Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 2
Good thing I don't care too much about how I look. I added on to JJJ's case on you because I saw scummy behavior. I didn't just copy it and go, "yeah, I buy it."insertnamehere wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 5:36 pmBut that's not what I did, Luna.Lunalee wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 5:29 pmHey, I've noticed scum make long but meaningless posts by providing commentary on the thread before, so when I saw a hint of that in your posts, it set off alarm bells. Not sure where the hell you got the "fluffy non-reads" from. Scumreading JJJ, Owner, and Juliets currently. Townreading Kara, because her responses to folks attacking her sound hella genuine to me. Apologies that my ""busy" excuse" just makes you more inclined to scumread me. You're certainly entitled to your own opinion.Spoiler: show
If you want to unduly dismiss everything I've said in this game and view it in the most negative possible light for no other substantive reason other than "I'm a skeptic," then, well, you can certainly choose to do that.
Let me explain: you started the "condemnation conga" by jumping on JJJ's weak case against me with vague-ass reasoning. Then, Nutella jumps on board, then off board. Y'all both don't look great.

My thoughts on Kara have been: we were scum last game together. I don't really know his meta well yet, but I did notice that he seemed to lay low and keep quiet to avoid garnering suspicion. I thought he was doing the same in this game, and just looked back at his posts again. But THIS one bothers me. I'm not sure if scum Kara would say all of that. So now I want to vote elsewhere. ugh

See my response to Timmer. I suspected Kara, but then found a post of theirs that made me want to back off. That's why I moved my vote to Bullzeye instead. As far as Bullzeye being an "easy" selection, that may be true. And if that's the case I don't want to join an opportunistic band wagon. Kylemii impressed me with his scum game last time we were all scum together. I got lynched early on, but Kylemii survived until the end with hardley any suspicions. He mostly laid low, hopped in and looked good when he needed to, and sat back and won the game. Because of this I do not feel confident in giving Kyle a town read.
As far as I can tell, Lapluie isn't playing. She posted "hello, checking in" and hasn't been back since to post or vote. I'd rather she get a replacement than us resort to lynching an inactive.

See, I'm hesitant because if Bullz is civ, and he just came in a voted Nova at EOD because he was absent, and there was no other reasons to it, then after Nova flipped scum, there's this nice opportunity to build a case against Bullz, and mafia might jump all over that.timmer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 02, 2018 3:36 pmBut you've said previously that you think there is at least some thread/game evidence to support a bullzeye lunch, so if you believe in it, why be hesitant about your vote just because it may also appear opportunistic? Why?
Day 1, Jay built a case against INH and voted for him.
Jay calls INH out for his player salad, which included Jay
There are multiple other interactions of Jay quoting INH and calling him bad.
So I don't see it.

This is a very mixed bag. I think INH's posts are barely good for her, and Luna's own posts are barely bad for her. If they're teammates then their distancing effort was thorough. It strikes me as relatively plausible.
Luna at least needs to answer for her handling of INH late in Day 2, per the last two points in this analysis.
INH's posts look very scummy now that he's confirmed bad, but late on day 2, I was still back-and-forth on my read of him. I did heavily suspect him previously (you quoted all that), but it ended with me just sort of walking away, because I wasn't sure what else to say to INH, or if he was really bad or not. It was a lack of confidence on my part, and I really should have just looked past that and went for the lynch. As far as not voting for INH late in the day, I had to leave the thread 30 min before EOD, so I went for the "safe" lynch of Soneji to make sure I didn't die.

Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 3
I have a pretty bad feeling about Glorfindel. He hasn't said anything that that makes him look like a "lock town" who is trying to find baddies. Day 1, Glorf voted for Quin bacause of his "tone." He stayed on Quin while completely ignoring the Owner vs. Turnip Head trains, which ultimately led to TH, a civilian, getting lynched.
He ignored the suggestion for everyone to post "I am town" for a truth checker to have more to work with.
He replied with this sad, emotional plea to Colin's suggestion that we ask Glorf if he's bad:
It takes until day 3 for him to throw out some reads. He town reads Jay and MacDougal, and scum-reads Long Con, Quin, JackofHearts, Nutella, and Epi The post here is quite long, and he uses a lot of " Doesn't look genuine," and "I'm not convinced language," which is okay for some, but to me it looks like he left room in almost every read for him to backpedal if needed.
Reason I'm okay with pushing a Glorf lynch is because if he is town, he won't let us lynch him without saying so. Otherwise, it's day 3, and we will have finally lynched our first scum.
He ignored the suggestion for everyone to post "I am town" for a truth checker to have more to work with.

Reason I'm okay with pushing a Glorf lynch is because if he is town, he won't let us lynch him without saying so. Otherwise, it's day 3, and we will have finally lynched our first scum.

Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 3
Claiming argument aside, what has Glorf done to convince you he's town?speedchuck wrote: ↑Mon Nov 05, 2018 1:57 pmEw no.Lunalee wrote: ↑Mon Nov 05, 2018 1:55 pm He ignored the suggestion for everyone to post "I am town" for a truth checker to have more to work with.
He replied with this sad, emotional plea to Colin's suggestion that we ask Glorf if he's bad:Reason I'm okay with pushing a Glorf lynch is because if he is town, he won't let us lynch him without saying so.Glorfindel wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 2:26 amTo be honest, this whole mess had completely slipped my mind. It’s hard for me to know what to do here - do I refuse to answer and get lynched by a rabid Town or answer it and put a target on my back Night 1? Either way, I guess it suggests a short stay for me this game...
It kinda ruins the game for Glorf to town-claim or not town-claim. It's a dick move by all accounts, and it's been encountered in several games.
We aren't pushing Glorf into claiming. Leave that out of any cases you make.

Okay, I don't like Glorf's fluffy reads, so I'm voting for him.speedchuck wrote: ↑Mon Nov 05, 2018 2:00 pmNothing really.
I don't care if you make a Glorf case. He doesn't look great. Just leave out the claiming bit.

...because I think he's town when there's currently a majority vote on him? I've looked back over Long Con's posts, and nothing he's said sticks out to me as "bad"ColinIsCool wrote: ↑Mon Nov 05, 2018 2:00 pm Town: DH, timmer, Jay, Epi, Glorf, Sloonei

You did that just to make a three-way tie, didn't you?speedchuck wrote: ↑Mon Nov 05, 2018 4:13 pm Yeah sure [VOTE: Glorf] aubergine
The only reason not to do it is because I suspect Jack some, and there's no way this is a bus.

Glorf, if you're intent on saving yourself why wouldn't you vote Colin or Long Con instead of Jack?

Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 3
Interesting, Timmer. Pulling this to the front for referenceLong Con wrote: ↑Mon Nov 05, 2018 12:44 amThe "baddies have the rez" thing wasn't on my mind, that's true. Since we're analyzing Colin's intentions here, I'd say it wasn't on Civ!his (did I do that right?) mind either. So it's debatable whether that's useful.nutella wrote: ↑Mon Nov 05, 2018 12:28 amNo, don't think so. You didn't point out the thing I did that if he's town he can't count on a rez. Your post painted much more of a bleak picture of a baddie fooling us all with a fake flip, and so I came out of your post interpreting more of an overall thesis of "don't lynch Colin he's tricking us" whereas I am saying we should just lynch him because he's bad and if he has a fake flip we'll just have to deal.Long Con wrote: ↑Mon Nov 05, 2018 12:17 amOk, thank you. That seems remarkably similar to my own post that is your top suspected post on the Page of Sin.nutella wrote: ↑Mon Nov 05, 2018 12:14 amWell he could be town wanting to get confirmed, but as Quin pointed out, why? He's barely even been suspected at all until now -- and what's more, he had just pointed out his fear that rezzes were either gone or in the wrong hands. If he's town he can't count on a rez, by his own admission. He can only rely on a rez if he's bad and knows his team has one. Whether he has some way to appear civ upon flip, or whether his team will rez him as a confirmed baddie, I can't say, but there doesn't really seem to be a town explanation.
Both our posts discussed Civ reasons for his play, and found them coming up short, and then we both looked at benefits of doing it as a baddie, with a nod to a possible Seemer aspect in his lynch. How does my post "paint a bleak picture of a baddie fooling us with a fake slip" when yours says "Whether he has some way to appear civ upon flip..." yet presumably avoids those connotations?
Anyway, be that as it may, I can't help you reading my post that way, but I don't recall having a huge "don't lynch Colin" push in that post. My post was geared more to discussing a couple of things and leaving it for Colin to take up before going further.
I have found Colin's play pretty strong so far, and I have no intention of voting him because I can create a theory about his strange request that shows him as bad. Like I said, that wasn't the purpose of my post - to vilify Colin. I want him to respond to it before I decide anything.
I don't really have any suspicion of Colin apart from it.
