Per my post (which is long, I know), the easiest answer is that the NK was aimed at Esooa. If Esooa is scum, it means she self-targeted to make it look like someone other than her is the last scum. And if she's town, that just means it really was someone other than her.

An even more tinfoily option is that someone who's not Esooa knew that self-targeted NKs would deliver a 'failed kill attempt' result, and aimed it at themselves to make it look like the kill was on Esooa, but I can't put together why a non-Esooa player would do that.

If Michelle is scum, the answer is simple. If she's town, the following options for the last scum are simply roles that do not fear a cop:

• A godfather or some other similar PR who knows they will be green-peeked

• A second redirector who can divert all cop checks to someone else

• An x-shot tree stump who can point to a failed chop as plausible deniability for their scumhood

• None of the above, but someone who believes they can confidently talk a cop out of believing their own check in a role madness game

At this point in the game, seeing all the roles that have flipped, any of those can be possible.

That's what I'm saying. I never doubted she was a cop, especially after she red-peeked my miller card.

I'm telling you, I don't think it's outlandish that Esooa self-targeted. If she killed you, that's not an auto-win. There was still a possibility that Michelle and I could chop her today. The only way to be sure that she was in the clear would be to make it seem like she was the target.

Because you were suspicious of her the previous night.

Well, look at the way she responded to it, that Michelle pointed out. She could just say, 'So is Straw.' She could've also simply said, 'I'm unchoppable, so I don't care,' and then stopped posting. That would've been plenty of WIFOM for us. Instead she fought harder today than on many previous days, as if she had a reason to fear getting chopped.

That's my only plausible explanation. Unless someone has a hitherto unclaimed superkill-proof ability, the only explanation is that you, Michelle, or I tried to kill Esooa. I know that I didn't, and we both agree that Michelle didn't.

So we come to an impasse: I know I'm not scum, but in your POV, I'm the only other option. But to me, you're the only other option. And I don't think it's you.

Hey, sorry, was another busy day yesterday.

I actually didn't even remember that such a role was called a 'miller' until Hally used the term in response to my claim. Here's my claim post. My rolecard doesn't use the word 'miller', but uses the phrase I used in that post: 'investigates as [Guilty]'.

Everyone, thank you so much for a really fun, brain-breaking game. By D7, I was like, 'I don't care if I wind up getting my ass handed to me; this game is a lot of fun.'

@novaselinenever, great game design. I've always been fascinated by role madness, which didn't happen too terribly often in games I was in on RYM. Takes a lot of work to balance all of the mechanics, and it all worked very well.

@Hally and @Michelle, you guys did some amazing town work the past few days. It was an absolute pleasure reading your late-game posts, especially when you hit the nail on the head like this.

@BoKnows, @Justplayingitcool, and @AL_sama, y'all were a fun scum team to scum it up with, and our coordination in chat was a thrill.

@JaggedJimmyJay, @Sloonei, @MacDougall, and @Marmot, I wish I'd been able to play with you guys longer this game!

@ Everyone else, I really enjoyed playing with all of you as well; this was a really great group and everyone contributed to a lively game that I always wanted my Mafia games to be.

Also I wanted to be here actively posting by EOD, but my guitar student had to push his lesson up exactly to EOD time for me. Sorry I was low-posting the last couple days.

I know there are mixed feeling about multiball, but if only for this being my first game in years, it allowed me to have the best of both worlds: being scum while actively genuinely scumhunting. I just wish my scumdar wasn't so [censored]ing broken :sad:

We actually tried to kill Michelle the night that Odd switched her with Bo, and Bo was the one carrying out the shot. If it had been me taking the shot, woof.

There were a couple nights where we were like, 'We should kill MIchelle or Odd,' but other people felt more pressing, like Nanook. We got nervous that he'd shoot one of us. By the time Bo got chopped and I kept surviving with a red check, I thought I'd just try to redirect Michelle's checks into other people.

We decided it was higher priority to block Nanook. Iirc, Nanook was eyeing me hard and we were scared he'd shoot me.
