I think it was this post that gave me the ole squinty eyeballs. I recall Tony making similar joke-posts early on in both Fallout and the Polka Heist, when he was bad. I took a look at the only town game I remember playing with him (Australian Murder Mystery) and he still had a few joke posts early on, but he got down to business pretty quickly. He's more on-topic after this post, but it's the "[Joke about arbitrary suspicion]" brand of post that got my attention.

This is not something that would determine my vote.

I saw you had good , well-timed questions but I am sort of reluctant to town read you fully because, other than that, I honestly don't remember anything else you've done. I just remember you being there and kind of skimming your posts. I'm wanting to see some sort of aggressive push from you or something.

Dys I had tons of mindmelds with. At first I thought the way they came in the thread saying "Watch me do nothing this game, what are you gonna do about it" kind of attitude and then giving that read on Michelle felt sort of contradictory, emotionally speaking. As in, you imply you don't give a crap, but you post a shallow read on Michelle, like you felt forced to do it. I also thought it was too early of a town read, even for Michelle, which I also have tons of meta with. Otherwise, their recent content has been good and we mindmelded ever since that initial scum lean.

TSP's a read that's like broadly applied to my mental map of how town!lurkers approach a game as opposed to scum!lurkers. There's no scum agenda behind his posting, and with scum lurkers, the usual mentality is "ah I gotta post something good to make up for my absence" and that usually turns into awkward reads on people and shit. The reason he's that low is because I didn't like his early Jay read joke thing which read as awkward and I want to look for some form of thought process that I can easily follow through and get rid of this paranoia for his slot. It's this low because it's a general approach to reading lurkers and I need some more context to be more confident in it.
Regarding myself, I’ve definitely dropped below my desired level of play. I’ve had an annoying fever the last few days and reading this thread has literally been painful. I’m about 75% better now.

Your explanation for why you town read dizzy features a lot of reasons not to town read dizzy. Why?

I appreciate your perspective on Tony.

Idk, I haven’t looked into the specifics of it. I don’t care for doing teammate analysis before anyone has flipped, so I tend not to give much weight to theories like that pre-flip. I’ve also been inclined to town read jack for most of the game. In a vacuum I can see why he’d look like a viable Radish partner, but there wasn’t much one way or the other in the analysis I just did and I’ve yet to look at it from Jack’s end. I doubt I’ll get to that tonight, and I’ll be out of pocket all day tomorrow. If I make it to Day 3 I’m sure I’ll end up diving into that pool.

Because it means that — especially for high capacity players, of which everyone in this game is one, there is no incentive to slack off as there can be in a normal mafia game. Thus, our scum will be found not in those who are unusually quiet but rather those who are unusually loud.
I’m not sure I follow.

Town: 50

Anti-Monitor-25

on average and we change it to

Town: 60
Master: 40

by focusing on one faction, but I think friendly fire works to our advantage.

I’m more interested in who is scum without Radish.
This is a good point to keep in mind, but at the same time my mindset is always to try to lynch the player who I think is most likely to flip scum, and we now have a clearer path to hunt Radishes team. But focusing exclusively on that for several days is a big advantage to the other team.

The case against Mac still stands and he is almost definitely not on Radishes' team.

Well I voted for Michelle in our pointless thread yesterday. It was a tinfoil that would not be worth a vote under normal circumstances, but which still merits suspicious. The theory had her as the anti-monitor.

After that I intend to finish looking at Mac's interactions with folks later in the phase. I should have definitive reads then. The previous phase was a big disruption in my flow. Before that happened, Colin and Tony were names that I wanted to explore in relation to Mac.

Sloonei wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2020 1:43 am This is my Michelle theory, for those who were not in our thread yesterday:

When the day began, Michelle had compiled a long chain of posts from speedchuck from this thread (the one we are all currently posting in) which she used to push a suspicion against The Chuck (and she would later walk back a fair amount of this case in a way that might have been dishonest, but that's not my main issue).

Speedchuck was one of just five people that Michelle shared that thread with. He also had apparently been singled out as a suspect by her coming into that day. This seemed either convenient or coincidental to me.

Separately, I had a theory that the events of yesterday were triggered by sig, as his role (The Architect) is derived from Inception Mafia, it contains secrets, and he was almost a sure bet to be lynched that coming day, so there would be no better time for him to trigger the hypothetical Inception event in his role card. IF this is the case (and that is an enormous if), then there are two people who would have known that the thread split was coming: sig and sig's partner. In the original Inception Mafia game (which Jay and I co-hosted), the mafia team was allowed limited control over which players submerged onto each dream level.

If sig's partner was preparing to submerge into a lower dream level, they would likely want to take a player with them who they could use as a scapegoat for suspicion, or someone who is unlikely to cast suspicion on them in particular. speedchuck could conceivably be a viable candidate for both of those things. So the theory is this: Michelle, as sig's partner/the anti-monitor, was aware that she was going to submerge into a smaller thread, and brought speedchuck with her, having pre-planned an attack against him for that day.

There are holes in this theory that I acknowledge: given that there was only one lynch yesterday (the top level/player with the most votes across all three levels) there should not have been much urgency for Michelle to need a scapegoat like this; it's also not at all impossible that Michelle suspected speedchuck and wanted to ISO him, and it was purely coincidental that they ended up in the same thread together. But the fact that Michelle had singularly prepared to launch an investigation against speedchuck yesterday (I asked her if she had compiled posts on anybody else and she said no) and then ended up in the same small group as him stood out to me as a remarkable coincidence.
this is a bad theory but I see where it’s coming from
It was a slow day.

TonyStarkPrime wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2020 1:50 am so the idea was put Speed and Michelle in Div 2 when Speed is already a popular lynch option and then hope that no one emerges from Div 1?
:shrug: At the time I didn't know what the lynch mechanics looked like. Maybe she would have wanted a player to scapegoat down there just to be on the safe side. Then again, if Michelle is the anti-monitor and has a -2 vote on her, then the chances of her getting lynched in a 6 person thread are pretty slim to begin with.
Sloonei wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2020 1:59 am I would also like to add, though, that sig being in a 3-person thread with you (tony) and Tranq strengthens my belief that he triggered the thread split. If I was sig and I wanted a chance to survive a 3-person lylo/limbo phase (which was the mission in the original game) and I had control over one of the players that I brought with me, I'd choose Tranq 10 times out of 10 (meaning no offense. He's just been the lightest contributor and would be the most likely to simply no-show).

I have the whole thing copied, but since we still have access to it it wouldn’t be moral to share. Tranq posted more than he’s posted in this thread, I think. Sig says he let a few clues out, but I think it’s kinda broad and still obviously WIFOMy. It was pretty slow. One note: Sig intend(s/ed) to stay alive. His teammate was voting for Mac. I really don’t expect everyone to read all that nonsense. The rainbow list at the end tells you what’s essential.
Sloonei, could you very honestly do a slight addendum where you analyze Sabie’s views on you?
Nope. Be my guest if you’d like to do it.

Observe the rainbow. Two of the bottom names were wrong, so it is likely flawed somewhere. But you and speedchuck remain among the oranges. Epi and Tranq were difficult to place. I would not be totally shocked if one of the light greens was also bad. I think Tony would be my first choice among them, but that's based largely on my general skepticism toward him as a player.

This is a real question.
Yesterday was the first day he was really mentioned as a serious candidate in a thread that included the entire active roster.
sure. And JJJ pushed him and voted for Colin anyways. We talked more about Speed than Colin but Colin ended up lynched.
What's the best reason you can think of to town read speedchuck?

If GMan has teammates, they’re bussing. Yet there are five votes for town Jay?

No way that’s happening. Just look at the vote count and tell me Jay can even be town here.
All it takes is one or two vocal civilians promoting a case and the wolves can start circling.
Who are the wolves on Jay’s wagon?
From most to least suspicious:
Speedchuck
Epi
Tranq
Tony
You

This isn't a new wagon. This is a backup in case G-man freezes the poll on us.

Town read on tony right now, I think.

resulting in no lynch?

Orange in Radishes review

Red in Mac review / But then up to light green in part 3

Yellow in sabie review

~~~
And Sloonei meanders to nowhere. Sloonei's read on Tony is some intermittent radio signal fuzz that on occasion clears up but is then lost again quickly thereafter. He seemed to have serious suspicions of Tony -- he called him one of the best candidates to be teamed with Mac (before reneging on that in the very next novel post), and he went nowhere at all with that suspicion. He viewed Tony as compatible with Radishes, and he did nothing with that either.
Got one. :biggrin:
Akechi might inherit the AM kill. That could be good.
Long Con was asked if a team will inherit the nights kills of the other team and he said yes. I don't remember a vague exprimation.
Actually the post itself it's better:
Long Con Black Rock
Two things
When a mafia team is eliminated, does the remaining team then kill every night, or still just every other night?
Spoiler: show
And re: the poll, Radish is on it and Colin is not.
Spoiler: show
Thanks, fixed. Tony is currently voting for Colin. :o
If a team gets eliminated, the other team kills every night.
Time for Sloonei and Mac's Iso, I think Jay's posts may be useful but I am not so sure about it.
Though I need a break, playing at night is tiresome.
I am sorry I suspected you, but until the end I noticed a thing that will help me to understand your town play better <3
Awesome game Long Con and Black Rock it adeed each day a plus to my WIM, as you can notice I was more active after the first few days.
congrats @theMasterteam i think I died because I found 3 villagers in Tony, Tranq and Juliets and even if I was wrong on Tranq I would suspect Epi the most and eventually talk about the difference in Ted's play i became aware a little too late in the night I was killed.
Speed was already cleared by Jay and because he wouldn't openly scumside with the other team that read were a correct and honest one.
@Jay had an awesome scum play and by always mislynching villagers he practically helped the Master team to win. Your long effort made me think you are villager but in direct interaction you failed to show towniness :)
It was a memorable game @everyone I am glad I was part in it thanks for the invite ^_^
