wolf winning tactic. Would consider lynching him out of mercy, I guess, if he really wants out... I just think TLib is more likely to be a baddie. juliets wrote: Thu Nov 07, 2019 3:56 pm Ok, I see your concern @nutella about TLib being that guy in the poe from GH's article but from my own observation and the discussion that just took place I feel stronger about vanity.

Hyena is right, we need to resolve him today because we are just pushing the food around the plate instead of taking a bite. I share the concerns about vanity seeming like he's just reading the posts that are more current in here when he comes on line instead of studying the posts he missed and trying to solve the game. I understand he isn't enjoying himself and doesn't want to try but that's just not a good enough excuse. So I am going to vote him now -

[VOTE: vanity] aubergine

Also, Hyena I think mentioned Long Con and how odd it is that when he's mentioned with another player it's the other player that gets the vote. I also find that odd.
Can you look up when Long Con has been voted, and by whom?
:noble: She's the only one who can.

Sometimes I picture what they're saying as coming from a town or scum perspective, and see which feels like a better fit. Sometimes I look and see who a person has been talking about, and who a person hasn't been talking about. Sometimes I look post-flip to see if new information reveals anything juicy in hindsight. :shrug2: I don't have a "method".

How strong are these reads and can you cliffnotes them for me again please. I kinda just want to copy your homework haha.
Very strong i will proove it with quotes since day 1.

I suspect Elephant since then. Now that Nutella says he masterminded Vanity's lynch this makes it like he is lock scum in my eyes.
I can look at this more clear because I still have day 1 feelings more close without dozen of pages of infos on top
I read that earlier and I'm not sure that's entirely accurate. Elephant was the original casemaker against vanity, but I think that was on Day 2. Was Elephant the main thrust all the way through to Day 4? Nutella came in at the beginning of Day 4 with a vanity vote in her very first post, and then juliets followed suit very quickly. nutella Why is Elephant the mastermind, that's a strong word.

Soonish. I'll give you my catchup hot takes, still reading up. Epignosis - Evenstar took a turn when Epi decided she's not scum but is actually town, for the Four Reasons. I was seeing Ep as the Civ side of things there, but this turnaround could be a calculated pocketing ploy. LLD and Eva voting nutella is not that cool, nutella has looked very town over the days, and the timing of Eva's vote wasn't the best. 112 maybe sketchy. Michelle maybe sketchy.

It's been discussed a fair amount. My personal theory is that Texas was the mason partner, and the mafia learned that from the janitored kill and used it to their advantage. Epi thinks that's far-fetched. :shrug2:
I just don't see how that's mechanically cleared even before the janitor theory came out. I did know about that idea, that Eva subtly claimed to be spinyboo's partner. And she's also the vig, although that one's pretty out there. Thanks for connecting that dot.

nutella wrote: Sat Nov 09, 2019 7:17 pm I would be fairly happy with an Elephant vote as well, because he instigated and perpetuated the vanity focus and I have some reason to believe he has been controlling in some other ways, potentially including pocketing juliets and taking advantage of her not only in order to make himself look good but in order to benefit the scum team in the long term.

I think TL may well be scum and would be the relatively "safe" poe shot based on GH's article; however I have townread his posts at face value, and his flip will not do much for us in solving other slots. We do need a scum flip and he may be a good bet, but I have reservations there and I think it it's probably a better choice at this point to lynch within the "F3" group and solve from there.
I agree with these thoughts.

What do we know about the F3? What happened down there? What did the host say? Was that Limbo? Epi is confident that the lynches weren't lynches, is that a legit idea? If they weren't lynches, what were they?

I know that went beyond a response to your post.

You were one of the hardest pushers of vanity, and yet you took a brief detour on d4 onto me, criticizing my multiple flip-flops on vanity. It's not too hard to see a scum motive for you trying to see if a push on me would take off to stretch us out to yet another mislynch while keeping vanity on the table. I am actively forcing myself to no longer assume you are town, so if you are, make sure it keeps shining through or my tinfoil will gain ground.
 Understood.

Also, it feels like everybody is treating Nutella's involvement with Vanity's lynch equally with mine and Elephant's. I kinda strong-armed her into voting Vanity on D4. Does that change anyone's perspective?

The lynches in other levels have been "kicks" up to higher levels. If the F3/"Limbo" was the catalyst for everyone coming back together here, perhaps that didn't happen the same way, but I think the popular speculation is that it still mattered whether town or scum was lynched. Either for some kind of "advantage" or something relating to the layers reuniting. Idk.

@Evenstar @Master Radishes @sprityo was there some kind of special wording in the host post at the beginning of the F3 phase? Or was it just a standard "players currently in this location are:" announcement?
MAYBE... the winners of the lower-level lynches got more ROLE POINTS to use! That would explain.... role points. :nicenod:
