I wonder why I was bumped up to neutral from a scumlean earlier. I think 112 had an unrestrained entrance into the thread and his scumread on me felt like he believed it but he fell off a bit after that. I don't really like the 112 wagon though especially since MR and KZA are on it.

I’ve watched two townie players post only emojis AND catch scum D1.
I’ve never seen a scum player do it.
It’s the kind of thing that draws a lot of attention and invites reads like “this player is slanking/being unhelpful, therefore scum.” Scum don’t generally care to play like that.

I thought mafia (including the mastermind) could talk to each other from what sprityo said, just anonymously. How could mafia decide who got which role if they couldn't talk at all?tutuu wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 3:06 ami suppose u could be right. maybe i misunderstood that sentenceMade wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 3:03 amThis isn't necessarily true. okay so mafia dont even have mafia chat with each other
i guess that the obltierator/mastermind also doesnt nkow their real identities. he knows code names like
Red, Blue, Yellow, Orange
and these 4 codenamed ppl only have private chat with the mastermind, who gets to direct ppl aroudn/boss them around etc
yea, mafia kinda shafted in this setup
i suppose mafia could know some of each other's identities, depending on what did the obliterator tell them / lied about / guided them
i suppose i just cant imagine a caht with multiple ppl, all of them having codenames
like, a quick topic chat, where everyone has a code name
whats the point? eh whatevrs, it is also pretty weird for mafia to not even have communication

Re: Shadow Corridors Mafia [NIGHT 1]
A lot of people are assuming mafia know each other while analyzing wagons but we don't know that. That's part of why I think Sabie isn't a great vote, she has a null ISO and her NIK vote isn't necessarily AI. I also feel like she has decent justification for her vote on NIK. With the amount of protectives and unknown kill mechanics I don't think an RB means much of anything.

Real counterpoints: If the jailer decides whether or not to kill, we're not killing every day and the mafia are killing every night, that gives us a disadvantage. If we recommend who the jailer kills and the jailer always kills that person, that's identical to just having an elim.

Re: Shadow Corridors Mafia [DAY 1] - Encroaching Darkness
I think NIK's lack of opinions throughout the game is unusual. This was the first time he gave any takes (when he was prompted to give takes) and a lot of these takes are hedgy like the ones on Tutuu, Kza, and Mac. It feels like NIK doesn't want to commit to any positions. I dislike how a lot of the townreads leave room for NIK to suspect them later on, like with Falcon.NIK wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 2:41 amFine FFs.Stupid Sexy Flanders wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 2:22 amSo have you caught up yet? NIK, if you're town don't bitch out and sulk or some shit. Having a hard time taking my vote off you, but not a fan of a couple on your wagon.

You've gotta have something by now.
Anything
Jack. i might have missed something but his play as of when i have been paying attention isnt really all that scummy Correct me if i missed something
Tutu or whoever your tunnel target early was. She reminded me alot of me in some of my early games with her responses..i dont know her well enough but It could be caught scum or maybe she/he can get like that no matter of alliance. I find it interesting that at that time was her most active time...since then has kinda dropped off
Kza. Like i sad earlier his play isnt playfull enough yet for me. Hes playing and acting towny but he usually is alot more freeflowing...maybe hes just alot more serious in this new world
Falcon probably town but i dont trust him completely especially around new people. I also think tonight hes been too aggressive almost fakey aggressive
BK- null but hes playing weird once again new digs
Poison scum lean One of the most active early players but could only talk fluff (im a hypocrite i know) or talk tulu
McDougall null but kinda suspect keep pushing his dislike for the cdc trust and also early made a big list of his reads then mid game said how he didnt have much confidence or some shit with where the games at and his reads. When i isoed him i was suspect
Allison- after whatever it is she dropped its hard to imagine her not being town ill be impressed if shes anything but
Grand scheme town
Emoji guy- possibly dm
Thunal guy town from what i remember
SSF/LL probably town but like falcon i think you could ve capable of your best game with all these new hoes around. Liked your early play on tutu or whoever and how you went about it. Suprised you've since backed off as hard as you did....thats one thing you usually don't do.
any other players specifically you or others want an opinion on ill iso

Also I dislike how many of NIK's takes are meta based. Imo meta reads are among the easiest to fake as scum, and suspecting people NIK knows for being different when they're in a different environment can easily have an agenda behind it.

we don't see flips from night kills afaik
Also this could be very bad if one of the mafia are capable of being a jailor; the Sloonei Mafia Templar was capable of BTSC with anyone with their abilities and so could act as if they were jailor but just never executed someone or etc etc
Also the jailor could get shot at night, we no-lynch the next day without even knowing the jailor died
(Made text in red since I don't think people saw me bring this up last time)
Personally I'm against the idea of no-lynches because I feel like it would be riskier for town, especially since a lot of town abilities are single-use.

It does actually. I haven't played with MR before and don't remember much of his play from champs, but the timing of that list and the lack of takes before it does feel a bit like trying to look towny to fulfill people's expectations. Kinda like how people were bugging SPF (who was scum) in Grasslands to provide interaction analyses so she made them basically exactly like she did in champs so she would look towny from it and fulfill people's expectations.falcon45ca wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 7:38 pmI think it's so within the exact way MR arranges his lists, that it's almost TOO exactly the way MR arranges his lists, if that makes sense.Thunal33 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 7:24 pmDo you think that's towny? Re: Shadow Corridors Mafia [DAY 2] Rolling in the Deep
I don't like this defense. I disagree with this reasoning because if we can elim a mafia over a townie then that's good for town no matter who that mafia might be "siding" with. Also a "townsiding mafia" could be an important mafia PR. This doesn't come from a towny mindset.MacDougall wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 5:37 am If I am playing the way I am playing I am a townsiding mafia. There's no pro town agenda behind tinfoiling me at this juncture.

I don't really want to elim someone who just isn't here and hasn't done anything since I actually don't think that group is as likely to be scum as the midposter group based on past experience with a similar sized game that had a lot of slankers. In that game literally all the slankers were town and scum easily won by just posting enough to get by. I don't think all the slankers are town here but eliming a slanker feels like a shot in the dark and is probably less likely to hit scum at this point.

I don't think all the slankers are town here but eliming a slanker feels like a shot in the dark and is probably less likely to hit scum at this point.

Re: Shadow Corridors Mafia [DAY 2] Rolling in the Deep
Okay. I don't feel great about Mac since he's more UTR than usual and it feels like he's been repeating his takes a lot instead of making new ones or engaging with others, but I wouldn't elim him today.Alison wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 11:35 amNah it's onbrand for town mac. He used this logic a few times when I was hydraing with him in game 1.Thunal33 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 10:55 amI don't like this defense. The optimal thing to do is turn on me in the late game if I don't manage to get myself cleared somehow strongly. Let me townside and kill my team off then kill me. There's no pro town agenda behind tinfoiling me at this juncture.

Re: Shadow Corridors Mafia [DAY 2] Rolling in the Deep
I think it's a fairly safe bet that the mafia would try to guess who each other are based on posts in maf chat if they didn't reveal themselves, so they still have more info than town.sig wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 2:05 pmThundercat wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 11:21 am
This is a reasonable assumption. Is there even a point in mafia have a scum chat if it's anonymous to the point where they couldn't even hint at who each other are?
Exactly, I think its even a stretch to assume they just didn't all reveal themselves right away. Obliterator needs them alive and can only soup based off roles so why not?
Basically I'm now thinking we should ignore the whole anonymous thing and just assume mafia revealed themselves

Re: Shadow Corridors Mafia [DAY 2] Rolling in the Deep
I think wagoning NIK over someone else just because the slot needs to be resolved isn't good logic. I don't really like either the NIK or Poly wagons but I can't say I dislike them or object to them either. That's the problem when a large portion of the game doesn't give many takes.

Re: Shadow Corridors Mafia [DAY 2] Rolling in the Deep
NIK is a better wagon than Poly imo because NIK actually did things that were a bit scummy (like not wanting to give takes until prompted, giving a lot of hedgy reads), while Poly hasn't done much of anything.Thunal33 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 4:08 pm I think wagoning NIK over someone else just because the slot needs to be resolved isn't good logic. Re: Shadow Corridors Mafia [DAY 2] Rolling in the Deep
If the wagons look like this later I'll probably vote NIK. I feel like I'm not comfortable/prepared to vote rn since I haven't had the time to ISO people and I don't have really strong suspects. I suspect you/NIK/Mac/Nova/maybe KZA somewhat.Master Radishes wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 4:09 pmDo you plan to land your vote somewhere or are you just gonna keep shrugging at all the options and grumble about not being happy with them?Thunal33 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 4:08 pm I think wagoning NIK over someone else just because the slot needs to be resolved isn't good logic. [VOTE:
NIK] aubergine
I hate this wagon the least. Also I looked through NIK's ISO and there's nothing redeeming about it.

A couple nights ago I actually dreamed you flipped town.Master Radishes wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 5:02 pmI don't have an iso.
This is a dream.
You're dreaming Master Radishes subbed into a mafia game you're playing.
That sound you hear? That's your alarm going off.
Wake up Thunal.
