JaggedJimmyJay wrote: Sun Nov 11, 2018 3:28 am I realize you ask questions Sloonei. So do I. One has to judge a few things about each question:

1 - does the question promote a hunting strategy
2 - does the asker of the question intend to use any answer received for some clearly evident purpose
3 - is the question authentic
4 - is the question necessary

I called your question aimless because I have doubts about #2.
Does this exchange mean anything to you?

The biggest issue to me on Day 4 was Quin/Speedchuck. I wanted to figure it out because I felt, and still feel, that there's meat on that bone. In a game like this one, where I'm not as fully invested as usual, I can't always be on top of every single thing. Sometimes I'll float an idea simply in the hopes that somebody else will latch onto it. My posts reflect my thought process and the questions I've had as this game has gone along.

You keep calling it a “case”
I mean, unless we're just "red" because of quin's hair...
It means I think you’re compatible as mafia teammates. While you’re both alive it’s not really a case. It’s a part of a larger reductive effort.

Maybe they are not telling the truth about the floo story? I'm not saying I believe this but isn't it possible?
That’s what my question is getting at. If they’re partners, the story is a lie. But they chose to share it and thus linked themselves together in the thread. It seems a little too conspicuous.

Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 5

Speedchuck has vig kill written all over him. This does not bode well for Quin. It’s still possible he’s town but after the way everything happened yesterday it’s gonna take a lot to feel that way for sure.

On the subject of vig kills, timmer is still alive, which could mean a few things: he’s a Death Eater, or the Death Eaters haven’t felt the need to kill him yet, or they’re just wary of protections/misdirects. In any event, it seems that others are being prioritized over him which could suggest that the Death Eaters feel safe from him.

Conclusion

Zilch to discuss. They're compatible by default.

Quin and Sprit are the players I have the most independent suspicion of right now. This relationship turns up next to nothing. Sprit’s supposed ignorance of speed/quin is not a good look. That it’s the only real point in this entire interaction is also not a good look. I have trouble calling it a definitively bad read though.

It may not be as easy as this.
There’s certainly more to it than the bullet points. But that’s the general outline. We’ve talked about the possibilities to no end, and to me it seems the most likely scenario is that one of them was lying. We now know it wasn’t speedchuck, unless his was is faked.

This.
This "This" is Quin's first interaction with Long Con. The header tells me This comes from Day 3. The This which Quin is Thising at is a paranoia-sowing theory about fake role flips. Who even thinks like that!? Suffice to say I'm not in favor of this development. The entire first page of Quin's ISO turns up nothing when I Ctrl+f any variation of names/nicknames for either LC or INH. I'm not inclined to call that a good look.
Quin wrote: Mon Nov 05, 2018 12:19 am

I didn't get that subtle defence or whatever from LC at all. Dunno how you interpreted it that way.
Quin singles out a point on Long Con from a much more expansive post by nutella. It appears that Quin is providing skepticism of a theory against LC. The follow up does nothing. I'm not really sure what Quin is even talking about here.

After that, LC is dead and the whole claim saga between Quin and Speedchuck happens. Knowing that speed's claim was not false, I really struggle to see Quin in the same positive light as before. Even yesterday, I was only inclined to favor Quin in the argument because of outside evidence against Speedchuck, namely Poutanko's claim, which we now know to have been either incorrect or fabricated.

I don't feel like kara is bad. But if we're going to pursue their lynch today, I think an important thing to keep in mind (and I've already mentioned this) is that speedchuck confided the identity of the alleged vigilante to them. What exactly should be made of that, I don't know. Would it help to get that name out in the open? Re: Hogwarts Mafia - Day 5

But first, a point: having the cloak does not make Quin town, as far as I know.

sprit would be my next choice to lynch after him.

i feel like this game is set up so that anyone could theoretically prevent a kill on any night.
Or...survive a kill? Eeeeeh? Eeeeeeeeeeh?
survival is a form of kill-prevention, yeah.

Or we see that this game has a lot of missing pieces and want to put some of those pieces into place to help make sense of our scum hunting efforts.

I do not think that's the case, and I definitely wouldn't make that allegation early in a day like this. Nutella has voted for just about everybody so far today. I think that shows that her mind is all over the place and far from made up. I regard that as a good thing and award her a hundred townie points for it.

juliets wrote: Sun Nov 11, 2018 6:47 pm Sloonie, besides the fact that speed flipped civ and so it appears he was telling the truth, is there any other reason you think Quin did not target you with patronus?
I have no information which either confirms or deny that I was targeted with a Patronus that night. Like I said, I took a Thestral out of town that night, so I was immune from nearly all abilities that night. I have no way of knowing if anyone did anything to me that night. If Quin is lying, I suspect he may have just thought I'd be an easy fake target to claim for some reason.

I'm thinking that we should seriously consider lynching Colin today. For reasons that I'll expound upon later. Thoughts?
I don’t recall being active in the thread at the same time as Colin at any point in this game, and as such I have mo definitive read on him. I slapped a town read on him because of poutanko but that’s kind of gone out the window now. I’m interested in hearing your thoughts

Blocker and vig in the same slot could lead to more net kills and explain why 2-3 people are dying per night even when Timmer claims to be holstering it failimg. That is, that blocker never blocks that vig and every other night, that blocker doesn’t block at all.
This would mean Jay had answers during yesterday’s confusion. He didn’t strike me as someone who had answers.
